The first thing you need to keep in mind if you are going to choose an ISP. If you are to choose for the first time you must have many question taking place in your mind. Here I am going to provide some useful tips to choose best plans as per your need.

1)  Estimate your Usage: first of all you should estimate your internet usage that how are you going to consume per month. be sure to go for extra 10-20% just to secure connectivity when you use a bit more in some situation.

2) Estimate your Budget: now you need to estimate your Budget if you are running short on funds you will have to choose very carefully as you want your requirnments to be fulfilled as well as it should be in budget.

3) Now you can go for fancy names or you can choose local internet provider. Why local service provider as sometimes local providers offer very good offer as they want to make their market. and they are very near to your house. you will not have any problem in customer service.

4) Some suggestion of companies: Excitel that I am using right now. speed is good 50mbps and truly unlimited @695. truly worth your money.

or if no avalibility at your locality you can go for the airtel as it is reducing prices and giving 1000 GBs per month.

ISP How To Increase your Coustomers
Jul 01, 2017 05:51 PM 2022 Views

When A organization decides to provide wireless ISP then the organization chooses to login for their customer with a perfect security what that mean when a client connects to ISP first thing to   automatically open ISP login page then only internet will be provides and this will be done in only mobiles in other case they are using outdoor router to provide internet then the providers will provide a dynamic IP its important is if you give static address then the customer can change the ip address if you assign ip address as DHCP then user nothing to do.

Some of the ISP provider choosing wireless connections then their is a chance  to conect multiple devices and use as login id to no of connections. then ips provides 2 or 3 devices to use their Wireless network Outsite the home

Well choosing a Wire less ISP is better than broadband, its give you freedom to use many device, so youre questing to choose a wireless connection.

Well you can choose airtel ISP because its quite fast and provide you unlimited internet at all day, this is totaly good wireless for using.

Second you can choose IDEA or vodafone which provide you the same service as airtel, its quite fast and I ve choose the airtel at my home.

There are various of ISP are in market you can choose according to youre use. Ive choose airtel because its speed is marvelous

Best to Choose.

First of all if you are buying a new connection then before establishing a connection please do a quick survey in which you must know the companies in your area providing internet to home.

The next Step! is to check their tariff plans which suits you best.

After then the important step is to check the reviews of the particular company, try #mouthshut.com# for it. Now, if are are confused for the wired or wireless connection then I must prefer to say, you should try wireless one.

Now the Advantages of wireless connection over wired one.

1)Reliable

2)You wouldn't need to carry a wire! along with you.

3)You can use it anywhere from college to home or out of the town.

Cons:-

1)NONE.

Wireless ISP - Mumbai
Jan 19, 2012 01:08 AM 25270 Views

From reading the various threads on Wireless ISP I am given to understand that there are the following providers currently in Mumbai:-

  1. TataIndicom

  2. Airtel

  3. Reliance

  4. BSNL wiMax

A. I'd certainly appreciate my fellow MS members' input in filling the gaps in the list above.

B. Requirement:

  • which wireless laptop dongle

  • why

  • price per month

  • speed vs. download

  • installation price

  • any other factors

Look forward to receiving your feedback.

To me great customer service means firstly listening to a customers issues; really knowing the matter at hand. Then after having a strong grasp of the situation making the most beneficial and efficient steps to reaching your customers goals. At the end of the day great customer service is solving a customers issues promptly and without compromise.

I really love the personal touch of the customer service provided by this company. You can talk to real people who have at heart their customer.

Tikona Wireless Broadband -My experience
Jul 25, 2011 11:25 AM 26837 Views

I had issues with airtel broadband(DSL).

1)I am an occasional user and wanted higher speed to book train/bus tickets easily.

2)I changed the plan as they promised higher speed(Browser 899 -8GB@512kbps) .But there was no visible difference during downloads. So I requested to revert to the original plan. The customercare informed me that the original plan is not available now and so the request could not be processed.

3)The plan they changed had 200 free calls on my landline which I was not using at all.And that free calls mean that I will have forego 12GB download @512kbps.When they changed my plan they did not give me an option to choose between Browser 899 and Browser 899-SL(20GB@512 kbps).

With these problems I went to Tikona. The sales guy told me that this is superior technology and all.

