A masterpiece by Sony, for RO 210 (approx RS 23695), it is amazing value for your money.

The Good:

First of all, it has a 990X digital zoom and 20X optical zoom.

It comes with a 2.5'' LCD Hybrid Touch Panel.

The camera is equiped with Nightshot Plus as well as a slow color shutter to allow entry of maximum light.

It has an automatic as well as a manual full range focus.

It has an effective 350,000 pixels (540,000 gross).

There is an ''easy'' button for beginners.

It has a backlit viewfinder for clear visibility.

For taking clear pictures even while the object is moving, the camera is equipped with a Super steady shot.

LP recording is a useful feature present in this camera.

There is a playback zoom for zooming on pictures/videos (X1.5).

The built-in mic and speaker help in recording voices very clearly and makes it heard clearly as well.

USB streaming helps very much for advanced users as well as beginners.

There is a special feature where background noise can be reduced in order for the voice of the subject to be heard clearly.

Movies and pictures can be recorded on tape as well as on a memory stick (MS).

One can record movies from tape to MS and vice-versa ( except audio which can be recorded from tape to MS).

The accessories supplied are an AC adapter, battery, remote controller, cables, lens cap, shoulder strap and a Picture Package CD-ROM.

Statistics:

Weight = 910g

Dimensions (W X H X D) = 8.5 X 9.8 X 15.1 cm

The Bad:

No Carl Zeiss lens.

No accessory shoe.

No external mic input.

No audio recording from MS to tape.

The Ultimatum:

Just go for it.

Sonyproducts can be bought everywhere in the world and why shouldnt they? They are absolutely fabulous. So recently I bought a Sony Handycam DCR TRV460V. Thats a fabulous piece a master piece indeed. But this materpiece has ONE MISERABLE CATCH!

It is claimed in publicity materials that it can directly burn into a VCD or DVD. That's true.. But what is not disclosed is that their software makes it compatible to burn only in few handpicked CD or DVD writers.

The list can be viewed on thier software providers ( http://www.ppackage.com) site. The further depressing part is 80 % of those are not available in India. If you need ''A'' model of LG, you have ''F'' model in India. To add to this that software is damn strict about the Firmware version as well... Aree Yaar.. Dil jalta hai jab I roam nook and corner of Lamington Rd not finding the compatible CD writer.

My pricey possesion has shut down my mood and all my expectations. Even the Sony guys say they can do anything. Can anybody help me?
