This company's customer support is a nightmare and they are just Robots.If we are stuck and in need of help, we don't get any.I have experienced the following drawbacks with Upwork.com

1.They charge us to apply to job.

2.They charge commission on the job to Freelancers and Clients.

3.They apply their own currency rate in their favour.

4.They charge us to withdraw our own money.

5.If this is not enough, they even hide our profile and enforce to buy Freelancer Plus Plan.

So my dear friends, avoid this website at all costs.

Upwork is a SCAM site looking to boost their earnings in order to Sell it to some idiot who doesn’t realize the EARNINGS are a SCAM. Very bad service. I had a done job with 100% job success rate and before giving any notice and before taking verification interview they has been suspended my account.

If you're skilled and smart, Upwork is the right platform for you to live your dreams and be your own boss.

I hear people saying it is tough to get accounts approved or getting jobs on Upwork. But I don't find it to be true as I've been creating new profiles for my agency members, getting them approved and getting work as well.

So if you have the right skill set and you can prove that you're worth to be on Upwork(It's all about how you showcase and brief your skills and experience through your profile) then your profile will be approved and you'll get work as well.

At last, I would say I Love Upwork and It's been my pleasure that I find this platform which changed my life.

I hired a freelancer and he did some work and repeated pushed me to close the job to only find out that he has changed the entire coding structure of the plugin as he pleased without sticking to the guideline. So I opened a dispute to get my money back, and upwork has been dragging this without making a decision while the freelancer is not replying to the dispute. The dispute was reported and told to be open May 9th, 2019, and I contact them via chat both on the 9th to open it, 14th May to check, for them to to only tell to check back 2-3 days later, and then again on the 15th May I went to the dispute center, and saw that they have actually opened the dispute on the 14th of May and NOT ON THE 9TH when I reported it. Then they give me more excuses(T&C quotes) about their darn policies and tells me that the freelancer has 4 working days to report back or they will take ACTION. Today is 23rd May, 2019 and they have given the freelancer another 2 working days to respond WITHOUT TAKING ANY ACTION as stated & providing me more T&C's to justify there incompetency. Wasting my time and holding my money. Will never use these thief's again, taking the side of fraud freelancers and taking customers for granted.

It looks like Upwork only approves profiles of new registrants from certain countries. This picture clearly indicates a case of discrimination. I'm from Kenya and I have a fiverr and freelancer account, and so far, no other freelancing website that i've registered to, has denied my application. This is kind of awkward and I feel very disappointed. When you try to reply to their emails, they keep replying same email, like a robotic email reply, over and over. Wow! What a horrible company and what horrible support system they have! I'll surely never recommend anyone using it!

Hi today I am going to review on the site called upwork.com this is a freelancing site on which you can earn money by working for others and also give others work to do your work ok and you have to give money to them.

I got to this site a few months ago and I need a profile and submitted it and then it says that my profile would be confirm within 24 hours.

Birth date more than 7 days to give answer and it didn't even accepted my profile even after my excellent educational degrees and my portfolios.

After trying for a month I got my profile confirmed and then and when I tried to find work then and it showed that the 20% of the money which I will earn will go to upwork.

It also ask for money for membership of a premium account even after taking 20% of my money this thing really disappointed me.

I won't recommend you using this freelancing site because it service and support is very bad and it don't even tells about what was wrong about my profile.

Is it really a portal for freelancing work? or it is just website with lot of restriction. What ever you try to do maximum of the time you find it restricted, that's really hard to understand what policies do they consider. Dear upwork please upgrade your services.

Its very hard to work here as your profile takes so much time to verify. I tapplied on upwork but than I recieved mail from them that my profile cannot be approved so I cant work here I also try to signup from different email id incase of their approval but each time I recieve the same email of not approving! If you are applying for data entry and writting jobs then try somewhere else as they are not approving anymore from this category you may can apply for designing or something else that might approve your profile

I did not like upwork because I am trying to aprove my profile for am year . But do not get evem yet . AIm highly skilled in logo designig but whenever I tries to get my profile aprooved they send me massege 'sorry we do not find oppertunity in market place because many people have same skill. If many people have same skill thats why they are not approving our profile them what more talented peple do. Upwork have to focus on this part.

I am Architect and I have been working as a freelancer from last year. Initially, I was looking for Online Platform to receive freelance work. That time, I heard that Up-work is the world's best freelancing platform.

I tried to register there and tried to make a business from that portal many times, but I have to sadly mention, that this portal is nowadays closed platform for new freelancers. It does not support, new prospective freelancers. When I logged in and Tried to register there, my profile was rejected again and again from this portal. I received an email that, the positions of-of Architect, 3D modeler is already filled. Unfortunately, at this time there are already many freelancers with a similar skill set to yours and we cannot accept your application. So please try after few days. I tried at least 4-5 times after the interval of 15 days. But unfortunately every time I received the same reply and my profile was rejected. I now believe, Upwork is so much concerned about its own business and profit, that it does not consider it is important to include all new aspirants also into this platform.

