I think edx is best if you want to learn something online. I have Java and Linux certifications from edx. Also I had completed the CS50 course, so I will be getting the certificate for the same soon.

The best thing about Edx is that we can have paid as well as free certifications. Although the free certificates are not verified, but we can still get one.

It is really fascinating how Internet has changed the world. Now education get also be obtained via online education websites. I am a working person and as I have done only Graduation, I thought to attain my post Graduation Diploma course online. My collegue suggested me Coursera.org and I thought to register over there. I registered myself but found out that not all courses are offered for free.

The one software engineering diploma course I wanted was chargeable for certification. I thought to have trial of it via the study material provided. However, the study material over there was not available in free version and to opt for that has to pay. In short, only a few courses and journals, materials were for free rest was charged. I am okay with the charges but then only via video tutorials and soft copy materials have to study and pass the certification course was bit overly priced. In addition, it was advertised more on free online certification and courses and not like regular University providing the same.