But I had problems with them too.I fixed those problems and find that Tikona is having good speed.

1)I have got FMC -599 plan .Plan charges 599+Service Tax+education cess.

2)They took one week to install the line. They give you a cat-5 ethernet cable which you can directly plug into a PC/laptop/wireless router. Those guys who came for installation were not able to bring the cable into my existing concealed connection and so they gave the connection through my window.

3)I did not like the way the wire was hanging from my living room window .I have a small kid and he constantly pulls and plays with the cable. Also it was spoiling the ambience of my living room.So I send a mail to their customercare to rectify this issue.

4)The guy who installed my line turned up and stated his inability to make the wire concealed.(My existinf airtel line is concealed and I wanted Tikona to use the same pipe to bring their wire into my house). So I engaged my electrician and spent Rs 200/- to fix this issue.(The problem here is Tikona uses cat 5 cable and so they were not able to just connect it to the telephone junction box which was already available just outside my flat and had to push the cable into the pipe so that it will be concealed.)

5)Now I found that I could not use my existing Beetel wifi router because that uses a telephone line and is different technology(ADSL) while tikona uses ethernet cat-5 cable. The sales guy confirmed that I could use my existing router with tikona line.So I spent another Rs 1800/- on the linksys wireless router to make my internet connection wireless inside my house.(Tikona is providing wifi router @Rs 75 /- per month or Rs 1500/- for lifetime rental and in both cases I should return my modem when I disconnect the line)

6) Finally Tikona has sent me a bill for the period which it was working to fix my issue and I was not able to use the internet.

So for people changing to wireless broadband from DSL internet think before you change. But the speed is really good.

Tata Photon+ risky to buy
Jul 20, 2011 07:59 PM 21858 Views

I bought my Tata Photon+ device with a postpaid unlimited connection last year(2010) during diwali time.

actual cost of device was 2500 INR at that time.

I called Harjase Tata Photon sales office located near tilak nagar metro station in delhi.

bcoz of festive season that cost to me around 2100 INR+ backpack+ discount coupon+ holiday package

so I gave my address for delivery of device.and the STORY begins.

the salesman came only with the device but no bag+ no coupons+ no holiday coupons

and promised to deliver later.(tomorrow never comes until its too late).

i called him 4-5 times on his cell no. in 2-3 weeks but he started ignoring me.

than I called the person to whom I ordered the device.she promised me to deliver the gifts after my first bill payment so that they can get affirmation from head office.again a fake promise.

so after 40-50 days I went to the office and asked for my gifts.it took around 90 mins to complete our argument and finally they agreed to handover my gifts at an extra cost of 200 INR.

this implies that total cost became 2300 INR for me.

Now comes the Connectivity.

I opted for the unlimited plan @900 INR /month which after discount of 200 INR/month and taxes costs around 830 INR/month in rajinder nagar near karol bagh, new delhi.

the unlimited data transfer at upto 3.1mbps in this plan was 5gb and after that the speed will come down to aronud 256kbps(note: mind the diff between kbps and kBps while buying).

i used the device for approx 8 months and never breached 2gb data transfer.

the sad thing is that I never get the speed more than(max)800kbps.and most of the times it remains around 200kbps which is just 50 kbps more than photon whiz(153kbps).

somebody told me that acc. to rules u must get 1/3rd of the upto speed.

it almost became a part of my life to register complains every fortnight on toll free no. of photon+ regarding connectivity.

many times I requested for engineer visit at my place to check the signals and my device but no response for that.

only once they accepted a technical problem/congestion for a month in their network and for that they return me 50% of paid bill for that month.

the only good thing with photon is that u will find tata photon outlets in india very easily.

I Strongly recommend to get reviews of other networks also before buying any.

I will not go with Tata photon again.

Intermittent connectivity, pathetic d/l, u/l speed
Apr 13, 2011 12:20 PM 20443 Views

I opted for Reliance Broadband+ two days back with a trust on label and service levels. Really disappointed to highlight that connection is intermittent and sluggish.

I had published the netspeed test results(1 yesterday night, 1 now as well) in speedwave and have asked Reliance to benchmark their performance against other vendors .

Device provided too seems to be of poor quality and doesn't connect. I get a download speed of .02 mb/s . I now feel that even my wired broadband BSNL /Airtel connections are better than this.

