Worst Bank Ever

The worst bank I have ever seen in my life. There is no proper guidance; they provide nothing. Only cut your charges for Bakwas options. I hate this bank. Please never open an account at this bank; you will regret it and hate this bank. They only debit your money and nothing else, and they also won't give it back. My 10000+ amount of Rs they debited for no reason useless cheap bank. Third-class service ever.

Been with the bank for 10 year. Have observed their service deteriorate over the last few years. Every 10 days get a call from a new relationship manager, their 3rd party call centers hound you like crazy and then slyly sell other bank products even when you have applied for a ICICI bank product(happened while applying for personal loan)


Their customer service fooled me into buying multiple credit card that split my credit limit and after 10 years my credit limit is kept at 30, 000 while my CTC is 35, 00, 000/-


Wrote tot heir customer care but there is no response. Looks like they have become extremely complacent


Charge Loan Interest above Market, Rude No Support

Being a 18+ year old so called privilege customer there is no support I have got from ICICI bank phone banking officer or a floor supervisor. I have already made around 5-7 calls, each call having waiting time of 30-45 minutes; then its very very tough to speak to their senior. In both my home loan interest reduction and credit card cases first time late payment waiver, the phone support officer always denied help, the first floor supervisor offered to waive 30% penalty charges with no GST refund. The 2nd floor supervisor promised 60% waiver but never turned back, the 3rd supervisor denied everything, got angry, rude and said that you won't get a single rupee waiver. So every time first wait 45 minutes, then repeat story, then officer would always say no(no matter what), then struggle for next 15 minutes to talk to senior, then if senior occasionally commits something it never is applied; repeat this entire process again and again, every time you'll find yourself lost. Their 4 step escalation is even worst, with each higher level, your waiver committed will be reduced instead of an increase and they never answers emails. Meanwhile one also might have to face their rudeness and arrogant behaviour. Their officer literally don't listen when customer speaks and keeps on repeating same thing in parallel, feeling you more frustrated. It's really very very pathetic.


For my home loan they keep increasing interest charges, I have never seen a reduction from their end. Currently they are charging me 10.20% on a 7 year old home loan interest(i.e. in Aug 2023), when most of other similar class banks are charging between 8.55% to 9.2%. Their online interest conversion tool always either gives an error or asks to take a full day leave from your work to physically visit their branch and wait there for 2-3 hours for your turn as its always always crowded, and their staff and security treating you like go to hell or do whatever you want. In the end most of the time their branch officer will deny your request simply saying that this is the best we could give. They do not think rationally even if I have tried showing them proofs of how much less my other bank is charging me on my another home loan. And they don't believe in retaining customers, so one would end up feeling a complete waste and good for nothing.


I have decided to move on to a better bank who still need customer, respectfully treat their customers and give them an extra favour once a while.


For ICICI bank, it looks like becoming another PNB, Natwest etc. Basically an arrogant company who might see its end soon in near future.

ICICI bank is deducting money wrongly in the name of ECS charges. When I called customer helpline number he told this deduction due to insuffient balence available on your account you charged for failed payment of 6 month old EMI created by you, which is not billed due to insuffient balence it is fine deducted from your account. I have never made any EMI payment like that and it is not notified before deduction or no email I have recieved related to that transection.


That fraut happened previous month it is not resolved.

We opened two NRE accounts with ICICI bank at least 5 years back and maintained decent balances. In last few months, our balance fell under Rs 10, 000. We were not aware about a small print saying that the account attracted heavy penal charges if the balance fell under Rs. 10, 000. There was no reminder sent to us to ask us to increase the balance in excess of Rs. 10, 000 when the balance fell under the threshold. This unscrupulous bank chose not to ask us to deposit the amount but ate away about Rs. 5, 000 over a few months and completely finished our balance. This is an open day robbery.

Without informing ICICI Bank deducts money from the account. For emergency if the money is kept they deduct account in the name of NCSRTNCH Charges. Day by day they are becoming fraud.


ICICI Ansal Plaza Ggn Branch - Unsupportive staff

This review is regarding ICICI Ansal Plaza Branch Gurgaon.


We have corporate account with them since 2017.


Whole team of unprofessional and lying staff. Facing issues for over an year now. Current issue is of availing FDOD facility, wherein firstly they delayed FD generation by over 10 days. Then they issued an'Inquiry Only' card making our ATM Debit card inactive.


