Esys Wizard EZ4211
Nov 03, 2006 05:11 PM

Hello Everyone,

For a while I was thinking to write a review on mouthshut! Finally got the opportunity.

I lately purchased Esys EZ4211 12” laptop. It as following configuration.

Intel Centrino 1.8 ghz,

256 MB DDR RAM,

40 GB HDD,

DVD/CDRW 12X/42X

12” Screen,

Wi-fi, 3 USB ports

1 modem, 1 lan port,

SUSE LINUX 9.1 PROFESSIONAL,

Since I didn’t like the OS preloaded, I tried installing “Simply MEPIS” another linux distribution. For my luck it didn’t work. So I was forced to change to Windows XP Pro.

The laptop eventho didn’t had the XP OS preloaded but it came with all drivers necessary for windows platform and everything worked smoothly. I am totally satisfied with the performance so far. It’s the best buy for the price. I strongly recommend this laptop for everyone.

By the way I forgot to mention that the laptop is only 2 days old. I will update more about it later.

I hope this was helpful for other buyers. Let me know if any questions.

MSI Megabook S645
Sep 30, 2006 03:42 PM

Here's another Notebook that really hits the sweetspot as far as price and specifications are concerned. It Comes from the MSI (Micro Star International) workshed and like all MSI products boasts of goo and robust quality. The Note book is configurable allowing you to juggle your budget within 48- 62K )Apprx

These are how the specs go: I've highlighted the facts I feel are worth noting--

Operating System Genuine Microsoft® Windows® XP Home

Intel® Pentium® M Processor 725/735/745

Chipsets Intel® 915PM

System Memory Two SO-DIMM Sockets for expansion up to 2GB(DDR 333 SDRAM)

Optical Drive Combo/DVD Dual/DVD DL

Built-in 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN & Modem ModuleBuilt-in 802.11 b/g WLAN card

PC Cards Slots PCMCIA 2.1, Type II * 1

Card Reader MMC/SD/MS/MS Pro 4-in-1

I/O Port IEEE 13941Monitor(VGA) Port *1(15-pin mini D-Sub)USB2.0 Port *4Micro Phone Input *1Headphone Output *1RJ11 *1RJ45 *1TV Out1

AC Adaptor 19V DC, 90W / Input: 100~ 240V AC, 50/60Hz universal

Battery Pack & Life Li-ion 8 cells, 4400mAh, 3.5 hrsThe battery's life span has been tested with Mobile Mark 2002 software; however, the actual battery run time may still depend on the OS and software.

Dimension & Weight 355mm(L) X 255mm(D) X 29.9mm(H)2.9KG

It has all the necessary connectivity jazz. It has a very good Graphic card and a range of Processors

to select from Intel M 735-745 would do nicely.

ATA 100 HDD is respectable. You get a a combo drive and a good 15.4" screen. The price is lesser

than most of its classy counter parts. I've seen and used one. It looks sleek and respectable. This

is a very good machine as far as performance goes.

Only catch? Availability in India. Try logging onto https://msi.com> search for India> locate dealers of your city and ask them. That's wot I did. Here in Bangalore, the dudes just fizzled out.

Intex's Cyrix C3 Laptop - a Middle Class Luxury
May 08, 2006 04:16 PM

Time’s are changing. Technology is becoming better and economical too. Ard 12 years back, when I bought my 1st computer - AT Cabinat 386 machine, it costed me 35,000/-. I later came to know that one of my freind, in early 80’s sold a 286 machine for Rs. 2,00,000/- . Its really good to see computer going more and more ’poket freindly’ nowadays, and this Intex lable laptop (looks) gona play a very crutial role in decidng competitive rates in Indian Laptop mrket.

Product Features:

Cyrix C3-1.2GHz Processor

256MB RAM

40GB Hard Drive

CDRW/DVD Combination Drive

14in TFT Display

Wireless B/G

Windows XP Home Edition

1 Year Warranty

Cost as on 1st May 06, App. Rs 26,400/- (to the best f my knowlege)

I dont think I need to explain above features, they are self explainatory. Overall, I think its a good buy. If u r beginner, or wanna graduate from your Desktop to a Laptop, or just wanna tell ur freind, ’hey look - I got a new laptop’, go for it.

I am not sure, how far its graphic applications can be strectched, so all pro ppl - pls confirm that it satisfies ur specific requiremnts, as any upgradation in Laptop is REALLY expensive...
