Konkan Express, Kothrud, Pune

I lived near the hotel and I visit kokan express many times. As fish food lover must visit the hotel. Its menu card in nicely presented which really matter alot. Due to it, its is easier to find which kind of world we have to eat.But the main problem is all about parking issues. The is no place to park the vehicle as special cars. Kokan express is thoygh a nice hotel for Fish food which its truely delicious. There hygiene is the first priority so there is issue about hygiene. Presentation of FOOD is also really decorative and inside the hotel it is luxious.

I had been taken here by a friend for lunch and he confesses to have been there several times. It really meant a lot when he said that:D

So I tried the chicken thali just to be on a safer side cause this was my first time. It was awesome. The dry chicken and sol kadi were amazing. They serve you fast and make sure the taste is good so u can order for more rotis or rice. Overall, a good place, for lovely fish food and good on the pocket too.Food quality too good .

Would like to visit again and try their fish and mutton thali.

This is great place for Fish lovers. Ambiance is rustic but clean. Crowd is good for families. Service is prompt and excellent. We had been there multiple times (couldn't finish their menu yet). All varieties are good... Fried fish, rava fish, fish curry,( of course all sorts bangda/paplet/surmai...). They server different kinds of "bhakari's"(breads). My personal favorite is "tandul bhakari" (rice bread). This goes very well with Konkani fish curries. Option of ordering indivilual dishes or thali order is also available. One last tip... Don't ignore their mutton dishes. They are serious competition to their fish preparations.

On almost all the occasions we could get sitting place without much waiting (at @8:00pm). The hotel seem to get filled up little later in evening. They did tell about parcel and home delivery systems but I would still prefer to visit the place and eat real hot and tasty dishes there.

If you want to change your evening dinner, look no more ! Treat yourself to authentic Konkani cuisine at Konkan Express in Dahanukar Colony !

This is a small joint with a typical Konkani ambience that is a refreshing change !

They have seating both inside as well as in the open. The ambience theme is maintained inside as well as outside. There is a television for those who care about it.

Food is simply exquisite. The variety is overwhelming. Both Konkani and Punjabi cuisine is available. Continental cuisine is not available. You also get rare fish dishes including Bombay Duck and Solkadhi. Personally, I like chicken sukha.

Friends tell me its a fish lover's paradise.

Service is fast and decent.

They also do free home delivery in the area and accept credit cards for small bills too !

All in all, I feel its something I can go to for good food and ambience without a burning my pocket.

KoKan Express itself suggest what it is good at ! Obliviously--Seafood and non-veg. Believe me, I am veg , still would like to review on this restaurant.

Kokan express allows you to explore mostly on Non-veg and Fish favorites. Also Egg Curry is great fun ! One who loves simple homely food at not so high rates is would appreciate this restaurant. All types of Thali are available on the copper based vessels- plates/spoons/glasses. Place is quiet and does not allow drinks/smoking.

Ambience : Ambience is Okay. Do not expect a very posh ambience but do expect great food.

Rates: Reasonable rates-- You get Non-Veg thali around 70 rupees with various delicious stuff in it.

Veg thali is also ready in no time.

Service : Service is very good and quick. The waiters pay attention to you and try to serve better and quick.

One more important thing I would like to mention is home delivery-- You get the same food within limited time and plus you get 10% discount on home delivery.
