What's my MS ID? What is my NEW MS ID?

By: faisal Verified Member MouthShut Verified Member | Posted Mar 25, 2009 | General | 1702 Views

We've received hundreds of requests from members asking us to change their MS ID. In principle, we were opposed to that idea. Barring few exceptions, we rejected such requests (it's fairly complicated request anyway).

This past few weeks, after much deliberation with the tech team, support team and senior managers in MouthShut.com,we've decided to accept change of MS ID requests, subject to certain guidelines.

Sometimes in the first week of April 2009, you will see a special link to Request for MS ID Change in the Account Settings tab in your profile. It will lead to a simple form, which you can complete and then press submit. Once we receive your MS ID change request, and if approved, your MS ID will be changed to the new one after 48 hours.

Additionally, a list of OLD MS ID and the corresponding NEW MS ID will be published for the benefit of the entire MouthShut community.

I am sure many of you will come closer to your true self with your NEW MS ID.

Your love for MouthShut.com is what keeps us motivated.

Love you all,

--Faisal

Dont tell me .... It is actually a very mixed feeling. I had never thought of changing my id but then with the changes al-around may be someday .. me too :)

Haan, mapping the new ids with new ones wud be another challenge!

MS team would have a real TOUGH time handling the requests :) [Do we need to reset our alerts on members?]

Good luck!

Im amazed reading this. No websites will provide the option of changing the id (yahoo,gmail,rediff...).
If people are not happy with their current id, they should go ahead and create a new id and inform their trusted circle and delete their old account. Im really not sure why people are asking for such an option

What are the implications?
1) Does everyone see a change in ID automatically..in their TL, comments, profile visits?

2) How often would one be allowed to change IDs? (academic question really)?

3) In total, does it require any more actions from the user after the ID has changed to use the site normally?

Changing my MS id???? I never thought of that... & I dont want to think about that also....... All my ids are saved in my mind & changing my ids will give tough time to remember them.... & if I change my MS id, everyday I have to write a mail to support@mouthshut.com asking them my MS id as I'll keep on forgetting my id every day...... So as far as I am concern, I am not gonna use that link.....:) But for those who really wanna change their id.. its good for them.......Read More

We will honor requests that meet our criteria and comply with our guidelines.

MouthShut.com is not an email service provider. Your MS ID is your identity on the site. We do not encourage more than one MouthShut account by a single user, hence the suggestion of creating another account does is not worthy.

Your new MS ID will be seen everywhere, your reviews, Trusted Circle, ratings, profile, comments etc. Only your MS ID will change. No other data will be lost. Stats, postings, ratings all will remain intact.

One MS ID change allowed! It’s simple. It’s purely simple.

Nice move. Sometimes people create an ID without proper thinking and this may be useful for them. I would not like to change mine.
