Do you Know?

Reading 'suyog' review on this site I decided to check this site.

The Index Page took sometime to download but internal categories links were really fast as compare to the Index page.

Contrary to its name the site is full of important facts.

The facts is basically divided into 18 main Categories like Animals & Creatures, People, Sports etc appearing on the center on the Index page.

Some of the facts that I got to know are.

1. The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119.

2. A jumbo jet uses 4,000 gallons of fuel to take off.

3. A rainbow can only occur when the sun is 40 degrees or less above the horizon.

4. The youngest Pope was 11 years old

5. Two dogs were among the Titanic survivors.

6. 160 cars can drive side by side on the Monumental Axis in Brazil, the world's widest road.

7. It is forbidden for aircraft to fly over the Taj Mahal

Check out this site to read many more…

On the Left side they have a category called as ''Brainteaser''. The section has 100 riddles, which keeps you thinking and puzzle at times. The good thing about the Brainteasers is that you can check your answer on clicking on the link provided just below each questions/puzzles.

If you are interested in knowing about which event took place today for that they have a section called ''Today In History'' where most of the important events are listed.

Apart from these they have many more categories but I can't tell much about those categories because I haven’t tried them much often.

The only thing, which disappointed me about this site, was there ''TELL A FRIEND''. The tell a friend link was not working when I tried to mail one of my friend about this site. Also their Index page could have been organized in much better way. Right now the index page has a very unprofessional look about it.

Gain useless knowledge and be amused!

I hit upon this site named https://uselessfacts.net quite long ago, but decided today that all my pals on MS should know of it; and thus decided to write a review on it. First things first, this site is for total timepass, and it may never help u in your academic life. Of course, all these obscure facts can be used to amuse yourself, or amuse those people who did'nt visit this site, or who are less witty than you!.

Consider these useless facts (just a sample though, to invite you that is):

1.A coward was originally a boy who took care of cows.

2.A hydrodaktulpsychicharmonica is a variety of musical glasses.

3.According to Genesis 1:20-22, the chicken came before the egg.

4.Arnold Schonberg suffered from triskaidecphobia, the fear of the number 13. He died 13 minutes from midnight on Friday the 13th.

5.Because metal was scarce, the Oscars were given out during World War II were made of wood.

6.Gone With the Wind is the only Civil War epic ever filmed without a single battle scene.

8.According to British law passed in 1845, attempting to commit suicide was a capital offense. Offenders could be hanged for trying. And so on and on and on.....!

The homepage is simple and comprehensive. The useless facts are neatly divided into many subjects like religion, legal, entertainment, food and drink and so on. All these regions have some facts which are quite informative (? dont belive me, see it then!) and of course humourous! u can also subscribe to all those facts through their newsletter as well. The speed of the site is also good, and shouldnt be a problem! The site also has a section called BRAIN TEASERS which put forward puzzles, and they are quite nice ones too. Go ahead and try them...some of them are real nasty ones!

A section on STUPID QUOTES is also there, which obviously gives some of the most obvious and stupid quotes written in history! You can also send e-greetings with cartoon covers to your friends. The cartoons are quites humorous too. A link to today in history lists what happened today, eons back!..nice way to know that something or the other happened everyday! All in all, its a great site to visit, improve your humour and wit, and at the same time, equip yourself with some strange information...who knows, when u might need them!!

Note: I have no idea about authenticity of all the facts stated. More than that, I dont care a damn to find out!!. As I said, read the facts, and ENJOY!!!
