New Year Bonanza - results announced and contest extended

Dear all:

The New Year Bonanza continues. There were several wonderful reviews, blogs and comments. On popular demand we have decided to extend the contest by another month. This means this contest shall have an extended run till March 8, 2014.

However, we have winners for the previous month.

Maximum of number of RODs – jmathur(Rs 10,000/-)

Maximum number of Featured Blogs – confusedsoul(Rs 10,000/-)

Maximum number of Winning Comments – countme91(Rs. 5000/-)

A small contemplative thought here.Monetary rewards apart,I sincerely wish that,time permitting, members write for the sheer pleasure of writing..Writing is an evocative vehicle for one's thoughts,a medium of exchange of various viewpoints,a fora for debate and discussions,and more than any thing else,in my view ,a means of self-fulfilment for the writer.No amount of material, or monetary rewards can,in my view, ever be a trade-off for these benefits,especially the last one mentioned viz. the personal satisfaction that the writer begets in writing,and the attendant pleasure he or she derives,when readers register their appreciation for his/her efforts.At best,the monetary rewards can be transient incentives on the journey that he or she is on.Regular contributors to MouthShut_Official would appreciate the import of what I have said herein above.

So let the celebrations continue,but beyond 8th March 2014 ,too ,with members writing ,for the sheer pleasure of expressing their thoughts.Cheers ! Regards to one and all !

When I joined MouthShut_Official in 2008, I never thought I will be associated with it for so many years, now MouthShut_Official has become a part of life. @pam53 has rightly said that with or without an incentive people should express and certainly @jmathur is among such writers.
