BSNL Dataone Broadband Service Reviews

BSNL Pillar issue
Dec 17, 2008 04:39 PM

I've had Dataone BB from 2006 and have never faced an issue with regards to general browsing speed, torrent downloads, or login procedures. But offlate from October 2008, some major cable of BSNL somewhere near Banaswadi, Bengaluru has got cut, ruptured, spoilt (etc etc according to officials). Ever since, till now they've not replaced the cable thing and my speeds from 190 Kbps on torrents has come down to 30 Kbps!!! Beat that..

I mean its worse than an unlimited 256 Kbps plans speed, I have the 2 MBPS plan. General browsing speed is gone for a toss, as it feels like driving a car in bengaluru's traffic clogged narrow roads, aka Narrowband Experience!. The guys at my exchange used to talk properly now they've become cocky since I call them up every 2 weeks. Hope this gets better, otherwise i'll have to shift to Airtel, which is not a problem as such but they'l have to the wiring very long to reach my computer room and hence spoil the look of my house.

Oh the Tragedy!

BSNL Lagao ... Khud Jaan Jao
Nov 30, 2008 10:20 PM

Hello Friends,

After having the most horrible experience form one of the most respected and reliable name in India - The Tata, I switched over to BSNL data one.

There were various different options available like Airtel, Reliance, Idea (data card) and BSNL among many others.

The requirement was high end downloading with a standard speed and better reliability. Since my connection was getting expired with Tata indicom on 19 October 2008, I started digging information about the various ISP's available and their prices and performances.

After reading many reviews on MS/speaking to many net cafe owners/ feedback from friends, it appeared that Airtel was the best and costlier than the rest. Reliance -as the name suggest is Unreliable and BSNL service is like driving a vehicle without insurance. A question might arise as to why I wnet for BNSL and not for any other ISP.

The reason is that,I stay in Pune in a rented house and use BSNL Phone (BFONE) and pay Rs.360 as rental for two months, just to get a bill which is the best document to be used as an address proof. (People on rent would agree to this). Once visited the nearby telephone exchange to pay the monthly phone bill and came to know that if I use BNSL internet services, then the bi monthly rental i.e. Rs.360 levied on the phone shall be waived!!! Thus filled the form on 20 October 2008. The plan that I selected is UL plus 256 kbps Rs. 750 Unlimited plan. (Also got the modem from BSNL itself @ Rs.1200 Type I. You can rent it though @ Rs.60 p.m )The modem that you buy from BSNL is far better than any modem available in the market. I confirmed it from many Net café owners and friends who use it. Again it comes with 1 year warranty. But here is the catch, if after one year anything goes wrong then there is no one to repair it or the GOVT. is not going to take it back either. Anywyas, we are loosing Rs.720 in paying rent, so the choice is completely yours.

I got the modem installed on 22 October 2008, in 2 days of application. I couldn’t believe that BSNL engineer was at the door with a brand new Modem. He confirmed that the services shall resume in 7 days. After 4 days from the day of application and 2 days later after the modem got installed, I enquired the regional office about the status of the application. They called me up and gave me the login id and password and BINGO the net Started ON on 28 October 2008. Within 8 days the system saw its Google page from the Govt. served internet services – Just Amazing!!!

The reason that BSNL can give connection so soon is that the internet that they provide is through the already set telephone lines. It means that they just have to install the modem (If you opt it from BSNL) and set up your static id and you are all done. Since the net is served from the telephone lines it implies that you have a dedicated line and no one is sharing it. So be sure about the speed at any time during the day or night. I am mentioning the day/night time since Tata/Reliance or any private firm shut down some of  their servers in the night time and on it in the morning at around 6 AM. Thus you won’t experience a very high speed in the night time as well. This is not the case with BSNL atleast what I know till now.

