If I remember the first time I signed up for an email account I had only the option of yahoo mail. This is around 12 years ago when I signed up with yahoo. My experience was excellent with them in the initial years mainly because there were hardly other email providers available. At that time it was one of the best thing available for me on the planet as it made communicating a lot easier. I still use the same yahoo account because my same email address is with everyone. They also have a feature called Yahoo Messenger which was used worldwide more than what people use other social media at present.
To be honest they are no longer of any use in today's fast moving world. I have never seen any special feature they have upgraded since their launch. They have lost market as they failed to upgrade their servers and failed to keep pace with the technology. I have to send a number of emails on a daily basis and most of them have huge files attached. If I try sending them through yahoo then it takes hours to send a single mail which also sometimes gets failed in the end. I probably use other emails providers who use cloud services and sending huge files through them only takes a few minutes and is very time saving as well. So, yahoo doesn't have a single feature which can be beneficial at present.
It is also not user friendly at all because most of the time they are offline due to technical reasons and are not available all the time. Also, it takes a long time for the other person to receive an email sent through yahoo, which sometimes takes hours.
Recently, millions of data of yahoo customers were hacked by hackers which shows they are not reliable at all and users banking and personal information can be hacked anytime.
They are available at the moment through website and app but as per my experience the user interface looks very poor and I sometimes experience technical glitches. It is easy to install the app but very difficult to use it. There is nothing new in the features and functions and one can send, receive emails through them and they do also have a feature wherein if you suspect an email to be a spam then you can forward it to them and they will take necessary actions against it.
If we talk about customer support they don't have a number to call but can be contacted through email. The other drawback is the customer support doesn't provide instant reply and it can take a week to get a reply from them.
I have attached screen shot of my yahoo account so you can see how the interface looks like. It will give you an overview of what yahoo has to offer.
