I've had webshots for will over fifteen years now when they where in San Fraancisco they where great and now I received an email the other day tlling me that my subscription had expired and it was now$29.95 a year or$2.99 a monthI never remember having to pay that before every year. I remember paying a one time fee for a Premium Webshots membership fee. And now because I didn't pay that fee I'm locked out Webshots and off lost all my photos that I have downloaded over theyears. And when try to contact support about it won't do anything .

Great quality photos. Photos from different place with every detail visible. I get to see a new place every other day.

Webshots always presents PROFESSIONAL grade photographs which cover various subject matter. The HIGH quality is apparent in every picture. Plus, through the photographs, it's like you're taking a journey around the world. ENJOY!

The very first Webshots was so awesome! It actually brought joy to my life. Then it changed to that smile bullcrap and then whoever these new jerkoffs who bought it just ruined it even more. It's horrific! The pics aren't even good! Such a shame how an awesome website went to complete and total shit!

I've had it for years. Used to be incredible. Then, several years ago, there was apparently some new company in charge and it got horrible. Then, it got better. Now, it is putrid. I cannot even update my settings any more. It just hangs on the website when I try to change settings. Another once-beautiful product that has been completely destroyed by greed and ignorance.

It used to be a great photo software once upon a time. But it suddenly changed everything & now it really sucks. People want the old versions of this software like 1.3. But it has been removed from the whole web. A nice photo sharing software degenerated thoroughly. If you see, almost all the good reviews are on or before 2004. That says it all.

It's a beautiful website and I recommend using it if you love images/wall papers of intricate flawless, spectacular designs. There are many categories to choose from. It's easy to set up your account. All you have to do is register, confirm your accounthrough your email and log in with your username and password. Then you are all set.

It's a friendly website. Depennding on what you are looking for, the categories are displayed in a easy-to-use navigation. You just take your cursor and with a click of your mouse, you are in .

I love the feel of Webshot.com it's a, lovely website. You can just take your time and enjoy the wonderful images/photos and see what you are looking for.

You just join with a log in name and password. There is a free version and a paid version. The free one has plenty so no need to pay.

Once your in there they will offer you a choice of a set of pictures to download first. pick the one you want and they will download and install. You can use these as your backgrounds and the same pictures will go through in rotation as your screen savers.

You will get an icon in your system tray and each day it will flash that new pictures are available. You can also turn that feature off.

You can go directly to the site and download your choice of free ones. There are tons of topics to suit every one. Mountains, lakes, wild animals, flowers, sunsets and the list is endless.

These all go in your photo manager. You can open that any time you want and find them listed in categories and change to what you want. I like to use the same one for a week or so before changing so I turn off the automatic feature that will change your desktop several times a day.

The pictures are top quality and fast downloads. You can spend hours looking around the site. If later you decide you have to many you can just go back to your photo manager and delete the ones you are tired of.

The program is very simple to use and I have never had a problem with it. I have been using this site few years.

Every week you will also get an e-mail of the photo's for the week that you can view and decide if you want any.

this site is very good and nice

The web shots provide such an amazing nature contents and images that one can have real glimpse of outside nature like they are experience. Their content are not so long but they provide short and good content. Sometimes content are also not very informative, but one can have normal look into it. Their depth of information is short. Its easy to use this website, one can simply type the webshots.com and it will appear. If you are having good internet and good surfing speed, than you can use it very early. It will take no time to load but if your are having poor internet connection than surely, it is going to take time to load. Conclusively, its wonderful website according to me.

This is not Webshots I remember this basically is an upgraded version that sucks so after looking I am uninstalled this application very useless applications . It`s does not show the daily pictures . It worked fine for other device but stilll my device worked not properly so many problems in this applications.

Sometimes I used have this one on my dial up connections on my computer. I installed it and now it won`t let me sign in and can not download any thing register or do anything are bad engine.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH WEBSHOTS STORE SO MANY PROBLEMS IN THIS APPLICATION I AM REALLY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I cannot find adequate words to articulate how much pleasure my family and I have received from WebShots. We have the free version on our computer and it works wonderfully. We are able to apply any picture we want to the WebShots gallery on our computer, including family photos we have scanned or downloaded to our pc.