I am using BSNL internet services from almost a month and have not faced any major problem as far as the connectivity is concerned. The speed is good and reliable. May be they have focused on the customer care and have raised some standard at least in Pune or may be the infrastructure that they have is superios or unmatchable. I have even heard that their BSNL EVDO services are also doing fine in Pune. Hope they maintain it. Planning to go for EVDO, when I shall have a Laptop!!!

Something negative about their services:

If your net is working then it is fine and if unfortunately it goes down then bare in mind that BSNL has almost no customer care. They have 2 nos. for the whole Pune and even after trying for the whole day it is extremely difficult to reach these technical people. So you should have some "Pehchaan" with these people and be in touch with some local net cafe engineer who can resolve some petty issues for you as and when they arrive. To add to it, it is advisable to learn some gimmicks of the internet world and try to settle issues yourselves.

Shifting may create havoc. You should remember that it’s the same old Govt. organization we know about. So pre plan your shifting and have some patience and keep visiting their offices regularly to track your transfer status.

If you generate a complaint, then don’t expect any call on your mobile number for the resolution. The reason it that BSNL is not authorized to call any mobile numbers to rectify the error. So you have to be close to your phone to get any resolution.

Despite several problems I can still recommend BSNL services since their billing is way too transparent and since they are service providers from the GOVT. they are not greedy like the private companies. The plans are reasonable and are monies worth…….

Finally I can say, BSNL Best hai Mere Liye

Please share your experiences with this service provider in the comments section.

Take care.

I am one of the BSNL's DataOne happy customer.I am using Unlimited Home plan with 256kbps speed and paying Rs 750/month.The speed is very good and there are no connection issues.I have been using Wireless router which I purchased during BSNL Mela paid only Rs 900 (50% Discount).

Installation was done within a day after the registration.

Service is too good. One cannot imagine that this is the govt organization.Even in the BSNL office, all the employes are happy to server you and they will guide you to choose the plan and fill the form.

If you have plan to go for Broadband connection, simply choose DataOne.Its value for the money and peace of mind.

Customer support is very much improved. They will attend the issue very quickly. But one thing you remember about the support executives, They are not like other customer support execs. They talk as if they are doing a favour for us.They have to keep in mind that they are there because of customers. BSNL has to give little more corprate touch to the Support.

BSNL Best Hai Mere Liye.

Well Before we start talking about the BSNL Broadband service, I would like to tell others that I am among those people who have got quite ample amount of experience in this field, both in terms of technical and management. I know exactly how these things work.. Now about BSNL Broadband services, First of all everyone need to understand that I cannot recommend this service or any other service provider, the reason is Internet Service depend on lot of things.. it depends on how far your are from the Central Office or how many Bridge Taps are there between your house and the Central Office. to put it in a simple way, If you stay close to the Central Office (place where the broadband equipments are installed, you can ask the BSNL employee where the Central Office is located in your area). you will get awesome speed, but if you stay far from the Central Office you will get pathetic speed, plus connection drop, plus other problems.

That is why it is called distance-sensitive technology, typically the range of broadband is 5460 meters.Suppose if you stay within  400 meters (you with get maximum speed, the farther you go, the lower the speed.. now when I took this connection (after a waiting time of 8 months) I was very happy with the speed because the C.O. is within stone throw away distance from my house, but it started giving problem after 5 months, it hardly UP for use and the speed is also going down because of the excessive customer base. while I am writing this review the service went down 8 times.

I am a technical expert I can fix this issue myself and I can even understand what is going on, that is why I don't blame the employees of BSNL, but I feel sorry for the those who rely on the BSNL for the same service.. these issue can easily be fixed by fixing the no. of subscribers per DSLAM card. If some one from the BSNL Broadband Management is listening. Please improve your service otherwise you will loose all your Customer Base and for the customer please have some basic idea about your service provider and know-how of the Internet service system for your convenience here is a link, which will help you to understand how internet works, https://computer.howstuffworks.com/dsl1.htm..

If you still have problem or need some help, contact me.