Please do a complete pitch-work before opting for it.

Reliance WireLess Broadband signals showing X mark
Mar 19, 2011 04:47 PM 19257 Views

I purchased Reliance Wireless broadband+ netconnect @ 1599 last month.

I choosed 256kbps for testing. signals are showing(x) mark no signals.customtakeouter care are habituated to say "change settings-> choose 1x speed rather than broadband+ speed. 1x speed is very poor in speed.

The customtakeouter care executive is telling like "we are in the upgradation, maintainance process to overcome broadband+ low signals. It will complete within a few months".

1x speed is equal to speed while connecting internet thru mobile. I want to know which is the best wireless internet service provider. please reply.

Tata Photon+ is bunch of lies. Please stay away.
Dec 18, 2010 12:44 PM 18486 Views

Tata Photon+

Is worst product on Indian soil. They rob and cheat customers in daylight(and may be in night also). I have tried every possible bit to get speed out of their Photon+. I have escalated matter to their nodal officer too.

But the damn thing never works. Speed is slow and can give you an anger. Besides, tata indicom(despite theit multi language site) never warns that their product does not work in many parts in Mumbai. Their sales people are also completely dumb about this.

Please throw away Tata Photos - if you have already bought them. It least it will give you peace of mind.

Tatas, you may be also making steel - but you cant make an internet connection work and you can not make your promise work.

Bye bye TATA!

BSNL EVDO and CDMA phone internet
Apr 15, 2010 08:39 AM 23107 Views

Here I am writing a review of BSNL EVDO after using it for more than a year in Pune city. Basically I am very much fascinated with BSNL that, in Pune I I started working as a  DSA  of BSNL. I am authorized for sales of all BSNL products in Pune and all Maharastra(for any wireless device like EVDO and CDMA phone).Anyway, let me come back to the Point again.

BSNL EVDO

Now Roaming is also enabled in BSNL EVDO, hence in EVDO enabled cities, you can get upto 3.1 MBPS speed and cities/small towns/ villages wherever there is CDMA network, you can get 230 kbps speed. This is all theoretical. Practically from one year, I observed

Speed: I stay on third floor and very less obstruction because all buildings in my locality near Vishrantwadi are upto 4 floors, hence speed on top floor, I got is upto 1.3 MBPS also sometimes. But  averagely, I get 600 kbps to 900 kbps.On ground floor, I tested, it gives upto 450 kbps in my same building premises while downloading a movie, I get download speed of around 80 kbps

Actually the CDMA tower from my building is 1.5 kms approx.

I tested it in various areas in Pune(Since I am a DSA, I show a demo to my customers at their desired premises before purchasing, which I think is ethical. Why should customer waste their money if the device dont work at their place after purchasing.I dont sell the device if it doesnt work at the location.I am not praising myself, but I am talking in favor of customer.I want satisfied customers only.It doesnt matter to me if I gain few customers only, but I have to decided to do business by ethics only.)

In Pune, Areas of Dighi, Dhanori, VimanNagar, Vishrantwadi shows good speed(300 kbps at ground floor and around 800 kbps from third floor and above). And download speed of around 100 kbps and upload speed of around 60 kbps. But this speed is somewhat fluctuating.suddenly it falls down to 20 kbps and below and the next flush, it rises upto 80 kbps and so on.Also this download speed varies with the height.

At ground floor, you get around 15-20 kbps download speed and on top floor, you can get around 40-50 or sometimes 80 kbps also.

In congested areas nearby Laxmi road and the central parts of city, I found that this device showed poor performance.hardly 150 kbps on ground floor and the signal strength was also very weak and on third floor and above, hardly it showed around 200 kbps and yet the signal strength was not consistent.sometimes 3 bars in signal strength, sometimes 5 bars and next minute, there is no signal.

Thus in the congested part of city, this EVDO fails.EVDO only works well when there is no big obstruction in between(a 10 storyed building/hill etc).On topmost floor, it works fine but ground floor is a problem for this device.

I also tested it in villages nearby Pune where CDMA 1.x is available.Though the device can give 230 kbps, but I got 192 kbps max in rural areas.

