Incorrect Billing a menace in BSNL

I am BSNL broadband customer, I do have few suggestions while; if anybody is taking a BSNL broadband connection..

  1. I think it is better idea to think of Unlimited Plans rather than going for small home packages. It may seem there is no much hidden costs.. But usually what I felt is the lack of knowledge about the Internet and the functioning, the common BSNL officers wont be able to guide you in a perfect way..

So do take your necessary actions when dealing with them.. Like..when applying.. Make it in all written (applications, complaints etc etc..) Keep a copy of all the documents. While you apply for a plan.. Make sure you WRITE It well and Clear in your application form.. NO oral applications will be considered sincerely and you may be cheated.by them for some reason later on.

  1. If you are opting for small Limited home plans.. Make sure you check the usage regularly. I happens to find these guys accusing Virus.[not sure what kind of virus it is ] .that caused in High Download and upload process.. So keep a track on your usage.

  2. You please don't expect a customer support from BSNL. If you find it .. You are the lucky person!

  3. Make sure you ask for User name and password to check your usage!

  4. Worst case with them is Incorrect Billing!. Make sure you check them always.

  5. I surly believe BSNL is a very good Government firm but really messed up because of their employee insincere attitude.. And lack of knowledge on these platform. All these insincerity is helping all other private Internet providers.

  6. Apply for a UNLIMITED PLAN, much safer. I would recommend.. It but surly Please take care while dealing with them !!

DataOne false Billing

I am having DataOne connection (Rs.500/month plan) for the last two years. I only use it for browsing /online share trading/ financial transactions and never use it to download stuffs like songs/movies etc. My total monthly download never crosses 500MB, hence, I always receive minimum billing. But last month I received bill of Rs.3500, showing total download of 6GB ( that too in the period when I was out of station), no one used internet in my absence.


I lodged complaint, till now I haven't received any favourable response. I always hear excuse that matter is under review.


Is there any method to prove that there was no download on my computer and incorrect billing. It's like BSNL can force any charge on customers and since its government firm, there is no heed to the complaints. There should be laws to protect consumer rights.


Appreciate any guidance in this matter.

Heat Factor !!!!!

I would like to share my experience with BSNL Broad Band service, which I have been using for the last 1 year at Hyderabad, AP. Initially when I got the 256 kb unlimited connection, the speed was excellent and there were no cuts or interruptions on calls, browsing or downloading.


Trouble started in the month of April 08, when the line keep disconnecting frequently. I could access only between 4am - 10am only. Rest of the day, the line never stays even for 15 minutes and redialling never helps! I had complained to the customer care and twice a technician was sent to rectify. As you all know, the technicians work only during the working days in a week and that too only between 10am to 5pm only! Also as a working professional, I am not at home and my family members, who are totally new to the technology, do not know what to see and what to say.


As usual the technician comes home and check by dialing and the line stays for 15 mins. As per the head office rule, a technician should not be at a customer place for more then 15 mins!!!. So when my line worked during the 15 min, he gave a grin and explained to my family members that the line was perfect and he called and updated his head office that the work was done! The moment he turned the corner of my street, 'tick' the line disconnected and back to square one!


Finally I got fed and I was quiet busy with my own work till May end. Then monsoon started with regular scatter of rainfall in Hyderabad. Due to this the temperature went down from 40 to 34 degrees. Also I was surprised to see my net connection working at full rip. For the next 30 days I could see the line running non stop. Then again during the last 1 week, there was no rainfall in the city and the temperature was almost touching 37 degres. My net was back to the troublesome stage of frequent cuts.  I know this sounds crazy to read. Right now my net depends on low temperature and troubles at high temperature. Also I never had this problem when the net was installed in July 07 till April 08. Heat factor! Anybody's net suffering with this type of mania?? :)

Not much better then bsnl dial up

I have seen a lot of advertising regarding bsnl broadband.as I have already bsnl dialup connection which is still functioning very good.i make a mood to have broadband home connection.i went to telephone exchange and applied for broad band connection.staff of bsnl was very helpful in providing the connection.


