I love https://livejournal.com. I have been using it for about 3 years. Once you pick your custom livejournal name, you have an account. With a free account you can upload three user icons. You can pick any picture you want, you just have to make sure it's the correct size.

You write as much as you want about yourself on your personal info page. You can put up to 150 interests, any interest you want! If you have a similar interest with another livejournal member, you can click on it and it will show the list of members or even communities.

I love livejournal communities. They have ones for depression, eating disorders, pretty well every band or actor, fashion and so much more! You can find other members on livejournals with common interests and you can become livejournal friends! You can update your journal privately, so only you can read it,friends only-where only your marked friends can read it, public where anyone can read it, or custom-where a certain group of friends can read it.

This is a very social website. You can comment on others post, debate, do whatever you want. You can post pictures, polls and all sorts of fun things.

It's also really fun to customize your journal, the colours, the headings. I really love this website. I much prefer livejournal.com to a paper journal.

LiveJournal.com is one of the best blogging sites that you will find on the internet.

Blogging for most of us needs no introduction.-- its much like maintaining an online diary about yourself which everyone else can see and comment about. Of course you can restrict/bar the kinds of people who can or cannot see your diary (actually called blog).

You would ask what is the benefit of blogging? well, its a community thing (well mouthshut.com is also a community thing , isn't it?)

In livejournal.com , you can make your own communities and and then have a discussion about anything and everything on this planet

Similarities with mouthshut.com

It is similar to mouthshut in the following ways

• it is also community and user based (whatever the user writes about, appears on the website

  
  




• It is extremely easy to use and it is addictive

Differences from Mouthshut.com

• Mouthshut.com is about consumer products and reiviews (mainly) and about things that we see and hear about whereas LiveJournal.com is more about personal things . It is more about us . For eg- we have a community of people who are Ferrari fans and those guys discuss , trade photos etc of Ferraris.

and we have communities covering almost everything concievable on this planet

(and you can always make your own community0

• LiveJournal is all about positing messages and discussing things (mouthshut is more product oriented)

Both these two websites have a different purpose and thus cannot be mentioned as competing with one another

the interface is clean and easy to use and there is a comprehensive help system to help you along

You can make people your ''friends'' and then you can have a lot of fun there.

There is a paid account also with more features but I dont think people will need it

There are also livejounal.com clients available. Clients are programs in which you can type your entires and save it and you can upload the entries later (Much like using Outlook Express or Eudora for mail, you do not have to be on the net to compose mail)

Overall its a very fulfilling web experience and one that you will really enjoy

So all of you start blogging!!

(NOTE: there are other blogging sites too, like blogcity and deadjournal.com but they are not that good or are paid - which make them bad enough for me :-)
