KingFisher Beer Reviews

Yukk Taste..!!!!
Apr 16, 2015 04:59 PM

It is a very low quality beer and cheap I would say. Taste is very poor and contains so many bad things.

I heard from somewhere that they mixed glycerine in the beer to make it more effective but that is not good for health, even beer is not good for health. But if you drink in limit, then you can enjoy the whole world.

Kingfisher is cheap and within budget but quality is not upto the mark.!

Well I have seen a lot of people criticize kingfisher premium, I too am a beer guzzler but I think otherwise. For me kingfisher is more like ray ban aviators or enfield bullet 350 standard, I think the beer is one of the best brews of india its a flagship after all. My father since the day he had a rd 350 till he had the triumph rocket still drinks kingfisher premium. I think the problem with you people is that your outside Delhi.

I have felt the kingfisher in Delhi has a much better taste than the one in haryana or Maharashtra or any state for that matter. The apt alcoholic content for a beer should be 4.6% which kingfisher is near about and the ratio of brley to hops is also commendable for such a cheap beer. If chilled at the right temperature, kingfisher tastes as crisp as a glass bottled soda.

A word of advice the green bottle seems to have a better taste than the dark one and try the kingfisher in Delhi 9 months back it was available for 35 bucks now its 45 which is bad as we could have 3 bottles in 100 bucks those days.

This is how you sell!!!
Dec 14, 2008 09:15 AM

Kingfisher did everything but impress me and it just goes to show how a bad product when well marketed can do wonders for the company, I will do the review of the beer first after which its effects on the ever growing beer market.

Being from the largest manufacturer UB group it has a wide reach and a lot of other labels under their umbrella such as Kingfisher strong (worse than KF), London pilsner, Royal challenge and so on

The colour of the beer tells you about the beer before even tasting it and seeing the beer a person would know what to expect. The packaging for India's No1 beer is worse than that of a local made spirit come guys for Rs. 70 isn't something better what the consumer deserves. The taste is so so pale and ordinary and yes no to kingfishers are the same so where is the consistency.

This is where I like the UB group they have marketed it so well that people associate themselves with KF and Dr. Vijay Mallya ( hats off ), I have really learnt that its not the product but how you sell it is what matters.

A Piece of Mortal Land India
Kingfisher - The king of screwed times
Jul 18, 2008 05:00 PM

I remember the famous song “Pub with no beer”, for old time’s sake, a country number and the way it used to imbibe goose bums to all those passive and active alcohol consumers, for whom, beer, was and will be, an all time favorite.

But now, if can sing the same song as per present conditions, it would go like, “When I look at the BEER, It brings me a tear, And it leaves me with fear of hangover.

Chennai India
Beatiful Experience
Dec 14, 2007 04:35 PM

Iam a tee totaller once upon a time. and few months ago I had the oppurtunity to take bear in a fare well party given to a co- worker. I could not refuse so I gave up taking a bottle of beer. being a tee totaller, I didnot want to take any hard Drinks like Brandy, Whisky or Rum.

After this incident, I have become an occasional drinker of beer. of all the beers I have tasted King Fisher is the best of the lot. Simple reasons are it is not very strong or light and it doesnot make you a drunkard or addictive.

I usually go to bars once in a blue moon. My recent experience was outstanding. We ordered two King fighers initially and ordered Chilly Chicken. Its a beautiful Combination, Chilly Chicken And King Fisher Beer made for each other.

Taste was just superb . even after two bottles of beer there was no guidiness or hangover. When compared to the other beers the cost is also not very high but moderate and doesnot pinch your pockets.

Further more is others cannot recognise that you have drunk.

"King Fisher is no doubt the King of all beers"

How much beer is good beer?
Apr 09, 2007 08:29 PM

I have been a beer enthusiast for many years now and I once wondered how much beer is good for health. I mean, upto how much can one drink without compromising on his/her health. I am a person of such type that I believe what I see and here is what I saw in https://bayerischerbrauerbund.de and I am happy:

Men should not drink more than 40 grams(about 1.7 U.S. fluid ounces) of alcohol per day. This is the rough equivalent of one litre or two pints of beer. Women, on the other hand, should not consume more than half that quantity. Going to the real hard facts, 700 ML of beer/day for a man and half that quantity for a woman is acceptable.

When you drink beer, the feeling of it going down your throat is good. While drinking beer, the feel, the smell and the sizzle together enhances the overall experience. Kingfisher Premium is my pick. This one seems to be a rocker. Its clear, smooth and has got a great taste. Especially if you have it after a gap of 8 days! Hey, that doesnt mean you have to give that big a break every time! Enjoy

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna
Aug 12, 2006 04:39 PM

Hi friends I hope you’ll are out of KABHI ALVIDA NA KEHNA hangover, lets forget about Johar`s, Bachhan`s, Rani, Priety, and SRK lets get over some chilled glass of Kingfisher Beer, to whom I think so few of our members can proudly say and sing the great Kishore Kumar’s song Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

It is one of the best beer manufactured in our India and has been exported worldwide by UB Group, which is one of the second largest manufacturers of liquor in the world, headed by Vijay Mallya.