On second day broad was installed on my premises.as iwas very happy to own home plan 125 with free downloading of 150 mb.but what I have observed after taking broad band the free data 150 mb is consumed very fast.connection speed is also not very fast as hyped.the service and support of course is very good but charges of downloading are very high after free data downloading.i wouid suggest anyone going for broadband bsnl dialup is much better with time bound tarrif where you pay according to the time. dial up speed is little bit slower then broad band it gives you freedom surf according to time.

BSNL IS THE WORST BROADBAND SERVICE PROVIDER

WORST SERVICE. This is what all I can say about the broadband service of BSNL. I took the connection one year back. Till date it hasn't worked continuously even for 5 days. FREQUENT DISCONNECTION is the CUSTOMER SERVICE MANTRA OF BSNL BROADBAND.


When I call their customer care (which I was in a position to call them atleast 5 times in a week due to their pathetic service) most of the time I won't get the line. Even If I manage to get the line, the terrible thing is; the executives would take the call and they won't speak with me. I have to keep on saying "HELLO". But there won't be any response from their side. Even if they attend my call, all they would say is; they have forwarded my complaint. They would say this for atleast one week.


They don't even have qualified SERVICE PERSONNEL to resolve customer queries. When the installation person came to my home; for installation, he doesn't even know how to open the internet settings in the system. He has simply connected the chords in to the modem and gone. He doesn't even checked whether  the connection is working or not. The pathetic thing is the connection hasn't worked properly after installation. He doesn't even cared about that and gone away without giving me any resolution. BSNL deserves last position in the telecom service space purely due to their worst customer service. If they go at this rate; nobody can save the PSU BSNL from getting wiped away from the market. Please don't go for BSNL BROADBAND CONNECTION. It's pathetic. Go for private players. Even if they charge more; their service would be satisfactory.

Kudos for a good service

I have a BSNL 999 broadband connection @ Tarnaka - Hyderabad for last 2 years. When I opted for BSNL I knew the connectivity was good but service was suspectible, but still went ahead, I have no regrets. BSNL provides better customer service than any private player. My broadband was down I called up the customer service manager telling him my problem that I have opted for work from home and I am not bale to connect, and immediately he sent across one of his service personnel in 1 Hr. They regularly kept tracking and calling up and asking the speed and also gave their mobile numbers in case of any problems anytime. **Personalized care.



One more incident I recall worth mentioning my modem konked off after the lightening, called up the customer care, they were out of stock for the modem the one I was using, they immediately provided another type modem with a promise to change to as soon the stock arrives, after couple of weeks they came and changed it. **Keeping the word. Most of the people are same so its easier and if you keep the numbers you have one to one rapport.



Though most of the time we have such neagtive image of Govt. service providers.Its time we change it, they are trying to change and be proactive, though they may not be as polished or as presentable as their private counterparts, but the intent and pro-activeness they provide are too good to be missed, they are likely our friendly neighbhorhood guys there to help you.

Regular BSNL billing with no internet connection

Telephone department, Allahabad is regularly sending me broadband internet bills since 01.04.07 while no BSNL broadband connection has been provided to me by the department & under this head they have charged 2708.00 from me till date.Usually, I used to make the payment of phone bills as I never expected such type of blunder from a reputed Central Govt. department My phone no. 0532-2545418.


This simply reflects towards careless working of a govt. department.The concerned officer should take a note of it & do the needful & should see as to who is responsible for this shortcoming.This is one of the reason as to why govt. departments are lagging behind as compared to private companies.However the concerned officer is being requested to make me the refund.Let us see as to what step department selects in this case.Further review about department action will also be made to the viewers.

Good as long as it is good

I am using BSNL DataOne Broadband connection for last 2 years and my plan is Home Unlimited Plus. I had been a very happy and satisfied customer till december 2007. The speed was awsome, there was no connection drops, and technical support - I never needed that.


The main cable was along with the main road to Shamshabad Airport and the cable was cut 2 times during road broadening process. After that my BSNL connection started actingt funny.

