I am writing here on Mouthshut after a long gap. I used to write a lot in previous year and happened to be a regular contestant of Write Share Win contest, but could not continue the process due to personal issues then professional engagement. In between, I often checked MS and read some new reviews and also shared my comments etc.but did not make it a regular affair from my end. "Time goes so fast, life asks so much". with time, I can relate to this proverb more and more and sometimes feel very sad and restless with out any known reason. What is this? Am I getting older even before 40? Who knows? I think, we should be positive all the time and age is only a number . nothing else. This time, during Durga Puja, I was just thinking about past year and the memory of writing on Mouthshut came to my mind. last time just before Durga Puja, my father was seriously ill and all my friends from Mouthshut gave me moral support with messages, Mathurji even called me up once. This time we spent puja in a less pensive mood, thanks to the Almighty. My father is still bed ridden, but with the grace of God, he is alert and talking to us . it is also a blessings from God and wishes from all people surrounding me physically and virtually. Then, I got a nice Diwali message from Mr. Faisal and MS also mentioned my name on its official write up . so I really feel I shared a special relation with this portal and thanks every single person related to it. Happy Diwali in advance! Read More

So, we can not ignore the power of Internet by any means. Apart, if we speak about India, we are now not satisfied with providing a low budget service industry segment to the west. We want to earn from our own resource with the help of Internet. Hence, thousands of start up projects have commenced off and some of them have really made it big. E-commerce sites in India are burning example of such entrepreneurship. Market Research has also become very important for the companies to stay at par with their rival brands. There is always a stiff competition in almost every single sector. Creating a good product and marketing it properly does not end the matter now. The main part starts when the products are in the store and on sale. Employees of any organization play the crucial role here. India is now playing matches in the qualifying rounds of World cup 2018. India is on Group D with teams like Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Guam. They started their campaign with a loss against strong team Oman. Oman won the match 2-1. Iran and Oman are considered to be power house in Asian football with their present FIFA ranking position 41 and 101 respectively. We all knew that it would be very difficult for the Indians to beat them in the qualifiers. However, football lovers in India expected a win against Guam at least, as it is below in ranking than India. India is positioned in 141 and Guam is positioned 33 places behind at 174th position. But, the boys of Stephen Constantine has just made us frustrated with their humiliating defeat against Guam, a small western pacific island having a population of only around 1.6 lac. Have we heard about this country before? But, India often lost to geographically unknown smaller countries in football. so it is not at all new incident. Now, India has to play both Iran and Turkmenistan. And, in the return match with Guam and Oman is also due. Unfortunately, Guam will rise in ranking with this win and face India again with higher ranking. So, it will be a morale booster for them. India, once a good football power in Asia mainly in 60's and 70's when they competed at par with countries like Iran, experienced a steady fall and now only satisfied competing with the SAARC countries like Nepal,Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. Anyways, things started looking better for last couple of years under guidance of foreign coaches, as India had shown some signs of improvements, though we are still far far below as per even Asian standard. Actually, Indian football is lacking in basic infrastructure. There is no dearth of talent and skill in the footballers at the young age, but they gradually lose direction with lack of power and stamina. Football is a body contact power game and Indians are way behind in this regard. With the process of country wide I League, All Indian Football Federation is trying to increase the basic infrastructure and standard of Indian football. Indians are get to play with and against some foreign footballers in I League, some of the Indian players go to Europe to play club footballs, but still everything seems to be in nascent stage. FIFA has chosen India to host the Under 19 football world cup in 2017, and every one is hoping this would be a great exposure to the young footballers of the country. Actually, once a popular sports in India now has become just a normal game with sky high popularity of cricket, most of the youngsters have also lost interest in the game. There is very little money in football if we compare it to that of cricket, scarcity of sponsors are there. all these factors make things miserable for Indian football. So, countries like Thailand, Myanmar are ahead of us. Even in Asian level, Indian football has nothing to take pride in, and word football is a distant dream for us and we can watch them on TV only. In order to be a power force to reckon with even in Asia, Indian Football needs a drastic change, now it is taking one baby step forward and hence we have to wait and see the future ahead! Read More