Though my favorite beer is London Pilsner and Ambero but when I tried KingFisher I was convinced I was missing out,I found Kingfisher very tasty at Brabroune Restaurant at Metro – Dhobi Talao in Mumbai, which is run by ever dependent Parsis, who are generally very well know in Mumbai to maintain quality and genuine stuff. For quality I depend anytime on Restaurants managed by Parsis and Iranis, they will never cheat their customers, I am not saying all others sell spurious stuff.

Forget that, lets talk about Kingfisher Beer, as they say it is infact flying and is King of good times. It is one of the good beer and you can say it is the best only when you have genuine one, if you have spurious one at any cheap joints then please don’t blame me for recommending it. It is a rock solid & nice beer, with mild hop flavor and can handle well with Indian, Chinese or you can say with any other spicy food and off course with starters, it’s really smooth and goes down your palate smoothly. You can have upto 1 to 6 bottles, depends upon your quota and you don’t have to worry about any hangovers the next day.

But to tell you the truth Kingfisher Beer which is brewed outside India is of inferior quality this is what I have found and experienced after having it here in Dubai, though it has been winning awards at most of the beer feasts.

I wish I could get the real Indian stuff out here in Dubai. Cheers!!!

WITH KINGFISHER BEER - KEEP FLYING MY FRIENDS

NOTE: - THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY ONLY FOR THOSE WHO DRINK BEER, AND NON-DRINKERS DON`T TAKE THIS REVEIW SERIOUSLY.

Health Warning: - Beer can be harmful to non-drinkers, please don`t try this at home & please don`t drink and drive.

Ice Cold
Jun 01, 2006 11:42 AM

What is the best way to chill out after a hard day's work at the office, you guessed it right it's an ice cold beer. According to the recent nutritional reports, men are allowed to drink 24oz of beer and always it has to be in moderation.

I am not reviewing Kingfisher beer in this article but sharing some of the best beers around that you can enjoy. Kingfisher is defintely the best Indian beer around and it's really smooth, though I've tried the KF strong, I think it really stinks....although I tend to like dark beers/lager beers I'm put off by KF strong and also the other beers of the strong kind. I haven't really explored much as to what sort of German/Czech etc brand of beers are available in Hyderabad maybe someone can suggest where to buy them, most of my beer consumption has been in the US of A. At the most I have about 3-4 bottles i.e., the 16oz bottles. If you have more than that, it gets boring not much interest left in it.

If you happen to be in the US, then you must definitely try Sam Adams Dark kind though not the light kind of beer cuz they say it's meant for the chicks. The really kewl thing about Sam Adams is during the festive season they come out with 12 packs that have as many as 4 varieties. I'm trying to stay away from the usual suspects like Budweiser etc. Brooklyn Lager isn't so bad either, supposed to be one of the oldest breweries up there. Other choices are Yuengling......the name sounds Chinese but it's not, it's american. I think Yuengling has a variety with wheat flavour and while sipping you can sense it.

I've tried a Canadian beer called Molson and I'd say it's pretty good along with Labatt blue. Coming back to the dark beer kind some of the best beers that you can find are the German ones, probably the reason they have the Oktoberfest. Becks is one best of their beers, I've also tried others like Warsteiner, Spaten special dark beer and also a beer called Oktorberfest.

Stella Arois is a fine Belgium beer that you can give a try along with Pilsner Urquell, a Czech beer and Guiness Draught for those who like the really really strong kind.

Happy Drinking and your comments are highly appreciated

The Tried and Tested Choice
Mar 08, 2006 04:50 PM

Since beer is an acquired taste, personal preferences play a key role in one's choice of this highly popular alcoholic beverage. For me, the act of experimenting with beer brands has always been rather disastrous. Ultimately, I always seem to come back full circle to Kingfisher. It's not just about taste, it's the entire product experience. Beer enthusiasts will know exactly what I am talking about.

It is almost as though Kingfisher has been customised to suit my personal taste. Everything from the flavour to the packaging is just right. In particular, I love the consistency of the experience of drinking Kingfisher. With every other beer, the basic parameters like taste, strength and smoothness seem to fluctuate, more so across geographic barriers. Kingfisher delights with its consistency. Never had reasons to complain so far.

Another reason for my preference for this brand stems from the fact that it's been around for such a long time. Right from my college days, Kingfisher has been my preferred brand. And it has always been readily available wherever I have travelled. So accessible. So consistent. So delightful.