  1. Frequent connection drops.

  2. There will not be dial tone in the phone but broadband will work(with drops).

  3. Sometimes I get the dialtone in phone if there is any incoming call, but stays for maximum 2 minuts.

  4. Their IVR doesn't have records my user information anymore.

  5. Many more.

Technical support doesnt exist in BSNL's vocabulary. I never needed that before as there was no line issue before and I am well versed with CPE issues. Now I am helpless because of line and ISP issues. The JTO of Rajendranagar Exchange made several visits to my house, building and the area but for more than 6 months they are unable to resolve the issue. I even spoke to almost all the officers in Charminar Exchange, but they have only one excuse "because of the road digging, cable were cut" and they do know how to address the problem.


I am glad that BSNL had asked me to buy my own CPE and I would reccoment to all who opt for BSNL broadband "Go for own CPE, do not buy from BSNL"


Hence, BSNL is good as long it is good. Once it goes bad, even God doesnt know how to solve.

BSNL Bangalore - True Experience.

Location: Bangalore.


I have been using BSNL Dataone for about 2 Years now. I have endorsed it to so many people just to feel sorry now. They have a very bad service. Please note the following points before you make your decision with BSNL:-

  1. They take about 2-3 months to give you the net connection, once they give it, it will work EXCELLENTLY well till you get a problem. Once you get a problem, they wont attend or listen to you.

  2. Another point to note is that if you have Unlimited connection(HOME 900 PLUS), and if for some reason your internet connection gets disconnected(weather, BSNL technical problem etc), you will not get the service for about a month sometimes and they will still BILL you for that.

  3. They do not have a customer service and they are very rude to customers even if you go to their office.

  4. They register their service with NIB(National Internet Backbone). There will be about 7000 customers connection waiting in the queue. So if you miss to pay your bill any month, BSNL will remove your login/password from NIB and give it to someone else. So, after you pay your bill they will take about 2 weeks for reconnection.

  5. Go for Airtel in Bangalore as they are giving much better service in Bangalore. I have switched to Airtel last week, and I am telling this from my personal experience. They have new plans wherein it's cheaper than BSNL.

  6. Airtel have removed all the installation charges. BSNL will charge you 500 Rs towards Landline deposit, 1500 for Internet installation and 1000 for modem.

If you do not have Airtel or any other service, and if you are stuck with BSNL, follow these steps and hope for the best:-


Just keep calling this below mentioned order. It will work somewhere sometimes.

  1. Call up 1500 and register your complaint.

  2. Call 080-25514444(Broadband problem)

  3. Call 1800-424-1600(Same as above)

  4. When none of the above helps, go to the link https://bangaloretelecom.com/senior.htm, and call up the officers of your area in AE, DE, GD, DGM, AGM in that order.

  5. Those AGM, DGM etc will be always in meetings so you talk to their PA etc and tell them your problem.

  6. Preferably talk in Kannada and talk with a politicians arrogance. I am not kidding,

  7. Hope for the best.

BSNL JTO BEHAVIOUR

My second encounter with bsnl. I was having broadband connection in Ayanthole, Thrissur dist of Kerala


I was having disconnection problem from day one....whenever I used to call the bsnl technical team...they use to say that the some phone are parallel connected that's why the disconnection occur...ok agreed.


I removed all parallel connection of telephone line and am using now a single telephone line that's coming from splitter....after a along await...a bsnl team calling himself JTO and a women came to my house. they came on 12th June 2008 around 4.15 pm in evening , came into my house and said they don't have time to look as I have changed the bsnl modem with Linksys adsl modem (WAG200G)...i changed the bsnl type II modem with Linksys wag200g , as I wanted to show that the connection is getting dropped as the Linksys modem have a dsl indication light and a internet indication light...when the dsl light is not lit green it mean that my router is not getting signal from ayanthole server.


I would have accepted its my router problem if dsl light was green and there is no green light in internet (any networking guy can figure that out)the JTO refused to look into the connection.I asked the name of the said person...he jus said I am JTO and doesn't have any name...if u want to make a complain u can complain about  JTO


My question is :


On what basis does bsnl recruiting hr manager for broadband technical problem solving recruit people  ?...cos I  found those people to be illiterate about networking...they had some fixed solution..thats it...but broad band technical team should have troubleshooting knowledge. which I figured out was zero. The bsnl technical team say they can only work with bsnl modem....is Linksys  modem wag200g a highly complicated modem ?...that  again means they are spoon feeded..they doesn't have technical expertise..isnt it ?


