KingFisher Beer Reviews

UEP Subang Jaya Malaysia
A Good Refreshing Beer !
Mar 28, 2001 05:32 AM

Kingfisher is a lager beer brewed in India and sold

widely in the UK and North America.

Since I have only sampled this product in the UK

this review is based on that perspective.

Not only will you find your local Balti House or Moghul

eatery stocking this beer but you will also find some

off-licences and supermarkets give it shelf space.

Kingfisher is marketed as ... '' India's best-selling

premium lager....''This Indian beer is certainly a

good one and the export version has an alcohol content,

by volume,of 5 %-so it is by no means weak.

Just as importantly it has a full flavour and is smooth,

creamy but seemingly dosen't have much of an aftertaste.

I find it is a thoroughly refreshing drink and it is

really does go wonderfully well with traditional

English food,Italian dishes,Chinese dishes,chicken

vindaloo, poppadum, onion bhaji and whatever other

dishes you enjoy eating at your local eatery.

I should add Kingfisher dosen't only have to be drunk

when you are having a fiery curry. On a hot summer's

evening two or three glasse of this fine lager will

refresh you. Watching Manchester United, Leeds and

Arsenal on Satellite TV battle away in the European

Cup could be made even more enjoyable if you also

drank a couple of Kingfisher's.

In short this is a fine beer which I would recommend

you try! I do not think you will turn out to be

disappointed. The brewing industry in India can be

proud of this beer !

Kingfisher - good beer
Mar 22, 2001 01:54 PM

I do think king fisher is a good beer ! I like it coz it has a good taste and I dont have a hangover ..its true that a hangover depends on the number of beers consumed but at times there are beers which are strong enough to get u down with just one bottle .. there isnt a particular occassion where in I consume it ...though I enjoy having it best when with starters or at times when I want to feel refreshed ..

Kingfisher - only for fishes...
Mar 19, 2001 04:45 PM

This is one beer I liked sometime ago but not now. Its too ..ya know .. timid compared to other beers. It seems diluted or weak compared to haywards or knockout.

As I said, this is only for fishes not for biggie sharks like me. But I gotto agree this is one of the best for starters. I still remeber the time when I started out with this.

This really is good just for a mid day drink. But for a party night or an all night out boys gettogether, something like haywards or fosters is best. This is good even while travelling.

So all I say is this is not a bad beer at all but after someime, u'll feelit lacks something whichis well supplied by Haywards or Fosters.

If u're still a starter I advise to stick by this.

Yes,, definately girls can have beer. I personally do not feel that it may / will cause any harm to girls. I feel beer is a great drink and can be enjoyed when consumed / taken with a pair. The drink is really excellent. King Fisher in Partcular is a good brand. The taste is real soomth and the larger is real good. The bitterness is just right. The brand and quality of the product is real, real good.

Too good to resist!
Jan 16, 2001 12:50 PM

The Kingfisher Beer is the best among all the other brands. A perfect mixture of hop, yeast and barley. I like to have it without anything else but sometimes would consider a shandy.I surely would recommend Kingfisher but would not recommend Royal Challenge Beer.(Its not mentioned in the list!)Its the worst beer anyone can have.

Its too bitter to taste and wouldn't get a kick at all! Pilsner's a good beer too but Kingfisher specially with the brown bottle is the best.

Its ok
Dec 29, 2000 12:27 AM

I agree that KF is a good beer amongst the best in India. But I disagree with some previous reviews that its due to the extra 1% alcohol! Since when did Alcohol enhance taste?

KF pales in comparison to other beers such as Becks , Bass, Guinnes, etc.

The rest of the beers available in India such as Stohrs or whetever, ae essentially just CRAP. Taste come from the ingredients such as hops, wheat etc... not from alcohol :)

Prost!

Best beer in the world
Dec 29, 2000 12:21 AM

This is the best beer in the world. Its got a nice blend to it. Color is yellowish brown. Best when you get it on draft. Its got a smooth taste. The ones you get in India have the better taste I think probably because of 6.5% alcohol in them as compared to ones available in US which has 5% alcohol. Ofcourse it is widely available around in India.

King of indian beer.
Dec 27, 2000 03:54 PM

I started by drinking career by touching this angel drink, recommended by ever loving friends and then the journey followed like indian debt account in world bank. To be frank, I rate this brand as a mild one and little more than a soft drink, for it is sold on at liquor shops and the taste is... very difficult to describe when it rolls down your throat at a freezing degree just like taking your cute girl friend to paris on a bandh day !!!.

Its Good!!!!!
Dec 20, 2000 04:05 PM

I like Kingfisher Light very much especially when had chilled. It gives a very mild kick and suites all occassions. Beer is my all time drink and since Kingfisher tastes good, cheap and suites me in everyway, that is the beer I drink and recommand it for all women who like drinking beer, as it is light and easy on you, but for all first timers, my sugesstion would be, is to first have a shandy i.e.. to mix half glass Limca or Sprite and half glass beer so that you dont get a kick. This kind of drink will save your day and at the same time you have a great time.

New Delhi Mera Bharat Mahaan
Kingfisher losing it's CROWN!!
Dec 18, 2000 09:28 AM

Since my childhood (& that's a long time ago!!) I've just loved drinking this frothy brew!

Kingfisher & Kalyani Black Label have been my staple for quite some time! However of late the quality of these two beers - Kingfisher in particular has declined substantially.

In the North they have this pseudo-macho penchant for what are euphemistically termed ''strong beer'' which I personally think is just an acronym for Horse Piss (pardon my french!) & it was really great having a trusted Lite beer like Kingfisher to quaff each time the mercury soared.

But of late, whether it has to do with coping for the huge demand or just poor quality control the beer sucks! With all the Aussie, German & US brands coming in courtesy WTO Ol man Mallya better pull up his socks or tighten his Brewmasters thong or whatever & get his act together or else it will just signal the demise of a fine Indian BRAND!

Be a special bird, be choosy !
Dec 16, 2000 05:23 PM

Beer is a good drink so long as it is mild enough to almost replace aqua,in other words to quench thirst and also a pleasant means to pass time with friends. But the beer going around in beer parlours or pubs is quite another thing. KingFisher is a mild beer comparatively, though I'm told that beer abroad is even milder.Even so, KingFisher is the safest atleast for youngsters (why not the others too?), the other brands being too strong, or stronger...best avoided.

I think its sad to see college crowds passing their time in pubs, gulping beer..This activity is fine with the older generation, as a pastime with old buddies. It not only ruins the liver, makes one lazy, inactive and pot-bellied. Its definitely not an incentive for effectiveness or ambition.

Taken in the right spirit and right reasons and right amount (not on a daily basis), I think beer, that is ''KingFisher Beer'' is a good option It helps laze away a hot afternoon or evening beautifully. Anything in excess, is dangerous. So chose the right brand and the right manner to enjoy life for a long, long time. CHEERS !