Now we are in no position to make any online transaction and pay for our company's subscriptions. RM says we must have thought about this before applying to FDOD!


While they never disclosed it earlier in a desperate attempt to make sales; now they blame us for this issue!


I have been following up on calls and via personal visits for over a month now, earlier to avail FDOD and now for issue in cards.


They seldom respond to calls and if they connect, try passing the blame on to others.

I have recently started using ICICI services and have been having a weird experience. They ask to download 3 apps on your phone and the worst part of it is that you pay for calling on their toll-free number for customer support.

NRI Dormant Account

My NRI/NRO account became dormant due to non activity in 12 consecutive months during COVID 19. I tried to activate it online by depositing funds and following all proper KYC protocol. Since July 2020 till today I have submitted KYC required documents and information on line(3 times), than was asked to go to a branch in India to activate it. Ultimately, I came to India on Jan 2nd, 2022 during the third wave of Corona, to find out that they still do not have my KYC docs in the system, per Deonar, Mumbai branch.


Frustrated, desperately but Patiently, I submitted activation form of a dormant account, picture and my KYC docs again on Jan 4th. No affect. Surprisingly, my KYC docs were still not in the system till Jan 13th, so again they asked me to resubmit all above on Jan 13th so I did submit again. Now I am getting message that it would take 4 working days to get it active. Until than I am not able to use the funds for my expenses and can not go back to US as I do not know if this will become active or not. Every time it takes minimum few hrs to process the application.


FYI; I have not lost my patience so far, did not raise my voice for once and have kept my cool to be astonished by such an incompetent system and no worry by a single manager for wasting the time of an NRI and reputation of their bank.


I wish I had not thought of opening and investing in India through ICICI bank.

Horrible experience with ICICI bank's customer care people who handled my credit card. After submitting my application and completing my video KYC, someone showed at my doorstep stating that he is doing background verification. When I asked him for his ID card, he started saying that his mobile broke or something. Nonone from ICICI bank bothered to inform me that a background verification will be done and a person will come to my house to verify everything. Once that got completed, I got a message from the bank, 2 days after the verification that my application is rejected and that I should re-apply after 6 months.


1 week after the rejection message, I get an email on my office email address to confirm my identity. I wrote a stern email to them and never got a reply. 10 days after the rejection message I receive an approval message stating that my credit card has been approved. Same day morning a customer care executive named Aditya calls me says that I need to verify my office email address. The reason for rejecting my credit card was that they could not verify my office address.


When I asked him if I had given an incorrect office address, he said that no it wasnt my fault. Their underwriting team was unable to verify it. Since it was not my fault, I requested him to cancel my credit card. He immediately cut the call without even apologising once.


Please avoid taking ICICI credit card guys. They are rude, unsystematic and highly unprofessional people.

Not a convenient bank website to open an account

I had tried many times opening an ICICI MINE bank account, a zero balance varient account. The very first experience was damm miserable . I got my account closed instantly but to get the records deleted from the bank database it took 8 months . And the most frustrating about this is while opening online account there would not be any choice to select your preferred. They would map the home branch according to your pin code .

I've had the most horrendous experience with ICICI Bank this past week. Having been a customer of this bank for over 10 years, I expected a simple thing like having one mobile number for OTP for 2 savings accounts would just be a matter of a service request and it would be established. The difference is when employees are not aware of how to process this matter. I called the branch first and was told I couldn't have 1 number for 2 accounts! Then I called customer care and was told if I link the 2 accounts I could use 1 mobile number. So I did just that. What they failed to tell me is that the second account user id would be disabled. So it took me some time to see that I only needed to sign in on my primary account. Wish employees could explain to customers some of the system processes to avoid such scenarios. So many hours wasted with back and forth discussions.

I am really pleased and satisfied with ICICI Bank's services. Other banks do not provide the same level of excellence in salary and savings account services as they do. My family and friends have also opened bank accounts with ICICI bank after knowing about its services, mainly for salary and savings accounts. Their Imobile service app is excellent and easy to use. I would recommend to those who are reading this review to open a new savings account with ICICI Bank and take benefit of their outstanding services.

I have a bad experience with ICICI SIP. While I tried to invest in SIP, I did it very easily. Now I wanted to stop that SIP, and the SIP Customer executive team is not available. They cut the call in between, excuse something, and avoid customers issues. I feel like I am trapped after doing an investment in this.
