Panasonic Plasma TH42PV8D Reviews

Panasonic Plasma TV service quality is bad
Apr 06, 2017 11:36 PM 2675 Views

I bought a Panasonic plasma TV in October 2009 and they promised 60,000 hours of working. It's hardly been used since my husband and I work long hours. This week it stopped working and the red light diagnostics showed 7 blinks. I contacted the service centre which in turn called the local service centre in chennai. The guy called me up and the first thing he said was that he would come and have a look at the TV but it's going to cost me Rs.1750. I said that I have checked the online support and it's showing 7 blinks which is code A25. So, he can come prepared for it. He then straight away advised me to buy a new TV, saying that they don't have spare parts and that he will close the complaint. It's a pretty expensive TV and they have the worst customer service .

My complaint ID:R040417031108.

Panasonic plasma is the best television brand.

I purchased it 2 months before but till now I did not found any problem with it. working excellent till now. It has smart features with good looks.

I KNOW you love it if you just see it once. I suggested  most of my friends and family members to buy it. IN television history panasonic is the best brand that I trust . As it gives you the best product at reasonable price.

Panasonic Plasma TH42S10D, best product

Purchased this product 3 years back with 2 years warranty. working perfectly till date. Picture quality and depth of colors makes my neighbors jealous of me using other brand LCD/LED/PLASMA. its clean 600 Hertz flawless, flicker free, blur free during camera movements. I am using it with tata sky HD box and also taking the output of my PC using HDMI cable.

If you wanna buy flat screen then go for panasonic plasma only if you can't afford SHARP and please no LCD/LED. You can go to any multi brand shop and compare it with any other 42 inch flat screen. see closely the difference in details of image(specially tree/mountains) and then check out the level of blurring of moving image, color distortion on full screen human face. I can assure u'll take one panasonic plasma home.

My Viera PV8D

I recently bought a PV8 and so far it has been viewed for 29 hours. But this time has been anough for me to make out that the descision I made is a right one. The picture Quality is excellent. The Sound is also great. You can feel the crispness in sound and the picture. These are my findings so far.

  1. Excellent Picture quality & crisp sound. You will notice very minute blurredness when you watch TV from very close but I guess it happens from the PIXEL Shifting technology being used in Plasmas to prevent Burn-in.

  2. Sleek and good looking. It is simple and sobre to look at. The non glossy look gels with my Living Room surroundings. Reduces manitenance of Scratch prevention.

  3. The Viera Link is great as it allows u to control your Plasma and a Panasonic DVD player with your sinlge TV Remote.(Info as per manuals, Haven't used it).

  4. Connectivity is great. You can connect 2 HD devices like gaming consoles, Blu Ray Players or any other HD device. Then you can connect 4 more DVD players to the remaining 4 AV ports. That means you can connect 6 DVD players or gaming consoles to AV IN and 2 HDMI ports, 2 Home Theatres to 2 AV out ports, 1 Computer to the TV using the PC port.

My TV is just a week old and is in the Running in period. I will use it very carefully for atleast 200 hours in Zoom 1 mode to prevent burn in. I use the following settings and the picture is very crisp.

Picture Mode: Cinema.

Contrast: 35 to 40

Brightness: 35 to 40

Colour: 45

Sharpness: 20

Colour Intensity: Default

Colour Mode: Cool.

P-NR: Strong

3D-Comb-ON.

Sound Mode: Music

Bass: 0

Treble: 24

Volume Correction: Full.

Powersave: ON

Colour Management: ON

Picture Overscan: OFF.

I initially wanted to go for Sony Bravia 32Tseries but decided to check out Panasonic as well and I really liked the quality of Viera 32X11. Frankly speaking the image quality on the Sony was not crisp as compared to Viera 32X11. I did some research and came to know that only Panasonic and Hitachi manufactures their own Plasma screens and also supply them to other manufacturers as well. So I decided to go with a company that knows what it makes. I bought 32X11 and used it for 3 days but my Parents were inclined towards a 42 incher. So I returned the Viera 32X11 and bought PV8D. Though it was unexpected but I did notice difference in picture qualities of both the TVs. I watched the ICC Champions Trophy matches and there was a sense of smoothness with which the images were shown on the PV8 though at that time I was not aware of that Plasmas can show fast moving images much better. I am happy with my investment. I just checked the Usage time on my viera to confirm that it was not teh demo product. My TV showed that it was used onyl for 29 hours, 15 minutes and has been turned ON for 37 times.