Random ramblings in a sad cloudy afternoon

I could not go to my work place for last 2 days, as I am suffering from Viral Fiver, thanks to weather change! We cried for rain and now after some shower, rain dance and party we are rushing to the medicine shops for paracetamol tablets! This is life. We are not going through a very stable or peaceful situation in our lives. Maggi, most of us just can not accept that we should not eat Maggi any more. Mummies are really tensed just to find out an easy alternative for their children! We all know the adverse effects of Maggi already, but yesterday, one of my friends texted me, " Life with out Maggi is terrible, and he felt like his salary is cut or his bus route is changed and his household peace went away, his kids are in bad mood"! Yes, the thought is crazy, I must admit. But, it is called Habit. Maggi has been our companion, our habit in several forms since our childhood. We have shared it with our friends at school, prepared Maggi at out hostel room on heaters before examination night or just to have some snacks when felt hungry at odd hours! I used to read the experience of people written on Maggi pack. No, I am not favoring Maggi anyways, I am just taking about nostalgc feel and hopelessness regarding Maggi. Life with out fast food is really really slow! (PUN INTENDED) Here in Kolkata the Skeleton Episode at Robinson Street home is now talk of the town. People are now going to watch this "Ghost House". What I have read in the newspaper, the incident is really really shocking, horrible but most unfortunate! Today, I have gone through a column written by an eminent mental health activist who just asks us to be more sympathetic to the victim. We are just making a good story out of ghost House, suspicious death, skeleton, sexuality, worship of tantra etc and media has to play more responsible and sensitive role. I also agree to this. A bright medical student of R.G Kar medical college in Kolkata got traced in his village by his childhood friends, who fled few days back from the medical college hostel just 2 days before his semester exam and kept his parents even the state police and administration in puzzled condition! Now, we come to know despite scoring good rank in his medical entrance exam and scoring good marks in last semester, he never wanted to become a doctor and wants to drop out from the course anytime. He was compelled to take up this course being pressurized by his father! Again, a common story. Why the so called educated and learned guardians fail to understand the mindset of their children? I just fail to understand. On the other hand, lots of students(and their anxious parents too) are now attending the counselling session to get admission to any private college in West Bengal. So, the rate race has started between the colleges! Each and every college is now busy eating the seasonal fruits. On the sports front, India played a spirited game under new captain Virat and we felt really good. Team director said, though the test is drawn, it is moral victory for India. Agreed. But, if we could some how showed this spirit against the mighty Aussie in the world cup semis! Now, Dhoni and Co has reached Dhaka for the one day series and sure we will whitewash Bangladesh, though Bangladesh always expects to whitewash us! Just search on you tube the keyword" Bamboo is on in Bangladesh" and see the advertisement! This ad has created quite a BUZZ and is really in bad taste! Even after 15 years of playing in test cricket, still they are minnows and it is unfortunate for cricket! Last but not the least, common people are still waiting for some ACCHE DIN. though we do not know what it is anyways! Read More

My personal opinion on " Write Share Win" Contest on Mouthshut

It has even helped me to take final decision on any purchase including insurance policy. I have become member of this site only around a month ago. I have been enjoying writing reviews here. I could start writing on it earlier, but honestly I really liked to read reviews of people, never thought to share it on the web. Some of my friends were regular writers on this site, but now they have become irregular. I have started with new force and I have mentioned about all these stuffs in my previously written blog. This time I want to express my opinion about the present "Write Share Win " contest and its significance while writing reviews on Mouthshut. First of all, we have to remember that it is a consumer review portal and people are allowed to write about the experience about any particular product or service in form of a review. So, the main objective of all these reviews are to create awareness among the people, so that they could take their own decision based on the written reviews. So, the reviews are nothing but your own experience while purchasing a product, while opting for a service, while visiting a website or visiting a new place etc etc. Usually, we always talk to our relatives or friends about our own good or bad experience about anything. But, they are only limited to the known circles only and facts may get pirated from people to people gradually. Internet has the power to spread your opinion worldwide and numerous people can be benefited from it creating a great awareness! So, one can easily understand the usefulness of such consumer review site. Therefore, being a responsible member of this community, it is our noble duty to write reviews based on our true experience. We should not write a review just for the sake of it. It is not a place to showcase your imagination. Yes, this blog section is a place where you can write your heart out. But, the review part should be based on one's practical, first hand experience only. So, if you want to write a review of a product always choose one that you have already used, and write your real experience. If you want to review about a place, always choose a place that you have already visited and mention all the details that you liked about the place or disliked. It should not be like a beautiful story, just write your own experience, that is it! People will just come to know about the pros and cons. This contest is certainly acting like a motivating force to write more reviews for all of us. But, the concept of this amazing contest is justified if we write only genuine and real experienced based review, not a hypothetical one. If we want to make this contest the most happening one, our focus should be only on writing about our own experience. It is the only way to increase the value of your reviews on Mouthshut and here lies the true significance of this contest. I have just written my own opinion based on my own experience and observation. Please feel free to express your comments or feedback. HAPPY WRITING! Read More