Dont Fish for KING BEER.
Dec 29, 2005 12:28 AM

A class product which is very clean and refreshing in taste. It is much better in comparison to foster and cobra beer.It is very thirst quenching during a hot summer day.Ideally goes well with curry and other continental food.Try it out with a barbecue during a party and add humour to your party by doing a blind tasting only to find out this beer coming out as a winner.I hope soon we will find this grand beer on supermarket shelves on multi buy offers. It leaves no after taste in your mouth unlike some other brands available in the market,so you do not feel heavy and need to burp while enjoying your food.At 4.8% it stands out very well balanced and beautifully dilutes with your food and let you savour your flavours of food.I will strongly recommend kingfisher to all serious beer drinkers.Enjoy it with food or on it's own.Good brew after all from united breweries India.

Sizzling mood
May 21, 2005 10:47 AM

Have you read my review Drench for Draught ? My prediction i.e. from sitting to flying has fulfilled, King Fisher is in the horizon now as I dreamt.

MY NEW REVIEW

Why do people imbibe King Fisher beer, a bottomless fulfillment for quench? Those who devour it feel the whole day with bubbling moods, sizzling spirits and remains young and vivacious. Old feels young and young feels calm and brawny. Recent introduction of “KF strong” is most embraced by the young and old alike. A heavy load from the head is unpacked with the first few sips of kingfisher and remains afresh through out the day. Its glorious sun rising colour and majestic bottling is another eminence. It has got the supremacy in the family of beers.

My concrete salute to the “KING FISHER FAMILY”

Kingfisher Country!
Dec 11, 2004 02:56 PM

I know it will feel like I am flogging a dead donkey, but right now, I am writing this review from Goa, which was Kingfisher city for these ten days.

Anyhow, Kingfisher is pretty cool for the ones who are new to drinking, or do not exactly have ancestral ties to Devdas.

One of my personal best ways to have Kingfisher is to dunk 155 ml into a glass, so that froth is prepared, let the froth just deflate, grab the glass and glug it down!

Ahh! The sweet and full taste of potato wafers and Beer! Guys and gals, froth tastes like potato wafers after sometime! || CRACKLE ||

Of course, this beer tastes terrific even when you go thru the normal bar routine of tilting the bottle as well as the glass, so that no froth is borne.

Cheers now, gotta go for my next beer!

Beer factory is back
Oct 21, 2004 11:48 PM

The beer guzzler is back ?.I'm a proud owner of a beer belly ..yeah u need determination and 3 beer rounds a week for it..yeah yeah shrug off, now I'm looking ways to get rid of this belly ?.but not the habit coz I njoy my beer ?.

Well it all started in the summer of 2001, I had just joined college, and what locales did it have, hills all around n greenery, rarely which we get to see in good ol Delhi?n yeah a beer vend jus next to it?how could adam resist the temptation of eve?oops girls m not comparing u to beer?.ppppuuuulllease beer is better n cheaper ?..dint yea guys read those T`s which say ?beer is better than a girlfriend??.come on?

OK I was introduced to it by few of my seniors in college?m not blaming them but?.its just that one of em asked me if I drink or not,and not to sound a fool I said I do?.that was it?then our frequent visits to vends(Theka`s) and bars started?..

Well as a matter of fact beer actually introduced me to some of my best pals?beer can be used in many ways ..no m not giving u all: the 101 benefits of beer?.hey I heard Cleopatra took bath in it for beautiful skin..girls?.k my history is bad ,but it always had been bad?..

What I tried to say earlier is that beer is a good friend,it makes u feel your happy at times and sometimes make u feel sad to ?the way u want is the way u like it?.

I really can?t remember the number of times we drank?.we never needed any formal occasion ;be it that day I made a Gf or I broke,or the day we won the inter college .the day we failed ,the day we jus?hell who needs a reason for drinking?.

Sorry my actual Rvu was about kingfisher strong?but just got moved by the power of beer?.c I told ya ?dint I ?K m talking about Kingfisher strong beer that?s available in delhi ,the bottle actually has a red foil ,not the gold one?.

I personally prefer strong beers over Lager but haywards and sandpiper lager r good too..

But nothing compares too?kingfisher..the first time I had it was in a friends farmhouse n man ,that was it ,the love affair had started ?

It actually knocked me in a single bottle by any standards that?s powerful?.the taste is good too n doest taste like other Indian beers which r similar to P?k m sorry but some of them r ?.

The best part is the hangover was not there ,no late night trips to drink water or no early morning burps n stuffs like that?..

2 bottles of beer ,friends ,music and American lays make my day?..

Though it is a bit overpriced as compared to few beers here but its worth its froth?.

