I am a guy and I started lookin for my life partner since 2014 when I was 29 yrs old. About me in less detail, I work in small MNC, draw less salary, but have own house, car and other assets. I do not drink or smoke too.
I registered to this money drinking portal in 2016 because many wrongly advised us saying "this is the top Matrimony site in India and success rate is good". So we blindly trusted them and registered with them.
We went to one of their offices in Chennai and they treated us well by gathering all the information from us. Ofcourse they will because they drink money only for this, which we weren't aware of. So we paid them for 3 months package for around 4K and it was finally registered.
Yes they inputed almost everything which they need to do while we visited their office but out of it almost 20% had wrong info inputed. Since I knew how to edit, I did that to bring everything right. Only a few was non editable, so we contacted them and they changed it.
Guys now comes the twist. After getting paid, they did nothing more. Ofcourse, only we need to do in the portal is just like Nautanki.com., oh sorry Naukri.com, Search for girls and then call or message their family all by ourselves. Only this is what they allow us to do! No more support from them.
And just before 3 months is over, they will not ask anything like "Sir, were you successful in finding your partner?, any improvement from us? Do you need any suggestions?. Nothing. They will just call us for asking "Sir, your package is getting expired, Pls renew it, we discount, this, that, bla bla bla". And call this for over 10 times until we renew. And after renewing, again no calls, nothing. Because they got the money!
My mom actually got so addicted to this, since its a easy way to find a girl for me because she had some hope in it. So, they learnt it and starting drinking money. In 5 yrs, we spent about 60000 and 1 more year we took two 6 months packages which is 6000 for 6 months. So totally we spend about 70000 applying some discounts for 6 yrs.
And even after 6 yrs I was not successful and they did NOT ask even this question - "Sir, you are searching for bride with is for about 6 yrs now and why weren't you successful?" Or atleast they should stop asking us to renew, since this site didn't work out for me. But NO, they still were asking us to renew the package calling over 10 times until we are done.
Finally, I lost my temper and asked them not to call us anymore, or else, I may have to take this to court and since then they stopped calling.
Those days, Matrimony services were done by so called Brokers, which was very successful, But now these digital corporates have got themselves into this business for drinking our hard earned money but doing no help to brides and groom who are struggling to find their best partner importantly wasting their precious time! All they care about is money money money. They drank 80K of my money, for what? NOTHING GOOD.
Taking about their Website, they have many sub-websites for different castes and even religions, making the searchers bit easy. But Their common website "TamilMatrimony.com" is itself better and easy to be used. In fact, it was user friendly until 2019. after which they updated their UI, which is bit not good. They drink money from us, only to pay their developers to maintain their website. But still they don't work to add more bride and groom profiles by doing more door to door marketing.
In my experience, sites like Tamilmatrimony are only suitable for Guys and Girls -
Whose Age is between 20 to 30 max,
Are working in big MNCs or Govt Firms or running large business and working in abroad.
Who earn heavy. at least 60K per month.
Who look very good, slim, good in color and for guys no bald.
You are rich enough to have own house, car, assets, etc.
Because, if you look into the profiles, for me being a Guy, the girls expectations will be too high like house house, 1L per month salary, MNC or Govt job, decent guy with no bad habits, good looking and so on.
So if you don't fall in above criteria, and even if one criteria is missing, don't waste you time in registering with this blood and money drinking matrimony corporates. Its better to try with local Brokers and relatives. Because broker only gets max 1000 for one time registration, but if your partner is fixed due to them, you may have to pay heavy amount between 15K to 20K depending upon broker. And via relatives, its free.! Even if you are wasting your time via brokers and relatives, there is a lot you can save!
Verdict - My mother was the one who was interested in using this and she wasted about 6 yrs in it. After which she realized. If I had spend this money on local brokers, I would have had got married much earlier. So please people in simple, if you not rich, if you are not working in largest MNC, if your salary in low, if you dont look good, please avoid registering here and instead invest in something useful.