We have been just crying for a little bit of rain from the sky for last couple of weeks! With mercury soaring high with extreme level of humidity and discomfort level, people have become sick, frustrated and tired. Summer has been very cruel this time, it has punished the kolkatan heavily this year. For last 2 days, the weather changed in the afternoon with mild breeze flowing but again with in 2-3 hours, the humid and hot weather came back to haunt us. Most of the people spend sleep less night, so just think about the children! Everyone can not afford AC and if nature punished this way, human is just helpless. Global Warming and environmental dis-balance are basic reasons of this extreme heat flow and" no rain" situation. With increase of population this city has become a suffocated place to live in with increasing number of flats and complexes. Green is not seen like before, so the environmental balance is hampered even in suburban areas. Even the weather forecasters can not predict the exact time of rain fall. Actually, I saw in the morning on the newspaper that despite having a cloudy weather, we will not get any rain even on week ends. But, as the luck favors us today, we got a moderate rain associated with a thunder shower and cyclone. So, the weather is much better today with low humidity and temperature level. The rain did not last more than half an hour, still it was enough for the thirsty soul like us! Personally, I was so craving for rain, I got drenched in the rain on the roof of my work place as my body badly needed it. I felt like being in paradise while getting drenched. Now, the high time has come for all of us to come forward and save our mother nature else the human civilization will come to an bad end! Only nature can save us, no one else! Read More

Dhaka is the capital of neighboring country Bangladesh. Now, a history is created with the inauguration of bus service from Kolkata to Agartala via Dhaka, a foreign capital. In fact, those having idea of the geography of north eastern part of India can realize the importance of this bus service. Tripura, a tiny north eastern state is surrounded by Bangladesh by three sides, is only connected to main India via National Highway 44 going to Assam. To reach kolkata via Guwahati by bus or train it takes 2 days from Agartala. The distance between Agartala and Kolkata becomes around 1500 kms, but the distance becomes only around 350 km if the journey is allowed via Dhaka. For the people of Tripura, airway has been the main medium of communication to reach to Kolkata and from there to other parts of the country. So, this route is highly expensive yet people of Tripura have to afford it. Now, with this new bus service, they can hope for an affordable journey in less time frame. There is a basic similarity between these 3 places. Kolkata, Agartala and Dhaka speak the same language, Bengali. Though, Dhaka is a foreign capital, most of the Bengali residing in Tripura having ancestral root in Bangladesh and nearly half of the population in West Bengal had their root in Bangladesh( wrest while East Bengal). So, there is a similarity in language, culture and tradition. This bus service has been kept as a pending issue for so many years and people of Tripura have been waiting for this over a long period of time. Now, with the best wishes of both the Government this bus service has finally commenced off. Soon, the high officials of both the countries will fix the fare of the bus journey. But, the fair will be below Rs. 2000 anyways, far more cheaper then Agartala -Kolkata air fare. This bus journey will be a fascinating one while passengers will enjoy the bus ride over the river Padma in Bangladesh. The bus will start from Salt Lake Karunamayee Bus stand in Kolkata and and will enter Agartala via Akhuara Border in Bangladesh. The journey will end in Tripura Road Transport Service(TRTC) office at Krishnanagar in Agartala. Read More