BSNL Dataone India's Favorite
Oct 30, 2008 08:17 PM

I am a regular user of BSNL broadband service for the past 2 years. The broadband service is quite good and once the connection is established properly, it gives a superb speed. Regarding the data one service, many say that it is not as good as the private counterparts, it’s not true. When compared to our old government approach to customer’s service, things were really changed now. The call centre complaint booking is very prompt and 24hrs it’s available.

They record your complaint and instant complaint number is provided.  But, you can’t expect any midnight cure for repairs and you must wait for the next working day to get your connection restored. Some times, if you need an urgent restoration, then without hesitation just approach the dataone Divisional Engineer’s office nearby along with your complaint number. I assure you that your job is done.

A bit of advice to all (As I learnt from my experience with BSNL)

1. Always go for an unlimited home plan if you are a moderate to full time internet surfer. The amount may be slightly high, but you will not regret in the long run.

2.  Pay your bills before due date or else the broadband connection will take much time for reconnection

3.  If you are not satisfied by the Divisional Engineer’s service, always Public Grievances officers were available for help. (In private network you can’t get the Top guys to speak to you)

4. Learn some basic network configuration, so that you won’t call the service guys for petty problems.

5.  Have a watchful eye on your firewall system in the computer and install a good antivirus program. If you are using wired Ethernet modem then download  and install updates for your Ethernet driver. This helps you maintain a good speed.

Some added Tips to improve performance of Internet Connection

Click “start” then on the “Run--cmd” click enter, here type “ping 192.168.1.1” if it shows good then again type “ping 218.248.255.146”. If you receive that destination unreachable then the problem is with your ISP. Just call them. If everything is OK, try these..

  1. Open local area connections, start---control panel---network connections--LAN and right click to select properties

2. double click internet protocol and select properties

  1. Select obtain ip address and dns address automatically. Also in IE select tools—internet options---connections---Lan settings--- select automatically detect settings.

  2. Set windows firewall to default. Also select "don’t allow exceptions". If you use any upload software then allow only that. Also in firewall advance settings allow only LAN and deselect others.

  3. Download and Clean with c-cleaner (https:// http://www.ccleaner.com) its a free cleaning tool certified by CNET  (use only the default settings and don’t go advance cleaning)

  4. If you use your own modem (other than provided by BSNL) then to find the complete modem details switch on the modem and Click start--run--cmd--ipconfig/all

Always switch on the modem first and switch on the computer. Before switching off the computer, switch off the modem first. Later switch off the computer.

AVG antivirus is free and fast. Just try it if you find your existing antivirus slows down the computer. AVG free got the highest rating in CNET (download.com)

If you still find problem then Right click the LAC (local area connection) and click repair. It will refresh your connection.

Flush DNS:  Run --- cmd -- ipconfig/flushdns.  This will flush the dns cache. This is very important when you don't get a particular website such as Yahoo

If you are not concerned with privacy and expect more speed from the dns server, then go the site http://www.opendns.com. Follow the configuration instructions and start using it instantly.

Further I use Netgear ADSL2  DM111PBL The auto-sensing, Auto Uplink™  ethernet modem (https://netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/Modems/DM111PBL.aspx). As I am using the hardware Realtek Ethernet RTL8139 driver, I had updated realtek  RTL8139 drivers (Auto installation program & RTL8139 Diagnostics Program for Windows- downloaded from Realteksite and installed) and my connection has full speed and stability.

Overall Dataone is a government product and the privacy issue is well maintained by the BSNL Dataone. I don’t know about the private broadband providers but Dataone is definitely one step ahead in this issue. All Nationalized banks and Government offices use Dataone for their networks throughout India and it is proof for their service. So, I strongly recommend Dataone Broadband to any one who prefer speed, privacy and service.