I am currently successfully running my freelance consultancy business on Freelancer, Toogit, Truelancer.

As I working on up work since last one year as SP Design. My experience is very good with this platform and quite impressive. The features provided are impressive. Their quality standards are very good. You can increase your profile value by doing good work and giving a test about your profession.

Their revenue rate is also very low. So, you get a good amount of bucks for your work. You get good opportunities to increase your experience and skills.

Finally, if you are interested in doing work as a freelancer so this I a good platform for you.

When I started it was Odesk.com. Now it became Upwork.com. In starting we make many money from direct client but no doubt we pay Odesk as well whether it was hourly or fixed price job. When Odesk turns in Upwork we think there will be more opportunity we get but alas we are wrong. Upwork refined old profiles and resume there services telling different types of problems. Now there is a lot of new freelancers and very tough competition so I think getting any project is very difficult now.

So, firstly I would like to write an introduction of upwork for those who doesn't know about upwork. Basically upwork is a website for freelancers and the one who wants there work to be done, I did not liked this website as a freelancer as it does not provide much work and it's very hard to get approved as a freelancer from there end. My main point is when a person goes to a freelancing website that means he/she is looking for work, if as a provider of jobs does not approve there profiles then what's the point of your website and even after getting approved there's not much of work available on the website.

Upwork took my money!

I recently signed up at Upwork and had my first project which took me about 1 day of work. All seemed to be perfectly normal. I completed the project the client approved payment and then suddenly my account was blocked.

After reaching out to the Customer Service, they informed me that I had to verify several details. Which I did, then they asked if I could reach out to my client as there was a problem they could not explain. I reached out to the client and didnt get an answer.

Then I mailed Upwork during a period of 2 months several times, I hardly got any response, sometimes it took over a week to get a respond from Upwork.

Today I received the message(see screenshot attached) that because my client was fraudulent they won't be paying me for my completed work.

It has been a terrible experience working with this company. There CS is rude, unprofessional takes ages to respond and the worst: they won't pay me for my completed work.

I strongly advice to not work with Upwork if you don't want to lose your money. This company is a mess!

Here would like to talk about upwork web portal which provides the projects and jobs by clients to worker.

no doubt this is good portal to work online by sitting at home also, because we can put our bid on the projects and if we take the project we have to complete the task in given period of time.

Informatiion on this portal is so deep and all world put their project on this to getting done by others by giving them money.

But there are many disadvantages of this portal such as:

Biding is first problem over here because if we do bid on any project, it is not sure we will get that project or not because some people bid in low price and they take the project.

moreover the portal is too complex also it takes long time to get verified our account by upwork.

Website is not fully user friendly.

As on upwork its not so easy to make your account because they fully analyse whether the person is able to take the tasks or not if they found that the profile of the person is perfect and skills are good enough for the task then they publically open your accont to clients who wants to give the tasks. Upwork have two parts one is for clients who wants others to do their tasks skill fully and another part is the person who will provide the service of completing the tasks. As upwork takes the minimum interset from the profit of the task from the person who will complete the task. I can explain as if a person took a task of $3 per hour then the upwork will took $1.2 eventually they will decrease their rate as you will become expert on it. On upwork you will find per day tasks, per hour tasks, weekly tasks, monthly tasks, and per year tasks. As its depends on the ability, skill, and accuracy in work which the person will provide. Upwork can a very good way to earn money if you are having good english and understanding level as My CEO Aditya Yadav is running this company from last 3 years with 17 employees including me as if you find any query you can check on google RBD lucknow or Regal Business Developers Lucknow Gomtinagar Extension. It fully system work and 10-12th passout students can also do it.

Hi I have used upwork and it is realy giving me real money. Firstly I thought it will be like other websites which promisses that you will get a freelance job and you will earn but after registration you dont get job.

After registration on Upwork.com just within 2 days I got a work of PDF editer. As I had registerd then I did comunicated with client throug message to understand to what exactly they want in their PDF and then I had accepted.

Hardly 20 minute it took and I got 7$.

Isn't this nice.

I loved it. As you get more work client gives their feedbacks. And these sets your stars and again upcoming client can see your work and decied by your star how youfull work you do for them.

I got money from it. I am sure you will get also.

I my Adwords qualified and HubSpot Inbound Marketing certified.

I have consulted on SEO & SMM for many clients.

I registered on Upwork years ago, and gave up.

Last month I logged in again, and submitted less than 10 proposals.

Within 3 weeks my account was suspended based on "the fact that you have submitted a high number of proposals for jobs on our site without many contracts or earnings. Unfortunately, this means the jobs posted by clients are not a good match for your skills."

Less than 10 proposals in 1 month and I get suspended!

I appealed attaching my Adwords Search qualified and HubSpot Inbound Marketing certificates.

I offered to send my IIM PGDM and experience certificates.

Within 4 hours on a Sunday I get a reply that my account would remain suspended.

You may draw your own conclusions.
