''Promising Too Much and Delivering Very Little'' seems to be an inborn quality among Indians. It happens with Indian Cricket Team,Indian Cinema and a good number of Indians. The film One Two Three is one of the latest additions to this category.
The theme of the film is about three handicaps and their love for a lady, and how they woo and explain their love to the understanding girl, throwing aside their complexities. And of course, the climax tells you the choice of the heroine and the reason for the same. The film starts very strongly explaining the tendency of three young men one deaf, one dumb and other blind to live a normal life without unfolding their handicap. These type of materials offer a lot for comedy and the director revels in producing natural comedy with the people. But after some intial moments the film goes on on slowly with songs and unnecesary situations. It was the case of a screenplay sounding so good and then entirely spoilt. The director pulls you back to the seat with the suspense at interval. But does no good breaking the suspense immediately after the interval. The way the three guys unfold their handicaps among themselves and the way they three woo the girl could have been told in a different way. From there the film moves at snail pace and finishes in a typical Indian tradition.
The three brothers Prabhu Deva,Raju Sundaram and Prasad start of very well playing the lead roles, but their progress thereafter is similar to the film.Off the three Prabhu Deva excels with his experience, while Raju and Prasad have a long way to go.Jyothika is not that impressive and only Karunas gains much accolades for his perfomance.
The main cast being exceptional dancers were expected to deliver with dance movements, but they disappoint. Also Raju Sundarams dance troupe have carved a niche for themselves, and they were expected to deliver greatly with their bosses. But they too disappoint.Deva also joins the list of dissapointing people.Deva who normally carves an encore for himself with Subash films has just given one hummable tune ''Aha Aha'', better known for its comic picturisation.
In short it is a film that everyone agree had a good nucleus, good cast and crew, but the only thing that came good on the screen were the shortcomings and ineffeciency of the director.