Long way to go Mouthshut with you

I shifted my career to Search Engine Optimization(SEO) domain by this time. I used to search extensively on the web and I came to know about this website while I was digging on Google for some products review in the market. Honestly, I liked the website at the very beginning and mainly liked its Indian look and feel. 10 years ago, Internet scenario was a bit different with lots of UK or US based sites dominating the www. So, at that time, MS gave me a totally Indian taste and flavour. I remember that I sent the link of this site to some of my clients overseas, just to show case our exposure to Internet. This portal was a live example of a cool Indian site. I just wanted to show them that Internet in India did not only mean outsourcing where work is available at cheap rates. Some of my clients were quite impressed and compared it to other consumer review portals in their country. Now, 10 years later, things are totally different. Now, we Indians can take pride in lots of independent portals having desi flavour, desi taste and desi stuffs only. We are the powerhouse in the world of Internet now. And, we are expanding and booming day by day in numbers and acitivities. Netizens in India are surely topping the chart globally. So, personally, I was familiar with Mouthshut and occasionally read reviews of products on MS. It helped me immensely on several occasions to take some good purchasing decisions, mainly when I got settled after marriage. On personal level, amidst my busy working schedule( I run a small web developement firm in south kolkata), I wanted to do something just for my own. I enjoy my present work in this service industry but somewhere I need something extra beyond this project work, deadline, client communication etc.May be, I am caught with boredom after 10 years long on line working pattern, so I decided to do something extra with out hampering my present work and lifestyle. I was planning to launch my own blog for sure in 2015, but I could not make it due to work pressure even after 4 months of this year passed on. I was just leading a professional life. Being a SEO person, I have this odd habit to search on Google at odd hours just to check the SERP and ranking of sites. I did not remember the exact key phrase I wrote that particular day, but I landed up on mouthshut.com. I read some reviews and some blogs, as usual I liked them. Some of them were written in professional manner where as some of them were written in simple conversational style. It was extremely hot and humid that night and I was sweating even if I turn off the AC for 10 minutes. I took a shower at 1 am and applied Navratna prickly heat powder on my body and just whimsically decided to write a review on this product as I really like to use this powder in summer. This is the beginning. Once done, I was looking at my room as I wanted to write another review. I was on Herbalife diet for couple of months and it worked good for me. So, I searched it on MS and found it. Then wrote the second review. I did not even notice while signing up that there was a contest going on.Just after writing 2 reviews, I checked it on the home page and accordingly I shared my reviews on Facebook. Next day, when I logged on mouthshut in lunch break, I got notification that I have won Rs. 100 for my 2 reviews written last night. It really felt great though I could not share the good news instantly! I had to lead some people here at my office so need to be a bit strict and reserved! But, I messaged it to 4-5 close people as really I was happy. Not only for the money won, but it is like a recognition of my writings. Mouthshut has given me this recognition and I am grateful to them and feel proud of myself too! At the same time, I want to say a big thanks to Mouthshut for this amazing contest which is a brilliant concept indeed! With in short period, I was introduced virtually to several senior members of this site. I need to mention name of a single person, else it would be really unjustified. He is Mr. Jitendra Mathur. Mathurji has really been very kind to me and really inspired me in this process. I also like to thank Mr.Nishant(sydbarett), Maaz-Nawaz, Desigal for their significant comments and encouragements. I am grateful to all of them. I have completed 100 reviews with in just 20 days, I feel now I have so many things to write and share! I am given a platform to share my opinion as a citizen of a democratic country. So, it is my right to pen down my opinion. Not that I did not knew it earlier, but I could not think deeply about it and hence just read reviews and did my purchase. I never wrote my experience and shared with other. Now, I have decided to carry on with this site and I earnestly hope that blessing and wishes of all the members will be with me. I have noticed a fellow feeling between the members and that really amazed me where members address each other by name, not by username, so it is great. It is such a wonderful community! I have gone through several blog posts written by senior members and most of these pieces are informative, significant and relevant. I will continue reading them in my spare time as there are so many things to learn from them! I have got great comments, compliments from some of the members in this short time. All of these small remarks are my inspiration. My 2 reviews have been chosen as Review of the Day(ROD) and I was really glad! With in short time span, MS has been becoming a part of my life which is quite amazing! So, I do not want to stop here, a long way to go with you Mouthshut.com. Read More