The joy we get from seeing the smiling sweet faces of the young ones in our clan, the peacefulness that sweeps over us when we catch a glance of a calm lake scene, the breathtaking scenic views of the waterfalls and mountains that exhilarate us, the sunsets/sunrises that restore our faith and the adorable ones that fill our souls with glee. The program is very user friendly and also fun to operate.

The only drawback is that you only get to download 5 pictures a day from the site itself with the free program. However, you can sign up to receive the email notification when they have new pictures to view. You can also enhance your WebShots experience by adding your own pictures to the site for others to view, rate and download.

I highly recommend this program for anyone that wishes to perk up their computer background, as well as, enhance their spirits each day.

Hey guys, its been a looong time since I last had a chance to (or took the time to) write a review here... but I have a very nice site today for all and sundry. I'm reviewing a site named webshots, its quite a good site, those who have tried to post their pics online will know that there are very very very few sites which offer good service for free (for a price there a quite a few). This site offers not only free service but allows you to upload upto 240 personal photos.

Why Online Albums Well as time progresses I have noticed that there is a growing trend of friends and relatives not seeing each other for a very long time and when they do its for very short periods with everyone wanting to see all the relatives, and hence there is'nt really a lot of time to share pics or even to develop pics. So there has been the development of many internet sites which allow people to upload their photos and then invite users to come and check these out.

This is the really cool thing guysngals that this site offers, they have this software which is around 1.5 MB and can be downloaded from their site for free. This software can set the wallpaper which you can download from the site and boy are the pics amazing, these are photos which have been taken by experts, for people who like good wallpapers this site has the photos for you.

Another feature this s/w has is that of allowing to upload your photos. You can create albums, edit the photos, mail the photos as cards all without even having to go to the site and this makes it very convenient for everybody.

Conclusion

So according to me this site is the answer to the online photo album requirements for everybody. I'll be very frank I havent seen many other sites and hence cannot tell you'll if there are better sites but I can tell you'll that this site is very good at what it does.

WEB SHOTS.COM- this site is one of the coolest wallpapers site on the net .the site contains all kinds of downloadable photos ranging from nature to famous personalities you can even share ur photos on this site by becoming a member .but for downloading u need the webshots desktop which comes in 2 formats one a free version by which u can download maximum of 5photos daily while the other u can download unlimited photos.it is a clean website dedicated for the general public.the best thing is if u have a real keen interest on photos and if ur a photographer this the site to visit .You can even share ur photos and post views on others.my experience at this site for the past one yr has been just wonderful .it also has screen savers and you can also send greetings to your fellow friends and relatives .the pictures here are so clear u wont believe ur eyes.but I have recently come across a problem that it doesnt work tht is webshots desktop when u use themes (windowsblinds for example).overall it is one of the coolest website on the planet

I got webshots for myself 4 yrs back & that too accidently. but since then I have become very possessive of all my webshots fotos. since I got webshots onto my pc, there must have been more than half a dozen formats, but I have done my best to keep the webshots photos close to my heart & they have earned that imp. place. the site is quite well made & now they have an unlimited program, but till the time there were unlimited downloads allowed for free members, it was cool. but even now, u can download multiple fotos with creating multiple ids. the fotos are too good to resist with the worlds best photographers putting in their best. evry photo be it a natural, travel scene is a visual treat in itself & even if the ratings of the foto go to around 3 or 3.5, the foto is worth downloadable.noteworthy contributions are by imagestate, don paulson, kennan ward, scott harding, adam jones, etc. dont forget to view the photographers personal websites to view their coool portfolios. the next best feature is tht u can have ur own family album uploaded on the site, for multiplty viewing across the net.the download features r also simple so any simpleton can use it easily. added features to ur account like daily sites, news & a new foto everyday add to the extra zing u need while surfing webshots. even u can submit ur fotos to webshots & the next best thing is to get an unlimited foto membership which is at a measly rate & I am awaiting that. I found this site years ago, and promptly downloaded their free software. Since then, my computer screen has never looked the same. I always have some beautiful nature scene or a funny Garfield photo on my desktop!

I tried to recommend Webshots.com to some people (friends and family members of course), who also use computers. Now, I must say that these petty little things like ‘wallpapers’ don’t excite these people. So, the conversation went like this-

“ But what’s the use of this?”

“Stop acting like a kid.”

Now, they do have a point. Webshots.com is not some ‘essential’ type of service. But it’s a wonderful world of photos. A picture says a thousand words, and Webshots is a proof.