It's a class of it's own
Oct 25, 2008 07:36 AM

I am a BSNL BB user for the past 2 years. I am quite happy with the billing system and connectivity speed etc. One two things I like to mention, One is the cost factor, I am sure, BSNL being a front runner in the Telecommunication services in India, they can provide the same services for a better price. Two, is the package type can be enhanced little more. Such as; the data size and the free usage hours. Since every one is paying the bills, I dont think that there is any revenue loss in this sector.

Personaly, I am very much satisfied with the connectivity and performance. I am sure that, only BSNL can provide such services at a best price among the other competitiors. I have been using Internet since 1997. Starting from Dialup, it's really an amazing development in the communication sector. I have used almost all ISP's packages. Every one has some factor which the customer is not aware of.

Broadband services
Oct 08, 2008 08:04 PM

I am using dataone broadband service of BSNL for more than six months. The performance is satisfactory. The speed is also good and the billing is transparent. A little problems in services which requires some followup. Overall I am satisfied and recommend for using it. I have taken modem on monthly rental basis and now thinking to purchase it permanently. I heard their 750 plan, which gives unlimited data, works slowly. Any idea? Is it advisable to shift from 250 plan to 750.

Treat on phone line
Oct 06, 2008 10:36 PM

Going thru frustrations of many reviewers on mouthshut made me realise I am having a lovely time on Dataone BBD.

I hooked up to Dataone Broadband on landline with ADSL Modem, at Ahmedabad in 2006. I took up the Home 250 plan right from day1 and have so far managed within the 1 GB limit.

Previously I was on Iqara(later YOU) BBD paying 330/= for 300 MB per month. I could see the vast change in speeds as BSNL increased it to 2 Mbps. Iqara gave a max of 256 kbps. My  Iqara exit barrier was low as I was on shared modem installed on top of my apartment.

I went for BSNL's Type-II W-fi modem for 1900/=, which was a substantial saving over a normal BBD Modem+ Router cost of approx 5000/=.

I shifted to Ajmer in Aug-08 and was apalled to find that broadband capacities were exhausted in the exchanges. Got a priority connection due to my official position. Configured the same ADSL Wifi modem and was back again at 2 Mbps speeds. Sometimes the files download at amazing speeds of upto 230 KBps. I've run the speed test offered by Dataone and amazed to find the same consistently going in the range of 1.8 Mbps.

Yes, there are some anxious moments when the connection goes blank all of a sudden. This has happened about 10 times in last 2 years. Not a bad performance. Never bothered BSNL Call centre for that as I know the result(identical to that described by others), from my Cellone experirence.

I’ve configured a secure wi-fi connection in  my home. The modem offers this functionality which one must exercise in order not to allow other people in proximity using up your MBs and more importantly to prevent "wardriving".

Further, thru windows, I’ve set up a wireless network between my desktop and the laptop thru the same modem. This gives me great functionality. The wifi internet connection gives great download speeds(same as desktop, i.e. upto 2 Mbps) and the networked atmosphere enables me to manage files between my 2 PCs at speeds of upto 54 Mbps.

BSNL infrastructure is the finest and charges most reasonably. Its like the great work of art by an artist whom you should never meet lest the experience is spoilt. Comparably Iqara helpline was far superior and gave immediate response even in the dead of night. Even the service was fine, but the VFM with BSNL is far superior.

I'd suggest you to find out if the Dataone BBD is working well in your area, if yes, then must go for it with a dirt cheap wifi modem. The download experience is simply mind boggling.

1800-424-1600 Support call
Oct 06, 2008 09:19 PM

This is my conversation with the BSNL support centre person of late  regarding my Dataone Broadband connection. (BTW, my dataone connection goes dead 3 or 4 times a month and especially when there is a holiday or a weekend.)

When you dial 1800-424-1600, the music keeps playing in the background with a recorded voice of a lady  saying "Your call is important to us, please be on line".

After holding for a minimum of 20 mins somebody picks up the phone with all the lethargy in the world.(Huh! Why is somebody calling?)

Myself : I am calling from XXXXXXX and my name is XXXXXXX. Can you please confirm if the server has an issue?