Happy to know that I was given a brand new piece.

The Installaton was prompt. Got a tech at the promised time. No idea about Product service and hpoe I do nto require any

Good Product & Excellent Service
Jun 16, 2009 06:33 PM 6360 Views

I have recently purchased the Panasonic Plasma TV from the retail shop, Bangalore. The explanations about the product were excellent. The common doubts were logicaly cleared.

Most important - nosales talk or bad mouthing other brands. The service was very good. Instalation of the TV, product detailing, etc were very good. Also, when I won the 50 DVD prize against their scratch & win card scheme, they were not carrying what I wanted. But they arranged to deliver the combo of movies of my choice to me personally when I was a short visit to Chennai .

The parcel was handed over to me by their staff personally at the Koyambedu Bus station before I boarded the bus back to Bangalore. The wonder is that it was not my request but the offer of Panasonic team.

Fulfiling a customer need is viewed as THE customer service. Kudos to the Panasonic team of Chennai & Bangalore & I wish them the very best to continue the same.

Panasonic viera plasmaTH42PV8D -the best ever

Off late, i realized the importance of writing a review on flat panel displays, because nowadays, crts being on the verge of extinction, its this whole new generation of tvs, which was going to revolutionist our lives.also, with their chic and sophisticated looks, these displays do alot in upping the ante for the television as a consumer product.i underwent the same dilemma, and faced the very question, perhaps asked by everyone, whether to go for an lcd or a plasma.

I had done a lot of homework, almost for a quarter year, studying the differences between the two.the differences have been elaborated by me in one of my reviews -lcd or plasma?

Now, briefly mentioning, lcds are best for bedrooms, with a watching distance of 10 -12ft.32 inches, being the most preferred.since majority of lcds dont have the 100 hz technology, motion blur, though negligible, could kill the excitement, enthusiasm for the movie aficionados.

Whereas, plasmas were meant for large living rooms, where they create lfe like images.now since a plasma produces its own light, the images are bound to be more vibrant.its better suited for group viewing because of their wide viewing angle. Now, the various options in plasma segment were the samsung PS42A45O, PS42A410, hitachi 42AXO1A, and the panasonic viera TH42PV80D , TH42PV8D.

Plasma VIERA TH-42PV8D

Panasonic has many quality products in the market since many years. When it comes to Plasma screens, they are known for manufacturing and supplying to even other brands as not every brand has own plasma manufacturing units.

Its one of the best products I have ever picked up in my life! Before going further, I will explain how I reached Panasonic as my brand for a plasma.

I considered LG, Samsung, Sony Bravia, Nikai, Toshiba, Pioneer and few other unknown brands and checked the demo of both LCD and Plasma of all these brands whatever was available in the 40 to 50 inch range. LCD was dropped from my plan due to 1)Higher cost, 2)Higher & Fixed contrast and brightness level which is not easy on eyes, 3)Less effect on action scenes, deep colours etc. and few other reasons which I cant recall now.

Plasma was my choice due to 1)Deep Blacks and Deep colours, 2)No strain on eyes as brighness and contrast are not fixed, it varies from scene to scene, 3)Less priced, 4)More power consumption but not fixed like LCDs, average of few years will be equal to the LCD by any chance, 5)best for action or fast scenes, 6)best for game addicts

So, after a month long review/comparison/opinions from real users, checking demos myself, cross checking prices, services etc. I finally bought Panasonic Plasma Viera PV8. Similar model is PV80 which has only the SD card slot, Glossy frame and a V-real PRO 3 technology extra than PV8, which makes a difference of 5k in pricing too but hardly makes any difference in real life daily use.

PV8 has a HDMI input which creates the bestest clarity available today for anything that comes from a Home Theatre/DVD etc. I will be adding a 1 Kv Servo Vertex Stabilizer to complete my set up very soon which is used by many friends and the picture quality increases dramatically too.
