Sony KLV-V26A10

I purchased  this lcd sony klv-26v300a on 22/10/07 at sony world elgin road kolkata.

Initially I was very pleased with my purchase.. but soon after beginning last week  vertical lines/bands began appearing from the top of my screen looking as if water has seeped into the panel or something..

I called up sony India service and they sent an engineer to my place ...  after reviewing the problem he implied that this problem has never occured before...he also implied that I may have caused it.. but I showed him there is not even a scratch visible on the tv and and there is no denting anywhere

I gave in to his request to allow him to take my lcd to his workshop for further investigation.

I began reading up a lot of material on the internet regarding this problem and from what I gathered this seems to be a normal manufacturing defect .

I m very confused ..

members and experts kindly guide me on this matter...