Studying ancient period of human life, we have known how men learnt to ignite fire, how discovered wheel which is a landmark of human civilization. Men started to stay in groups, then the social norm of staying with a particular partner started. Thus, after hundreds of years of evolution, we have reached to the modern human society with lots of rules, norms, rituals etc. With evolution, human society have developed to a great extend, improved a lot. But, with all these improvements, we also developed a wrong residual product named "superstition". Sometimes, I wonder how this superstition has come a long way and occupied a significant place in our lives. Are you getting me now? So, which day of the week is your birth day? Please do not shave your face or get your hair cut. Ridiculous, isn't it? But too many people abide by this. even I have seen some people not to shave on the particular week day when his child was born! Is he the greatest dad? I have no idea. I do believe in GOD. But, I simply do not understand the concept of eating veg meals on the name of GOD when you are a non vegetarian . You are worshiping Lord Shiva, then please eat vegetarian meal on Monday. I do not know what is the relation of eating a veg meal on Monday with lord Shiva? He is the almighty, the super power, He is omni present, so how come we can please Him by eating veg on Monday only? The same theory applies to all the Gods. I simply do not have any clue! What is the significance of applying shampoo on your hair while taking shower before you give PUSHPANJALI on Durga Astami? I have seen many people in my known circle to do that. What is the logic behind this ritual? I do not know. If you are poor how come you can manage a shampoo? then a street side beggar has no right to pray on Durga Astami. Really? If you are taking bath in pious mind, before praying to the Mother Goddess Durga, it is enough for you . So, how come the concept of applying shampoo arise? No idea. One of my aged aunties told me that as we ate chicken the day before, we need to apply shampoo. Does it really make any sense? I do not know. We eat and the food is stored in stomach not in the hair where we apply shampoo! I can write about hundreds of such rituals that has nothing to do with our God or our religion still we follow it like ignorant people. Why so? We grew up in decades on 90 and things were more rational at that time. Now, we can see even with advancement of science and technology, many baseless rituals again resurfaced. So, often I am afraid are we really progressing as a nation? I have seen big hoardings on TV serials in my city where concepts like " Najar dosh", "Evil eyes" etc were main USP. Most of the TV soaps are showing baseless rituals and we have nothing to learn from them. So, do we care about them? I do not know. I am not against astrology. It is an ancient subject, but when I see advertisements on leading newspapers that enchantment of any people is possible with in 24 hours by black magic, I just get puzzled! How can they promote such stuff? Are they crazy? Then I think, people are crazy, hence these kinds of advertisements are published and in demand. So, is it a symbol of an educational society? On the other day, while commuting by metro, I have seen a college girl shouting her friend as she had drunk from her water bottle, as the bottle got spoiled and she can not drink it now as she had Puja today. So, in this hot summer, if your friend drinks some water and you get angry with it, thanks to your Puja at home, is it humanity for a modern, trendy, fashion conscious so called educated girl? I have no idea. Things have changed to adversities. People are desperate at one go to achieve everything in short time, and on the other hand they are just scared like a new born baby. Superstition has taken a top priority in our lives and we are just following it rigorously. Read More

We have already experienced the extreme hot and humid weather in Kolkata. Since last 20 days, there is no sign of rain, and extreme heat wave in the day time makes our lives almost miserable. Last weekend, I had to visit to other part of the city for a personal work. Metro station is now nearby to my place, so commuting by metro saves at least 2 hours of time while going to North Kolkata. So, I preferred to commute by metro. But, I was so unfortunate, there was no AC metros for me on my way both up and down. Some people were waiting in the station as they would catch up only Ac metro. But, I was pressing for time as there was a meeting scheduled at 5 PM in the evening, so I could not wait for AC metro. Anyways, I had to walk at least for 20 minutes from the metro station to my destination to and fro and I just faced the extreme power of the Sun God. I had to pass a famous market area near A.P.C Road, the stalls are shaded with polythene and shop owners are just sitting and talking to each other, there were no takers. Normally, you can not walk freely at this time of day due to so much traffic congestion in this area. Heat was coming out like blast furnace from the black pitch road. By 4 PM, I was back to my place, and I was totally exhausted by the time I entered in to my house. It was terribly hot, humid, dry and I have never faced such heat in Kolkata in recent past. Kolkata is famous for sweltering heat with high humidity, but this time it has got the summer like neighboring states Odisha and Jharkhand, where summer is extremely hot and dry. So, my dress is not at all wet and I was not sweating, but it was feeling like I have just come out from a burning oven.Later, I read on the newspaper the next day, loo was flowing on that day. Since 23rd of may, summer has really a taken a toll on the city life and we are just struggling to cope up with the summer. With the increased number of flats, residential and commercial building, green is hardly seen in any urban area. So, literally we live in the jungle of concrete.