The kingfisher lager beer sucks big time, but its older bro rocks big time?.

Part from kf I like a few beers available in gurgaoun near my college like godfather n turbo ..though the latter tastes like?.but the kicks are there?

I drink alcohol though more nowadays but beer is the best leisure drink ever made by humans?ask the germans?man I wish I could go to the Oktober fest in munich?

The matches n trips are made worthy by rounds of beer, ask my buddies ?..

So that was lot about beer but I cant help it ,while I lived in hostel their was a beer factory just in front so I couldn?t help but daily smell the malt?.though it smelled bad sans alcohol?but then who is complaining ?..

That?s me n my beer story signing of but meanwhile keep njoying this leisure drink without getting too tipsy guys ?njoy the party that?s called life?.

Hyderabad India
Emperor of Good Times!
Aug 03, 2004 07:30 PM

The title says it all! After having tried a lot international brands, a beer gut to prove it, the taste that Kingfisher offers is simply rich, clear and everything that is wholesome of a good chilled BEER! There are a few beers like an obscure Aussie brand call Cascade that taste better but finally when you put all the necessary ingredients that go into making a great beer, Kingfisher beats them all.

Making a shandy (a quart of beer with lemon juice) for the ladies, you have to choose a Kingfisher or for that matter any beer based cocktail. It is never too heady and the taste simply light and refreshing! Priced economically (it costs almost double abroad) it is a must serve beer for all occasions!

An advice for novices to guzzling the frothy, make sure, doubly sure, absolutely sure that your bottle of good times is always CHILLED! Happy Guzzling!!!

Good Ol' Kingfisher
May 24, 2004 05:09 PM

Please note that the following article is very biased!

I grew up (and across .. :) ) on KF Beer (KF is the most popular way of ordering Kingfisher .. at least in Bangalore). I started drinking beer in Bangalore and about the only two standard beers avaiable then were KF or UB (United Breweries).

I have many fond (and some disgusting.. but still fond) memories associated with KF.

Among the many advantages of KF, first and foremost is that it gets you drunk (Very important !:-| ). Next well. Its tradition .. Lets go for a beer in B'lore means inevitably KF. Here are some guys nowadays who go for Fosters and the imported variety..but for me and my friends its gotta be KF or nothing else.

Even in the pubs the beer on tap is a choice of KF, KF , and KF . You might think that I would have gotten fed up of drnking just one brand of beer.. but naaah.. I still like the beer.

Last year I was abroad (London) andgot a chance to try out quite a few different beers (Carling, Stella, Heineken, London Pride, ..etc etc). That was fun ..but when you want something to wash down Indian food theres nothing like KF.

Few warnings though

  1. Never ever try it warm

  2. DOES induce burping

  3. The smell does not go away easily ( which I found out with disasterous results)

Cheers

The King Of Good Times Indeed
May 19, 2004 05:51 PM

Beer the mother of all light alchoholic beverages, it conjures up images of an amber liquid in a glass with condensed droplets sticking to the glass trickling down reluctantly. Among all the various forms of the brew available in india Kingfisher surely takes the crown. The crisp taste and the feeling as the liquid flows down ones throat is amazing.

I had Kingfisher for the first time when I was in my tenth standard. Didn't know much about taste then as I was still acquiring one! But yeah I can still remember the thrill and the innocent glee that I had felt then. from there onto Bangalore and having the UB Kingfisher draught beer and thnen moving back to the bottled kind at various cities all over india it has been a long and cherished association indeed.

To me it is the memories attached to the times that I have had Kingfisher that make me so fond of this particular brew.

I am sure the other reviews can give you statistics about the flavour, glycerine content etc etc. But to me it is still a flavour of my youth or a time machine that transports me back to more young and carefree days. All this writing has made my throat dry I guess its time for a little lubrication CHEERS!!

PALAKKAD INDIA
For generations
Dec 31, 2003 04:20 PM

Hellow to all,

It is not a taste to tongue but the whole body. As I had written in my earlier review, I am still proud of telling the whole public about its good quality and a rerurring taste and a day long good spirit whereever we may be. This UB product has to go to every youths of the universe, why I say it has not harmed my health and from my experience Beer 'KF'' the king of kings gives enough energy and good mood to any one who consumes it. Because of the Sate Govt''s imposition of high tax on this mild one is really painful. Even in our Kerala the KTDC is charging too much Rs.59/- per bottle. Ordinary people comes to a stand still where they reach and fetch one botle beer. However, it has an never ending taste among those who takes it and this will go to the top of the worlds's beer, I feel even now the case is same. It is affectinate to me. with good wishes to all on the forth coming ''Onam Festial'', especially to Shri Vijay Malliya Saheb amd UB personnels.