Here’s how you go about it-

1)Go to https://webshots.com, register yourself for free, and download their webshots software.

2)This software stores all the photos, and it will automatically change the wallpaper at preset time intervals. It can change wallpaper every 15 minutes if you want.

3)It also has options like calendar, screensaver, special effects, etc.

4)Then start downloading wallpapers from the various categories. The range is very wide and there is something for everyone. My favorites are Garfield cartoons with witty one-liners and the sunrise, sunset, beach, roses, mountains, water sports, lakes, travel collections.

My biggest favorite is a collection of photos of puppies that are just choo chweeet.

5) The quality of photos is excellent. They also have a search facility.

6)The webshots software can also be used for your pictures, which are not downloaded from webshots.

7)E-cards are available and the photos can be sent as e-cards, too.

8)They have an online store where one can buy posters, mugs, webshots CDs etc.

9)The site is well designed and navigation is simple.

10)There is also one interesting feature- the webshots community, where you can upload and store your own pictures. You can also download pictures made available by other members. There is also one paid membership option. Please check the side for more info on this, since I haven’t used these features.

Now regarding the cons- well, the site can take some time to load, since there are so many photos on each page. The download speed is generally very fast, but can be slow at times. Also, there is a restriction on the number of photos a free member can download each day.

Still, it’s a good place to look for wallpapers.

When it comes to art, you think it’s paintings and photographs and stuff like that and you know it’s not free! Think again, some of it is free! (Only if you can master it from trash or if not, there is something for your desktop!)

I’m talking about Webshots.com, a website that has got thousands of really staggering photos clicked by professional photographers which can be downloaded to enhance your desktop. I’ve been a member for the past 1-½ years after my friend persuaded me!

To get started, one has to log on to https://webshots.com (now that's elementary, my dear MS-ian), sign up for free and download the WEBSHOTS DESKTOP software and then go on to download the photos (maximum of 5 photos per day). There are a plenty of photos to choose from with a vary array of categories with sub-categories…(art, 3D Art, Nature, Flowers, Oceans, Birds and Animals, Religions, Travel, People etc.) So you’ve got at least something from whatever you like.

Here are some of my favourite pictures:

Posters(that aren’t watermarked), mousepads, mugs, postcards can be brought from the Online store(which come in good discounts!). Though the prices are in dollars, they are also shipped internationally. Webshots also holds a community where members can create their own albums and share them with others.

There is a small camera(optional) that reminds you of downloading new photos from the Daily Page. There is an e-greetings service which come in with sounds and other forms.

I have been looking and looking on the web for pictures to put on my desktop. I came across webshots and was absolutely amazed at the range of photographs and graphics that they had available. Anything that you requested in the search had available results. Webshots is a place in which you have to register. If you are registered as a limited member then you can download up to 5 pictures a day. U CANNOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT PEOPLE!! The pictures are of the finest qualilty. I especially like the nature section of this site. It is jam packed with exotic and beautiful pictures of beaches, resorts, lakes, rivers, national parks, islands, flowers. I have found yet another site that I just love! At this online website you can choose from a lot of various photos to download as a screensaver on your computer. This is a lovely way to start the day! And everyone in the family can choose their favorite and I can change the current screensaver to the new one. And there is so much more that you can do!

Now I am not interested in this Premium service at all. I enjoy the free features just fine and that suits my needs.

You also get emails when they have a new Webshot to look at. These shots are stunning! At least some of them are. And you can change your choices often if you like. Let me tell you, it is nice sitting down to the computer and having a beautiful picture of a mountain or beach or animal to look at first. (Of course the grandbaby will always look best to me!)

The software is easy to download. You simply choose a theme from the large selection, download, save, locate, install, and then follow steps to complete. Then you can change out your choices with no problem. This procedure will take anywhere from 2 minutes and up depending on the speed of your computer.

Other Services

At the community center you can find out all kinds of information on things like: Entertainment, family and friends, pets, hobbies, nature and various others. Each category has sub categories underneath that will take you to other pages, the pages load quickly and this is always a plus for me.

Under photos you can find a variety of photos posted by people from all over the place. See their families, cars for sale, jokes and humor and I have to admit this place can be a bit interesting.

Email Extras. Download for free a program that will help you to enhance your email! This is a fun thing to do. Of course I admit that I had to practice sending emails to myself to finally understand how it works but it’s cool. You can find this under the link “Backgrounds for your email”. It took me about an hour to download because I was also doing other things at the time. But once done it was easy to follow. There is a demo that you can watch and there is also a help section for you should you need it. You need to have access to Outlook express to be able to use this service.

