Sony kirara Basso-Kv series is CRT Tv series in sony brand.Sony is one of the best brand and its picture quality is best among the other company.Sony also known as best brand in television manufacturing company.Sony kirara series is best quality rather than videocon, samsung , samsui, onida, phillips. Last twenty year Sony has top quality sounds with there picture quality thats why most custmore choice are the sony television. Sony kirara series and other sony television brands comparely costly rather the other television company. Big differance between there prise compare to other television. Sony has quickest In servive & support among other company.

I have , since the introduction of TV in Mumbai, used 4 different brands of TV. To start with, we purchased a brand called JK TV. This was of course BW and very basic. It had Valves and not transistors . However, initially , the excitement of having a TV at home camouflaged all the defects of the idiot box. After many years we went for a Weston colour TV. This was a big change over the BW basic TV. When I came back from one of my assignments in the Gulf, I then brought with me an LG TVCR.

The LG was ( I suspect) made to operate in an airconditioned environment and not a house like mine. It gave perennial trouble.

Finally, a couple of years ago, I decided to go in for a Sony Kirara Basso. I must say, that picture, sound and overall colour combination ,this TV beats all other TVs hands down. Sony is Sony and NO BRAND CAN BEAT SONY.

I have been using the sony kirara basso for the past four years as the centre of my home theatre and it has given me astonishing picture quality. there is minimal blur and dot crawl. the color rendition is very natural and life like.the sound is quite good and loud (13 + 13 watts rms.)inputs are quite adequate-3x a.v. inputs(1 front) 2 x s-video inputs(1 front)and 1 monitor output.

the remote is quite bulky as it includes functions for the vcr as well but functons not regularly required are neatly hidden under a sliding flap.

all functions are menu driven.

cons- as in all large screen tvs there is slight curvature at the adges.(unless you buy a plasma tv), you live with it.

the whites show up as a light pink and when you turn the volume up really high the picture jitters.

the micro switches for tuning and similar functions get spoilt within the year and remote does not have those functions.

overall it is a great value for money.

a word of caution- do not ever go to the sony service station. they are pathetic and will rip you off, just to check the set.and do not trust their repairs either.
