I feel this review is:
One day get away from Bangalore – Siddara Betta. This was a road trip and a small trek to see one of the hills near Tumkur. This place is known for the small Shiva temple situated in a cave at the top of the hill.
Moderate trek made difficult because we had to climb the hill bare foot. Weather was hot on sunny when we did the trek(Jan 7 2018).

Siddara betta is near tumkur and around 100 kms from bangalore suitable place for a one day trip with friends, suits even for a bike trip as the roads are well maintained, the hill climb takes some time and energy as the no. of steps are more and steep too. it would be good if one can reach the starting point of hill by early morning so that the hill can be climbed before it get too hot, climbling the hill might be difficult if travelling with elderly people and infants, this is really an awesome place to be visited in many ways, Trekking, Hill top site seeing, devotion, caves and darkness enjoyment.
The original trip logs specified that there is a temple and some caves on the top of a small hill. we decided to climb the hill, visit the temple and cave and then get down by around 3 in the afternoon and reach bangalore around 6 in the evening. this sounded too easy and we even joked that it is going to a mini picnic instead of being an actual trek.15km away bus stop .127hours as theme
After that, we reach NH4 and then started enjoy the drive till we reached city limits .once we reached the city limits. till than thank for writing this sunch longs post and do let me know wht was your most memorable day in life till now.
YOUR RATING ON
Siddara Betta, a rocky hill, is famous for a temple and few caves. This place is ideal for activities like trekking and cave exploration. . This hill is located close to the Devarayanadurga and has a dense forest which is home to several species of migratory birds. Birdwatchers can spot different native and migratory bird species such as the rare yellow-throated bulbul. This hill is situated around 35 km from the Tumkur town and 12 km from Koratagere.
I came here with my college buddies. It is a kind of adventures place. Here you should wear Indian tradition clothes. Especially girls wear salwar for hill climbing.
We enjoyed a lot during climbing hill and had fun. You will find so many monkeys looking for things. They will snatch something from you be aware. you will find steps on the hill and one iron rod for protection is there to hold.
Will suggest you to wear nice sports shoe because normal shoes can slip. I was with my friends climbed the mountain before ten and came back at 12 pm.
On the way there is temple above, you can get fruit juice etc. and they will charge you more than its worth, so it will be good for you to keep water bottle with you and close it tightly because monkey will be there to snatch the bottle and he will waste the water.
You will get pleasant view from the hill, temple is really awesome because there are so many statue on the temple wall. You will find the cheaters in the uniform of some saints who will ask for money be aware from them. Nice place and you go at least once and enjoy. I will recommend this place to every one.
I have been here once and like the place, but not so much! It is rather a sacred place than a fun place. They act weird if you are wearing western clothes and girls are advised to go in salwars.
The climbing is fun though. There are a lot of monkeys looking out to snatch something from the visitors. The hill has steps carved out in the stone of the hill and there is a iron railing support and you just have to hold on tight. It feels slippery if you are wearing sandals that doesn't give you much grip.
I had been with friends and climbed the mountain in the morning around 10 am and came back by 12 in the afternoon.
There is a temple above and on the way, you can get juice etc., . but they charge you more than its worth, so it is better to carry your own water bottle and keep it in a bag which you have to close and hold safely. As a monkey nearly snatched one of my friend's bottle and she threw the bottle scared:D only to spill the water!
The view from above the hill is beautiful! there are caves formed by the rocks of the hill adn there is a temple above. Beware of fake swamijis who will get you into believing them and try to spill your wallets. This place is nice to visit once.
