Linkedin is number one portal for developing a professional network, finding new career opportunities and building a you own career.
Users set up a free account and draft an online profile, only here profiles resemble resumes. Best tool of linikdin is the inmails. They spout it on their site that inmails get a better response rate than cold calls and emails and I honestly believe it to be true.
LinkedIN Premium is an essential tool for either a recruiter or job seeker.The linkedin profile is similar to a resume, with a summary section and job history prominently displayed. Once you are connected with coworkers & friends LinkedIn start suggesting people you may know based on shared relationship and company affiliations.

It is an awesome place for professional connect.You can have a great contact with high level professional people.It is just you have register about our job details and stuffs.We will get so much of help regarding our career.If our profile matches for a particular job opening then its great.
It is really useful in all aspects.It might be a great start for freshers and also for experienced.They do a really good job.
Linkedin was suggested to me by one of my ex-boss long time ago. Since then I am a regular user of this network. I have made a lot of good professional contacts through Linkedin and a lot of times have come across a good job opportunities as well. The best part about Linkedin is no spamming at all. A decent network with a decent professionals around. Today I don't share my resume with everyone, I just give them a link to my Linkedin profile and it speaks all about me.

It would be nice if there was a version of a "poke", or something less time consuming than sending someone a message.
I think that it can be a little difficult to make new connections on LinkedIn without being scared of getting too many unanswered invitations and(thus) having your privileges dialed back.