Also in areas very very near to the telephone exchange in cities, EVDO device showed good download speeds. In telephone exchange premises, it showed almost 1.2 mbps and good download speed above 100 kbps and super fast internet access. This trend was shown in the areas surrounding the telephone exchange(I tested it near Model colony, Katraj, Yerawda and Vimannagar exchanges)

INTERNET FOR RURAL AREAS

But in rural areas, Internet access through CDMA phone is much feasible than a EVDO.You can go for a plan 99 option of CDMA(minimum rental plan) and 250 rupees rental unlimited usage plan through CDMA phone and speed upto 230 kbps. For roaming facilities, you are charged 100 rupees rental extra

Thus in 350 rupees, you get a phone plus internet access from your CDMA device(without roaming)

Some fair conclusion

1) If the CDMA/EVDO tower is nearly 1 km from your location, EVDO will show good performance

2) In areas 2-3 kms from the tower location, it will show average performance

3) And areas above 3 kms and further from the tower, performance for this device can't be guaranteed

4) Also in congested areas, this device doesnt work well

5) Nearby airport/airforce base, this device doesnt work well because there are no towers in the nearby vicinity, hence if your location is nearby airport, you will get fluctuating, inconsistent  signal strength and speed will be maximum around 300 kbps

6) For rural areas, CDMA 1.x phone is better for internet access(It is also called as Rural Broadband by BSNL)

Most important thing before purchasing a wireless internet device

Please have a demo of the device at your desired location only.Till the service provider is not ready to show the demo at your place, dont go for purchasing the device.Because if you go to any shop/showroom, these people have their showrooms near to the Tower  location, hence the device works properly without any problem at the showroom. But it is not guaranteed that it will work at your place.

Ask for a demo at your location before purchasing. After all its your money so think twice before spending

Thanks and Regards

Pankaj

Bad Bad Bad .... worse than dialup net....
Mar 18, 2009 12:31 PM 18685 Views

I totally agree with all the points in the previous review. The speed never goes more than 5KBps. the dialup internet is much much better than this netsetters.

Moreover, u cannot just plug the device to ur USB. U have to use the USB extension cord and keep the netsetter device at the highest possible point. then only 5 KBps is possible. else, it almost drops dead.

Review Idea Netsetter
Feb 27, 2009 08:32 PM 23085 Views

I am using Idea net setter from last 2 months for surfing the internet, and as every one else I am very disappointed with the service and the customer support.

I will explain each and every problems one by one.

1- Idea net setter usage plans are fake. as they say if you recharge you account with 750/- Rs. you will get one month validity(that is 30 Days) but it does not work as it looks. when you recharge your account with validity of 1 month(Rs 750) it takes 36 hours to transfer your idea net-setter account to 0 balance plan. so you will not be able to surf for almost 2 days, so actually you are using internet for 28 days not for 30 days.

2- When I purchased idea net setter there sales person told me that I will get minimum of 20 Kbytes of Speed and maximum I will get is around 29 Kbytes. but actually I am getting around 1 Kbytes as minimum and 5 Kbytes as maximum spend. and regarding this I launched complaint to idea but they are help less, they are not at all ready to help.

3- You will not be able to surf data sharing sites like 4shared.com and rapidshare.com as they operate on your ip address and in idea network you will be under one proxy server so don't even think about surfing these sites.

4- Attachments for your mail account like yahoo and Gmail takes around 10-20 minutes to get attached to your mail. and that is if your are lucky! unless it does not work.

5- Idea net setter disconnects from network at least for 5 to 10 times in a day. then you have to again plug out and plug in your net setter card. then and then only it works.

6- About the customer care. none of the customer care do know about this product and it's functionality . one of My idea showroom customer representative asked me how to plug in this net setter in computer. and it was really funny. they don't know about plans and recharge methods also. they will tell you to plug in the Sim card in your mobile and to call to customer care. but there is no such functionality.

7- Idea cellular keep sending spam Text messages on you net setter account but you will never get message explaining your validity or your account status.

8- There is no way you can communicate to idea customer care if you don't have another Idea POST PAID cell, as from prepaid numbers you will never get chance to speak to customer care as it will be always busy and alternate way is you have to go to there My Idea showroom and talk to there Customer Representative who don't know anything else you have to throw away your Net setter Card.

Finally don't west your precious money on this worst product.Else go for other service providers.