Support Center: What is you modem model?

Myself: WA3002-g1

Support Center: What is the modem status?

Myself: Showtime

Support Center: There is a problem in the line. Please contact your local JTO.

(How on earth did he figure out that the line has a problem without even asking the SNR or line attenuation reading? And why should I call this intelligent fellow If I already knew I should approach the JTO)

Support Center: Please hold on. I will book a complaint.

Support Center: Your docket number is XX.

Myself: Can you please tell me why is that the dataone goes down so frequently?

Support Center: Cable problem. (How many times dude?)

Myself: Look, if this keeps happening I will switch over to some other private ISP.

Support Center: Yes sir, that is a very good solution (I am stumped!)

Myself: How can you survive in the long run if your support is like this? You may even lose your job?

Support Center: I am not depending on BSNL either. I will also look out somewhere.

Myself: Thank you.

Support Center: Thank you for calling BSNL. Do you have anything else to ask us?

Myself: No.

This is the attitude of BSNL. If you want a connection, have it or get lost is the clear message.

Rest of the things are for you to decide.

However, I want to mention a good thing about BSNL. Whenever I call the PA of the General manager, things work out. But how may times will you keep bothering the PA? As always there are good employees and bad employees but the unfortunate thing is that the latter ones rule the roost!

BSNL A Government scam company
Oct 01, 2008 11:53 AM

My BSNL

Area : JP Nagar 1st Phase, near sarakki gate

My broadband connection is not working nearly 1 month and I am not getting positive response from BSNL (so called scam company).

MyADSL is going down every 2 minute. Complaint Number 5861 and 5980 closed by BSNL without Solution!!!

Fresh complaint: 6029 has been logged in this issue. I done know how many more complaints need to be logged in this issue. Only option left for me is to check any legal option available against BSNL!

Here is the list of complaints I had logged with BSNL last 2 months:

2117, 2278 -15th July

2421 -18th July

2740 - 24th July

3028 - 30th July

3353 - 3rd Aug

4439 - 23rd Aug

4588 - 26th Aug

4740 - 29th Aug

5064 - 05th Sept

My question is whenever customer facing these kind of worst customer service, Why should the customer get broadband bills promptly by BSNL? This shows BSNL interstested in ripping customer by collecting money and not interested to provide good service.

Dataone is one of the worst connection.
Sep 28, 2008 12:04 PM

I am one subscriber of bsnl dataone. But friend I am telling to you that dataone one of the worst connection of bsnl. My dataone scheme is Home 500C.From the begining to till now I didn't get the connection speed fully. Many time it gets slow down.

Maximum download speed is 100 kbps sometimes it 10-20 kbps also(but the bsnl people claimed speed of connection-256kbps-1mbps). I have complained to bsnl so many times when I have complained them they have send me one message in my mobile..."your circuit has been restored" but ultimately the problem is remain same.

I think bsnl people dont know how to maintain the server and how to repair it..previous day bsnl broadband was good but now a days this connection is worst...so friend I am suggesting you to not take this connection you go for another connection like reliance, vsnl etc.

BSNL is not bad
Sep 27, 2008 02:07 PM

Its been 10 years and I have used ample of connections at my home.  Like a year back switched to BSNL. It took me like 6 months to just get the connection. I was frustrated but the wait was well worth.

To be honest, I never had any connectivity issues rather than minor 10 or 20 mins disconnectivity in a month. I love the service. I use unlimited package

The best thing about this service is

  1. It dont block Torrents.

  2. Its always connected.

3.You can easily hook up with your own Wireless Router

  1. Speed is good enough at 200 Kbps(Even though they claim 300+) not bad compared to other services.

There are few bad points too

  1. Customer Service( Never call them, coz there dont understand human language)

  2. Take months to get installed( if someone is pregnent and order the service, by the time the child is born, you will get the service for sure;)

  3. Not easy to swap plans( It will take atleast 1 month to change the plan)

Never the less, I am satisfied with the service

Unlimited plan-750
Sep 15, 2008 10:11 AM

Earlier I had  basic home plan  and performance /  speed was ok. But since I have swithed to unlimitedplan the speed has gone down substantially and does not  look like a broadband connection. Reporting to all concerned has not helped..particularly streaming  videos gives  horrible experience. There  must be clear option stating detailed characteristics of the products  and tools to judge the product. This product  needs improvement at the hand of service  provider.

