Terrible Customer Service Experience at HDFC Banas

Seriously? This branch doesn't even deserve 1 star. I am a UK resident who came to open an NRE account at HDFC, Banaswadi, Bengaluru. Unfortunately, I was assisted by a staff member named Pankaj, who clearly had no idea what he was doing. At first, I thought he might be a trainee, but he wasn’t. Even if he didn’t know the process, he could have at least been polite, but instead, he was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. At one point, he asked a lady for help, and they were literally arguing in front of me. They kept passing the responsibility to each other, completely avoiding customer service.


This wasn’t just my experience—I spoke with two other customers that day, and they had the same complaint about the staff’s rude behavior. I had a strong feeling that they wouldn’t process my account, so I asked Pankaj if he was sure he would open the NRE account for me. He said yes. However, after I left, he called me 5 minutes later, saying the form wasn’t fully filled out, even though he had checked it before I left. This clearly shows the staff’s carelessness, wasting customers' time.


It has now been 3 weeks, and I haven’t received any email or phone call. I contacted HDFC again, and Pankaj answered. The main issue is that he doesn’t even listen and just hangs up without providing any resolution. This has happened multiple times—whenever I call, he cuts the call in the middle of the conversation. I’m not targeting just one person, but I can confirm that all the staff at this branch have the same terrible attitude, as if they aren’t getting paid or as if we are getting something for free.


It’s not just this branch—better to avoid HDFC altogether. The customer service is very poor. The manager should be fired for not training the staff properly and for making customers' lives miserable. I originally chose HDFC to invest money in India for a property purchase, but now I will never return to this bank—absolutely not.

Get HDFC maketing calls still taking HDFC products

Top 2 nuisance banks are HDFC Bank & Bajaj Finance who make too many commercial calls even after warning. If your getting commercial calls from HDFC Bank or even any other bank and again you take such banks saving account or credit card means your idiots and irresponsible. I opted Kotak account as Kotak makes least commercial calls. IDFC also makes less calls but IDFC bank makes mid night SMS and monthly 15+ SMS on sales(Not talking transaction SMS)

Its a very worst bank ever! Just talk very rude and it took more than 12 days for a loan amount which we were looking for..just talk rubbish and alot of fake talk..just say the amount will be received today, tomorrow and so on..but its still 12 days and amount haven’t been credited…soo better next time look for the better service banks which need the customer and respect them!

I have had the worst experience with HDFC Bank over the past three weeks. I have visited multiple branches to get my address changed for my NRE account, which holds a significant amount of money. Unfortunately, the employees at these branches have been friendly but untrained, including branch managers. They lack the basic knowledge required to handle NRE and NRO accounts.


Despite my repeated attempts, they have been unable to change my address or phone number. Instead, they keep sending me to different branches, hoping that someone there will know how to help. However, the reality is that all the branches in the Durgapur circle lack the necessary information and skills to assist NRI customers effectively.


As an NRI, I do not have the luxury of time to wait for them to learn how to do their jobs. They should be consulting their seniors or knowledgeable staff to resolve my issues, but instead, they call random people for help. When they don’t get the assistance, they simply say they cannot do it. This is extremely dangerous, especially when the address on my bank account is incorrect, and it has been incredibly frustrating for me.


I am not an isolated case. If you read other reviews, you will find that many people have faced similar issues in different areas. HDFC Bank needs to take serious steps to improve the training and professionalism of their employees to provide better service to their customers.


Extremely Disappointed with HDFC's Service

I am thoroughly disappointed with the service provided by HDFC Bank. Despite multiple attempts to communicate my concern, it’s clear that their customer service team either doesn’t read emails carefully or doesn’t understand the issues raised. I explicitly mentioned that my concern was not related to the status of my loan, yet that’s the only thing they chose to address in their response.


The lack of professionalism and competence is shocking, especially from a bank as reputed as HDFC. It’s frustrating to deal with a team that seems incapable of providing basic customer support or resolving issues efficiently. This experience has left me questioning whether I want to continue banking with HDFC.


I expected better from HDFC and am seriously considering closing my accounts due to this poor service. I hope others take note of this experience before choosing to bank with HDFC.

My joint account was blocked on 5th July 24 for joint holder. I promptly submitted the re kyc document to HDFC bank EON kharadi branch on 6th July 24. Till date, despite multiple calls, whatsapp reminders, email to customer care, no one is ready to respond with the status. They are harrassing a genuine customer for no reason. th account is still in blocked status. SHAME on YOU HDFC BANK. would severe all my bankng relationship with you.

I would give HDFC Bank a "0" if I could. My experience with their services has been absolutely negative. They have failed to resolve even the simplest of issues, such as clearing a refund, despite months having passed and providing all necessary transaction details.


The customer success team is particularly disappointing. Numerous representatives have reached out, claiming to "TRY" and resolve the issue, but nothing ever gets resolved. All I hear is that they will "look into the matter and revert back at their convenience." This is unacceptable for a bank that should prioritize customer satisfaction and efficiency.


If you're looking for a bank that values your time and resolves issues promptly, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. HDFC Bank has proven to be ineffective and unresponsive.


Poor services, Disappointed with Banking Services

My salary account was blocked without informing me.


Calling helpdesk & speaking to escalation manager - I was told that it was blocked due to rekyc. NO EXPLANATION WHY I WAS NOT INFORMED IN ADVANCE


At branch, I was told that it was blocked because jont holder mobile and email ID was not in HDFC records - was it my problem that you didn't asked for it and simply blocked?


I supplied rekyc document for joint holder on 6th July.


Today is end of day THIRD WORKING DAY(10th July) and my account is still blocked.


Frustrated and extremely disappointed with HDFC bank and it's services.

I would suggest not to go with hdfc bank either salary or savings. It's the worst bank I have seen. I had maintained 10k but still experienced deductions. Utterly disappointed by their behaviour. I have decided to discontinue with hdfc.

My experience with the hdfc bank has been nothing positive. While hdfc offers a wide range of services and strong in the market. There is a high maintenance fees and charges for maintenance and transactions or loans. There is also need a improvement in customer service. Long waiting and unresponsive support makes me frustratedfrustrated especially when I have a urgent issue. There is a glitch in the online banking.i have transfer some amounts to my friend. Amount is deducted but not received. I ask for a refund but no one done the process quickly and fast. There is not proper and attentive staff. I would not recommend to anyone to be a banking partner in HDFC BANK.

One of the worst banks in the history of India no doubt it is one of the largest banks in India, in my opinion they are the largest banks in carrying out Frauds and are involved in all unethical practices. The people there are never reachable For Ex. Mr Sri Hari B so called legal manager doest know anything of the law, Mrs Nilam Taloskar so called customer relationship manager doest know how to handle or deal with the customer. Receiving 100's of calls every day for all stupid reasons, do not check their data and never know anything. if you question them there will be standard answer stating that we don't know any thing about this. the name of the bank should be changed from Housing Development Finance corporation to HALF DACOIT FULL CHOR this is the best name I can think of for them. The quality of the people working there is so low that I doubt that does the bank consider any education qualifications before hiring or they just to fill up empty chairs in office?Because the employees there are good for nothing the only thing they know is to sit and keep the chair warm


PS. IF taken to social media there is a standard response which ends with Regard Anay Service manager


I pity the guy typing/ Copy pasting the messages


There was no option for -ve marking else would have opted for that 1 star is way too high for the bank operating on such standards