I have seen in all private sector company the technical person first listen to u. Then they will  provide solution....but a bsnl employee behaviour...u either listen to him or forget abt the complain.... my complain still remain. Worst server & service

Am using bsnl net connection for more than seven months. am in perambur. Have appreciated bsnl initially. but now I feel sorry for that. nowadays am not able to surf continuously for even ten minutes. net connection has been disconnected for every 50 or 60 seconds. am not able to download properly.I hv made complaint many times even then no use.


Customer care people work well. but the field workers r not working in good manner. they hav no effiency to detect the problem. hv sent complaint letter directly to GM. even then no action has been taken. Bsnl spends lot of money in advertisement on the other hand it is losing users. pathetic position. I feel so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so sorry for selecting bsnl net connection. I believe that bsnl ll change it's attitude in future. BSNL down down. BSNL down down.

My experience with Dataone [ Part-II ]

Just when I finished complying my review "My experience with Dataone" my Dataone line went dead. I made a complaint on their service number. After 10 days the line is still dead i.e the Broadband is non functional. What I realise after gathering information that the customer care is run by a private vendor who just receive your call and place it into Bsnl server. The concerned exchange of your locality then is responsible to fix the fault. Now if u are a subsciber of  an exchange where personnels are inefficient and KAMCHOR then you will end up being UNConnected from India as well as from the world. What more exciting thing I found is that they don't have the technical expertise to solve the Dataone problem. As the main brain of Dataone is in Bangalore the other parts are ill equip to handle Dataone related problem. I as an customer therefore suffers for their lack of technical skill.


So my suggestion to all who want to take Dataone is: first be sure how well equip your exchange is, i.e how responsive and active are they when you make a complaint be it an ordinary Landline problem or complex link failure in Broadband. Now you can feel then from where is I writing this review from? A cyber cafe, no way man I took a new connection from a private player who are offering me decent bandwidth at a much lower charge.

Good Plans by DataOne

Hello,


Myself  Manoj, I am from Mumbai and I am using Broad Band from last 3 months. Its really surprising to experiance speed of Data One. Previously I was using GPRS at home and when I migrate from GPRS to Data One, its really great experiance.


Surfing speed is very fast also while downloading I get around 250 Kbps speed. For example downloading any MP3 song is just a Click away.


I know some of their Plans. One is of 250 RS per month in which we get 1 GB limit to download. If we exeed the limit then other charges will apply. Other plan sounds very good as it includes unlimited downloading in between time 2 am to 8 am. It cost around 500 RS per month. Again the speed is great.


In second plan we can think of downloading of Movies. It takes around 2 hrs to download a movie.


Yes its service is continuous and I didnt face any problem yet.


No installing charges also phone does not remain busy while we are using internet.

Broadband customer Be careful

I am writing this review for alll those who have jst got broadband connection....


I Got BSnl broadband conection 5 months ago..


it is 1Gb plan with Rs.-250  monthly charges..


I was given only the user name and the password for connecting to the net....


they told me a site also where I could check my account usage.but when I opened the site


and entered user name n password..


it told invalid user name


The same problem when reported to customer care


they told me until n unless ur account usage doesnt exceed 1GB it will not show u ur usage..


So I kept on using the net


but after 1 month when I got my bill I was stunned


it  was more than rupees for a month...


n later on they told me that for logging into the site for checking ur account usage user name n password is different which they provide me on  demand.


n asked me write an application to Broadband customer care  to reort the problem


from where I didn't get any response.


So all of u who r jst new to broadband


plz demand for portal id n password

BSNL Chandigarh can do with a lesson in manners

BSNL Broadband is quite a good service in terms of speed. But if something goes wrong, try calling them. First, they do not answer your calls, and if they do, they are always in a hurry to disconnect without giving you the full information. Many times they have disconnected in mid-sentence. It seems the habits of BSNL when it was a monopoly, are hard to shake away, or they seem to be frustrated people.  I would recommend that BSNL employees, at least those in Chandigarh should be sent to school again for a basic course in manners!