Perhaps the problem is with  last mile connection . They must devise some means  to improve the thruput .Seeing the attitude and size of this monolith    the  solution seems a distant deam till  competition hots up.One must look to  Rs. 500/pm plan  before deciding this plan  of downloaded data is controlled.

BSNL is an government organisation where changes to occur  require time.. So till then lo and lo and behold !!!This product is suitable  only to persons  who do not enjoy online particcipative  gaming.

BSNL( BHARAT ke SABSE NIKAMME LOGE
Sep 03, 2008 11:27 AM

I applied for BSNL broadband connection on 31-7-08 and was assured that in 2-3 days it will be installed. Connection was to be installed at sector 9-D chandigarh.

I spent good  Rs1250 for this connection. After repeated requests no connection has been installed. Yesterday when I inquired with commercial officer, he gave me a shock that the connection has been installed on 7-8-08 and is already working and in use.

Now today I am informed that some of their guy has installed the connection and he has all the papers with him

I am also told that somebody has visited my office but was told not to install the conection as yet as if we are fools who will deposit Rs 1250 with BSNL and than say not required. Now I am waiting for the bill to come. and than I will fight for non payment of bill and all sorts of litigations.

Good Day Mr G.M. (BSNL)

BSNL changing plan without authorisation
Aug 29, 2008 09:35 PM

I have a BSNL dataone broadband connection with tariff of Rs250 per month for 1GB usage.Any usage over 1GB is charged at Rs 0.90 per MB.

My bill for May 2008 showed billing for Rs 750 (unlimited plan) which I had never applied for! I have made several complaints to BSNL but nothing has been done and each month I get billed at Rs 750! This is cheating and I won't tolerate this.

I've decided to cancel broadband service and be free from this company full of cheats and thieves! Be very careful and check your bills and usage very carefully because you never know when this company will change your plan and hike your charges without your permission!

If you are thinking of going for broadband, wait for a few months because 3G services are going to be introduced by the end of 2008 and its really fast.

Pinjore India
BSNL Broadband
Aug 20, 2008 11:38 AM

I would like to share my experience of BSNL Broadband with all of you and hope BSNL authorities will wake up NOW. I applied for BSNL Broadband connection at Pinjore three months back. At the first instance their partially trained staff tried to install the connection and after lots of their efforts they got the connection installed. Now since 31st of July I am unable to connect the same or some times after trying for hours together I get it conntected.

The message I receive while connecting it is "Error 676, The phone lines are busy" I had been requesting BSNL authorities and making complaints on telephone as well as personally time and again since the day I am faceing this trouble, but they always have lame excuses. They even don't have any help centre, in case of any complaint you have call on their SDO's official telephone number which almost unattended.

On the one hand BSNL is announcing big promises and facilities to its customers on AIR and TV channels, but seems some of its officers/staff is still stuck to their old days, when BSNL was know as Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department and don't even want to change their working trend. But they have perhaps forgotton that the days are changed and there is a big competetion in the market. To face this competetion they will have to change their working which is required for their survival.

WILL THE BSNL AUTHORITIES WOULD LIKE TO INSTRUCT THEIR STAFF TO CHANGE THEIR OLD WORKING ?

Since BSNL is the oldest and largest telecom services provider in the country and have deep footings so is surviving but how long, if they continue like this.

Had theere been some other Broadband service provider and had some problem like this they would have and they do attended and rectified the same within 24 hrs. or so but shame to BSNL they are unable even to attend the same for 24 DAYS.

