HP photosmart C4180 - worst
Dec 10, 2018 02:41 PM 885 Views (via Android App)

This printer would be great if it is worked properly. This printer jams a lot sometimes when its print. The yield on the ink is terrible in this printer. The max copying speed for this printer is upto 22 ppm. The printing resolution of this printer is not upto the level. I worked this printer mainly for multi functions but it stops sometimes if the multiple works done.

Very bad printer never buy it

I wish I could give zero stars!

I got this printer for free with the buy of an iMac from the Apple store. Truly, wish they'd kept the ridiculous thing. I had a more seasoned HP organize in with no reservations one printer that I gave away when we got this more up to date "update" - and kid have I lamented that from that point onward. It's been the most particular, conflicting bit of garbage printer I've ever seen. It continually loses its system association so that all the different PCs, portable PCs, Macs, & different gadgets in my home are not able to print to it. It happens to sit close to the iMac so we joined it by USB just to reconfigure the system settings(AGAIN), yet now the design programming hangs at "speaking with gadget" until the end of time. In the end, it moves beyond that and tries to inspire me to enroll the printer(AGAIN)- - yet totally avoids any alternative to design the system settings!

We've taken a stab at joining with our remote system by means of WPS utilizing both the PIN mode and the Push Button mode, since our remote switch underpins both techniques. Both strategies come up short wretchedly on the printer's console board("WPS mistake"). The entire thought behind WPS is that it ought to be push a catch and everything interfaces for you. With HP, they figure out how to totally overlook the main issue with that experience. The greater part of this, by the way, is being performed by somebody with numerous long years of involvement in the IT field so I'm not a system/PC tenderfoot by far.

At one time, HP was THE name for printers. You couldn't turn out badly purchasing their. After this hopeless experience, the awful setup programming, surrey drivers, repulsive site, and the absence of sufficient backing. I don't think I'll be purchasing another HP once more. EVER.

I bought Hp photosmart c4288all in oneprinter, thought it to be a good printer

well printer just looks good but otherwise it's not worth it's price, on that a bad service and support with hp which  was least expected .

The printer eats too much of ink, the color cart seems out of ink just after 15 printouts where as they claim much more printouts about 150 something

the scanning and copying never worked so can't comment about that

I am really disappointed with the support they provide

Following are my online complaints to them on 31st july and 4th august but no valid response received till now

I registered a complaint with hp on 28th for scanning and copying problem with my printer bought on 27th july from reliance store, I went through online chat troubleshooting also phone troubleshooting when it all seemed irrelevant as the support people can't help me much as I did everything they told me and my printer is scanning/copying black pages soaked in black ink. I was confirmed a support visit in 48 hrs from the time I called but no response received till now, even I called again yesterday and today also to follow up, not received any call till now

I had to return it

I really wanted a printer and scanner for my college work and so I went and got myself a Lexmark wireless printer. But since that wasn't compatible with leopard, I took it back, and got it replaced for a Hp C4180 because apparently, HP had drivers available for leopard. I unboxed it. It came with a lot of useless junk like HP cd labels and hp photo paper sample...ok, I admit that photo paper isn't completely useless, but a USB cord in the package would have been VERY useful.

I had no problem setting it up (Because I had kept the USB cord that came with the Lexmark printer) But the huge power-brick hanging from my table irked me. After downloading new drivers from the HP website, I was well on my way to using the printer. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. First, I had to spent around 15 minutes trying to figure out how the dumb 4x6 photo paper attachment was supposed to go into the tray.

I wonder why its even there! Another piece of hardware to take care of and keep track of. huh! Anyways, I gave the print command from photoshop lightroom (photo organizing/managing software) And watched the printer take in the first sheet, and immediately spew out most of it... and in the last part, started printing. And as you'd expect, it didn't finish printing the photo on there, and took in the next sheet too! I have thrown that away, or else, I'd have put up a picture of it here. On other occasions, wanting to print border-less has resulted in disasters... with the paper jamming or the print being misaligned. Scanning was a problem too. When I tried to use file>import>Hp scan Pro in photoshop, it always resulted in photoshop crashing.

I am using cs3 with all the updates applied. So I was forced to use HP's stupid scan pro application. It does have a nice 'scan tiff to adobe photoshop' option, and it would have been ok, had it not been for the automatic exposure adjustments. It always overexposed the drawings and photos. I had to manually go in for each scan and get the highlights and shadows back to zero.

]I really hope they work on these things. The other day, I took some pictures and wanted to transfer them to my computer. And I figured I'd try putting it in the card reader on the printer. And luckily, I could access the card on my computer! So this can also work as a card reader for your computer, besides being able to print directly from the card! But the lexmark one also had a USB port which this one doesn't. But I thought this feature was really neat! Then the final straw was the smudging of the ink! I print out my artwork for putting up in my room or submitting to the teachers. I also made stickers and was intending to print cd labels. But the ink is so unstable, that slightest amount of wetness will smudge it. I have sweaty palms. And so me resting my hands on those pieces while working with them results in it getting smudged and destroyed. Wet fingers destroyed a photograph by smudging the ink. Plus, my hands got black.

This is wasting very expensive photo paper. So I decided to take it back. What I also did like was the lcd screen which can be tilted upto 90 degrees from flat. Its nicely readable, and provides information and access to features. This I thought was a great adition to the printer that can print directly from memory cards. yeah, forgot to add, It also came with another faceplate with instructions in french (canada is bilingual.) So buy this printer if you don't care about durability or life of your photographs. or if you only want to print documents. the scanner is alright, not very lazy like most, and I didn't get around to testing the copier functions.