There is a caveat too. I tooktheir scheme in which I had to pay a fixed amount and there was also a limit for downloading 1 GB or something. There is no way that one can check teh usage, that is, how many GB one has used. Call BSNL and the way they reply I have already told you. Si I kep using teh Internet and they billed me for Rs 4450. They would not also give me a detailed bill showing on which dates I had downloaded how many GB. In other words, it is their word against you, and they can bill you with just anything they feel like.


Be careful ofthe usage if you have a BSNL connection, otherwise they will milk you. But if you can suggest how to make them answer your phones when there is a complaint, I will be grateful to hear that.

BSNL Sucks & U receive Death Threats too

*After going for 1.5 years with the hopeless DID concept of BSNL- Pimpri( Pune - Maharashtra) I finally applied for BSNL direct landline. DID  for your information is a 30-70 partnership of private exchange operators with BSNL, where in BSNL provides cabling to the exchange premises and DID the provides the cabling till the buildings in the society. If anyone having complete information about the construction industry please provide if the builder is to provide cabling to the building and internal flat ones. I assume the society wiring with the builder.


Now basically lets come to the point why I did like to get the direct BSNL landline. As a person what do u assume from DID, I was looking at these points.  We dont have to  brother about power cuts  as the  telephone line is not operated  on  direct power and  broadband  equipment  has to be  given  power supply  from your house when u want to use it.  This will be the basic picture for all.  Now let me tell u what DID has in place.  8 hours power supply was maintained  for the  landline, why bcos  the landline were routed and the biiling system was in between, 100% required. Now what about the quality of the equipment used. Anyone can guess that cheapest quiepment are to be used  if  initial establishment  cost is to be kept down.  This was the case,  4-5 days in a week the equipment commited sicide and hence the landline stopped working. Now the Broadband part. Broadband used DLink router and switch, here also atleast one reset required in a day so that it works y the grace of god till the employee of the exchange arrives. And not to mention here a single employee to handle the exchange. And wat about power supply for the broadband a home UPS that costs Rs 1200 in market.


This power backup server to the extent of 20-30 minutes a day if there was no power failure 10 hours before  and 10 mins if there was power failure 10 hours before. And did I mention about the downtimes for the broadband. Oh yes every week it was one whole day 8 hours on dailup as the broadband is down bsoc there is a cable cut or the person is not traceable to rest the equipment. Been frustated for the equipment fault I applied for direct broadband line and the application was accepted after 20 mins argument. Argument for filling in application for landline yes, bcos its a DID and we dont provide direct landlines there. This was the same reason I had to submit my previous landline installed hardly 1 km away in the same BSNL exchange.


After following up with BSNL guys was asked for NOC from DID for the landline. One week waste with the DID to prove him that this was not the best service and we can approach consumer court against him.  Finally the landline was released and without checking the landline I applied for broadand UL900 as both DID and BSNL would not have worked together. When I disconnected the DID line I found that the landline was not clear and the broadband connection was happening only after 1-2 hours of unsuccessful tries. So kept complaining about it 198 and the broadband tool free number. No resolution. Having spent Rs 900 for no usage I switched  plan to  Home 250. And  how  do u think  I changed the plan,  moved to customer service centre or it. Do u think I would have done it  after bearing all this. I  called 15000 and made them realise that they are  working for a hopeless company  with tall  claims and  wasting national resourses .  I also  informed that I have noted down the  call time, date bsoc u guys dont provide any docket number and hence I will be requesting numbers called in the bill and sue u guys for no action on the compalint. And god received call about the change of the plan. Did I talk about tall claims from BSNL, yes Depty General Manager has SLA that OFC cut will be repaired in 4 hous and landline to the exchange in 8 hours.  Some expections may be there  like  any problem solved in that 4 or 8 hours when the problem was in there premises itself.  I can't understand OFC is laid for it to be cut every week?


Anyways the landline problem was not solved for 3.5 months and I was hardly audible to the person speaking to me on the phone. No say on the broadband part. In these days I had been requesting the head of the local exchange all the times to solve the landline problem, but no solution. Finally had to take the final step, I files to the nodal office for the landline problem and asked for the refund for the broadband. In a weeks time the refund was declared for 4 days without giving explanation. And in the afternoon I received this death threat from the BSNL exchange head.  For what reason - I was looking for service that too good for the money I pay them and complaint and following it up with the higher authorities. Now now one Is accepting just behaviour from their employee, from AGM Complaints to DGM - Pimpri to Maharashtra Circle Head in Mumbai.


