I am a big fan of computer games from the day I started using computers. From those star war games which fires the alien ships to The Prince, Galecta & Wolf I know I can be an addict. Recently, I restarted my addiction to games with the new found web site, King. Some of my colleagues were playing these games online and I always delayed my entry to the site, knowing that if I enter, it will consume a lot of time. At last the inevitable has happened and now I am here to write my short experience about the site.
This is a website which offers skill based games and plays it on real cash terms. However, this cash based games are only available to certain countries. For example, it is not playable from UAE. It is even not playable for cash from many US States. For one to play it for cash, make sure that you fully read and understand their terms and conditions. My review is based on the free games available from the site which is playable through Yahoo Games as well.
The web site is owned by Midasplayer (.) com Ltd, UK and it was known as Midasplayer dot com in the year 2003. Later, in 2005 it got the web name, as www (.) King (.) com. The web site is said to be the world’s larges skill gaming site. They assure that their games (except fun and social games) are not games of chance. Since I am not open to the cash based playing my review is limited to its free version which only I will recommend.
The web site offers various free games which can occupy your free time. The web site claims that it’s games were played 350 Million times in the month January 2009 tells a lot. The site has its development campus in Sweden.
One has to create an id giving a valid email to start playing the game. The procedure is pretty simple.
The web site offers various games under different categories. There are 28 Puzzle games, as of now out of which I played 3 so far. Chuzzle (I like it), Seashell squeeze (New game, but not much fun) & Bejeweled2 (Just another variation). 19 Action games, out of which I tried 4 so far. Calorie King (Good), Carnival Shootout (I love it since I got the maximum stars on it), Goldfish bowl (disappointing) & BB Bathtub (A variation of Goldfish bowl, but better than the bowl game). There are 5 word games, but I am yet to try my luck on any of them. I don’t like to enter a game to lose and if at all I open a game in this section, it will be the Quiz queen. There have 13 Card games, I tried only the Hearts which is fun. I can see different variations of solitaire and pyramids. Out of 23 Strategy games, I played 2 so far. Cat corner (Disaster). Model Studio (Excellent….I am checking my nerves with the attitudes of many super models). Out of 10 sports games, I tried the Dart duel only (It is superb! Yes, playing the darts online with another player.) Overall, we can see that around 100 games and the chance to see your favorite game in it is more.
Most of the games have different championships which one can play. For example, in Chuzzle, you can play to improve your score and if you reach a particular point bar, you will get a star. Higher the score, another star you can avail. You may find an impossible target for a 5 star target but with practice it may be achievable. There are also competitions between players. You can either join a 2, 4 or 10 people’s competition. The number of people may vary depending on the popularity of the game. There is also one hour Jackpot competition which I found only belongs to the high scoring people but you can only show your poor skill there until you are a master. Games like Hearts and Dart duel are player to player basis only.
This site has many social networking site features but so far I found it gives the best of its kind. Like the MS points, King gives jewels and stars. Most of the games assure a single jewel and a star means achieving a particular score on a skill game. Once we reach a particular stage, we get a different colour stones. The edit Avatar feature is another excellent feature. What a concept!! Only with adding points we can get the eligibility to challenge other players, create a castle by using the stars we collected. The game statistics are updated on real time basis as well. One has to reach a certain point level to start writing blogs. Social Networking sites can learn a lot of points from this web site which is systematically planned and brilliantly displayed.
No two view on the point that to make a game good, the graphics should be excellent. The games from King have good graphic base. This also helped them to develop the social networking features beautifully.
Overall, the web site is good for free games for children and adults. Check it out and you are bound be an addict of it!! (For playing it by paying, I am nobody to comment, or to recommend.)