Ecards! Oh my gosh these are just plum cool! There are many to choose from for all occasions! The load quickly and some of the ecards and epostcards are so cute! And they are free to send. You can also choose sounds to go with your ecard.

How I Feel

I have really enjoyed https://webshots.com. They have a large variety of pictures and photos to choose from. Having these beautiful screensavers to choose from makes my day sometimes. I mean for me to see such beauty every morning when signing online brings me a peace about life and nature. And sometimes one can just feel better when they see a beautiful picture.

I can buy selected photos as gifts, have them framed and wrapped even! This is good with the Holidays coming up! You do this by setting up your photo album. And from there follow the directions on ordering.

And using the family album has been wonderful. My daughter can upload pictures of the grandbaby and I can see them. I can do the same on my end with family pictures. And I can order copies of the pictures and have them sent to me if I choose to do so. This is a good feature as well. The cost for this varies from .49 cents up to $4.99 depending on the size you order, plus s/h cost, which varies from $1.95 up to $14.95 depending on if you want standard, priority, second day or next day. This is not bad at all!

Everything that I have ordered I have gotten in when I was told it would come in.

You also have the option to order coffee mugs, key chains, t-shirts, mouse pads and frames with your favorite photo on it!

When I downloaded the screensaver software I had the option to allow a camera to sit at the bottom of my screen in the task bar.. This camera will flash when a new picture is ready. This camera is also annoying! I have mine set to let me know once a week about new pictures.

The site is very easy to get around and that makes life good! I do change my screensaver out a lot so I enjoy being able to have lots of choices. I can send gifts with cards and my checking account is charged directly. This has not been a problem for me.

This is one of the fantabulest (I made that up myself...to mean...you know what!) sites for fantabulous photos. When I saw the reviews that had been written about this site/software, I was wondering if there was anything I could write that wasn't already written...but then I looked again...just 5 reviews for something as neat as webshots?? So...here's one more!!

Before I even fell for this software and its features, I visited the site, and saw the quality of photos there. I, then, immediately downloaded this software (for here is where the catch lies...without the Webshots software, you cannot download/view the otherwise full screen images.

The Software:

The software helps you maintain all the images. Once you download the software and install it, all you need do is visit the site, and click on any photo you like. The photo is then immediately downloaded to your system, and placed neatly within a category in the Webshots software. In this manner, all you gotta do is click away at the deadly pics...and there's plenty!!

This is not all that the software does. You can change your wallpaper from within the interface itself, and even set it so that it changes automatically at a regular period of time. You can also set it as your screensaver, wherein it scrolls through all your selected images.

Within the software you can create your own folders to organise your images. Mine has silhouettes, sunsets, green fields, mountains, flowers, wild animals as my folders (so now you know the kind of photos you get!)

The Site:

You need to create a username and supply a password (ofcourse!). One little bit of a hassle...but then haven't we got used to usernames and passwords by now?? However, it does not ask for your grandfather's name and your pet's favourite hobby etc (if you know what I mean!).

What I do, and I recommend you do, is go through the 'Daily Archives' of pictures. Starting from January 1999 I have gone through right upto March 2000, and selected about 250 pictures (out of 910+) that I have flipped for (every day Webshots features two pictures as Pics of the Day which you can download). Then I have organized these pics in appropriate folders from within the software. Each folder is saved and is called a collection. When you browse through to the Webshots/Collections folder, you will see several '.wbz' files. These can be copied onto a cd for backup, and can be installed in another machine that has webshots too!! I do that when I take these photos to my home PC from my office!!

Ah...the catch is that since each page comprises of plenty of pics, it takes time loading. However, when out of 20 pics, I see some that I like, instead of clicking on one (which opens a new page in the same window with only that image, which you got to click on again to download), downloading it, then coming back to the main page (containing the 20 images) by pressing the BACK button, I prefer to right click and open it in a new window, so that I dont have to press the BACK button to come back to the window with the 20 pics!! I just right click and open each image in a new window and download it from there.

Currently I am going through 2001, and am upto September 2001, and the photos keep getting better!!!

Someone mentioned that there are about 4 million images. I would be happy to have about 500-1000 images that really make me feel....'WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD'!!!!