Hence the cons and pros below.


And why do I call then beggers, there it is we dont expect any service in return of money. Right?


I have still one month left to give my part of money to these national beggers, what about u?

I am using broadband connection in my house for the past 1.5 years. Initially the connectivity was available during day time also.After taht  the connectivity during day time is not available. Whenever I try "The page can not be displayed" message is coming. No problem if I try after 8.00 PM. With reference to the service point I wish to mention that it is not at all adequate. Customer care address should be easily accesible in the home page itself with email ids . The service mos indicated is a waste and majority times nobody attends . The automated voice interaction  system -I could never follow and understand what they mean.


Every time I am forced to write to the ids of top BSNL  people.


If any private agency  or relaible organisation comes forward to offer broadband connection I will prefer to terminate my account with BSNL.

Good product, Bad service

DataOne is good, when it works, that is. However, if  it goes down and if you need help, it is a really frustrating experience. I have called their toll free number at least 30-40 times in the last 2 months. (but got to speak to someone, may be 10 times) Here is my experience:


You start with calling 1800 424 1600  and navigating through the menus till you get to a piece of music that repeats and repeats..and they keep remindig you that your call is important to them.. After listening to it for a few minutes, you really would want to hang-up. It is such an irritating piece. Then one of these three happens: (1) call gets dropped.. too bad.. dial again and listen to that music again.. (2) silence... you hang up and the try again.. (3) A new piece of music starts playing...


Wait again (while they assure that your call is  still important to them).. If you are lucky, you get to speak to someone after about 4-5 minutes. Otherwise, silence or dropped call.. and the story repeats..


If you ever get an agent on line, then they will ask you all sorts of questions, including details of  your neighbors' dogs. Then they will say  one of  "please switch off everything and try again" or "please reboot" or "take a walk ad try again" etc..  Or they put you on hold forever and you hang up in frustration.. but the horror of having to go throuhg the torture again wil make you want to stay on.. And next time you come in, you get to a different agent, and again the same set of questions, including the name of your neighbors dog will be asked... Man, it is fun or what !


I finally used my friend's friend's friend's influence (because  he is a senior manager in BSNL) to get the job done. Calling their service is an utter waste of time.

I am residing in Hyderabad. I have taken Broadband connection from IQARA and changed to VSNL during 2005 while I was residing in Chaitanyapuri area.Due to bad service I shifted  BSNL Broadband connection during March, 2005. I shifted to my own flat in Malakpet area in 2006 along with the BSNL connection (040-24558859). There were a few problems in 2006 due to overhead wires which were repaired.


The service is excellent since  two years. Breakdowns are minimum and negligible. I have taken a new BSNL broadband connection for my daughter's residence also which is very satisfactory. I am regularly talking to my son in US using 'Iconnecthere' software wihtout any problem.I should congratulate BSNL for good record they are maintaining in spite of BSNL being a public sector company. Now I am recommending BSNL Broadband to all my friends and colleagues. I can simply say "BSNL BROADBAND IS THE BEST" in Hyderabad.

I am in coonoor. I have applied for the broadband connection in coonoor bsnl office.I went there and approached the JTO banu to get bsnl connection. Immediately they send their staff to my address and they have collected filled application from me.they processed and send me the bill within 24hrs.I paid it immediately and they have issued the modem immediately.


They have also configured it.But unfortunately now they have send my papers to Banglore get my password and id .they told me it will take 24hrs only.As they said they did it in 24hrs.Now I enjoying the broadband connection within week time.the response and followup action in coonoor town is very good.


After fixing the connection frequentelly the field staffs came and gave me the practical problems and solved me immediatelly.the modem they sold to me is very good speed and also I have a beetel .

They give unlimitted night options.


E mail id is also good.


additional usage is 0.8per MB.


Static IP address is not available.


Web hosting space is nil.


Domain name is nil.


Security Deposit is one month.


Annual subscription is also available.


Download Limit is 2.5Gb per month.


Minimum Hire period is 3 months


Plan name is combo home c+.


Totally it is very good.