You Guys must have been feeling such type of problems with BSNL so you also must bring it to light.

You win some, you lose some...
Aug 13, 2008 12:19 AM

The national internet backbone is afterall, the backbone. BSNL, which runs on that, definitely gets the advantage of speed & capability. I have used Sify, Airtel and Tata Indicom, and will rate BSNL at no. 2. It is definitely no. 1 as far as connection speed goes, but the following points should be considered before experiencing it:

  1. Non-existent customer support:** The support website doesnt work. The phone lines do not function, and are engaged on weekends. The staff has no clue and cant spell internet literally. For every little problem, you need to run to the local office and deal with silly babus.

  1. Highly unreliable:** With great speeds comes great sacrifices(of reliability)! It keeps going off whenever it pleases. And comes back on its own. No point calling support.just try resetting everything, or just wait out between 3 hrs to 3 days, and things automatically become ok. I use a reliance data card in the meantime! Longest outage was 15 days, after which I HAD to run around for 15 days to get it sorted(note: all bills paid on time on my part.and no billing issues raised by them either)

3.Weird billing: I do not really think that they cheat you, but their billing structure is so weird that no sane person can understand it in one go. I still don't. I had a home 1000 plan, and they billed me 13000/- in month two - I checked, and they gave a weird usage sheet which even the local staff could not interpret fully. Their billing sheet again has too many unexplained items with different interpretations by different BSNL staffers. I changed to an "Unlimited" Plan, and things have become better. I recommend the same to everyone for the sake of your own sanity.

4. Extensive web-help forums: As it is impossible to get help from BSNL, luckily a lot of support forums have propped up on the internet. Just search for "BSNL support" and you will find 100's of people who will explain BSNL's mysteries in detail!

Considering the above, I definitely recommend BSNL for net-savvy folks  - you cant beat the speed. Basic users should stay away, as they will end up getting frustrated a bit too often. Only self-helpers can survive DataOne!

Excellent Service
Aug 07, 2008 01:22 PM

I took a  BSNL Start Up Plan last october from IISC exchange in Bangalore. Since Last Year the  service is quite Excellent up to the mark with no slight interruptions. Better would be if the service could have been extended for a download limit of 1.5 GB . Prices for unlimited have come down from 900 Rs to 750 Rs. It would have been better to give night un limited usage for start up plan since 1 Gb what they are providing hardly is sufficient .

With regard to the usage Portal I can just see the meter clicking away in high 2 MBPS speed in reaching 1 GB . JUst notice if you turn off and on the modem without using the internet it's 2 MB you used . Hip Hip Hurray to BSNL with regard to this . Better correct it . And one more thing is worse when you call up the customer care on 1800-424-1600  you can see a hell noise like a market with executives shouting .  Be patient enought speaking in a loud voice with them

HOW TO CLIAM RENTAL REBATE
Aug 03, 2008 07:21 AM

According to TRAI regulations we are are supposed to get a MINIMUM download speed of 256 kbps at all times. However during the FREE PERIOD(2 a.m to 8 p.m) BSNL does not give that speed. Check your speed using this link. https://abeltronica.com/velocimetro/pt/?idioma=uk

When the page opens change the country to India and click on check speed. You will see both your downlaod speed and upload speed. Then go to BSNL's site and file a complaint online using the public grievance link . Note the complaint number. The usual posting will be "passed on to the SSA for taking action". NO ACTION will be taken. After 3 days call1095 and file a complaint will the NODAL officer of the district. Quote your online complaint number and after you give them the complaint ask for the number of the complaint you have filed with them. DEMAND THE COMPLAINT NUMBER THEY HAVE TO GIVE IT TO YOU. Dont expect them to do anything they cant.

If at least 10 of you do this I will tell you how claim rental rebate because BSNL claims that I am the only person who has complained that their speed is slow.
