Windows 8 the best operating system ever
Feb 06, 2016 11:50 PM (via Android App)

Windows 8 is the updated next version of Windows 7. Previously I was using Windows 7 and I was well acquainted with Windows 7 but after purchasing a new laptop from Lenovo having Windows 8.1 genuine I faced some problem while doing operation but after 2 to 5 days I  became well acquainted with Windows 8.1. Now I like Windows 8.1 very much because it is very user friendly( it is a little bit difficult but it is very convenient to use) . It provides lot of shortcuts .I like about Windows 8.1 is that it has got a tile like structure where you can put your apps or other file or any important toggle which you need, it is very interesting and convenient to use .Windows 8.1 also added a new store called Web Store from where  you can download apps and many other  books .

so overall I like Windows 8.1 very much it is very good and helpful for me. Basically Windows 8.1 is designed for touch screen purpose.

The Best Update
Feb 02, 2016 09:45 AM

Windows 8.1 has now been out for a few months and is a freely downloadable update. Microsoft has already released what is the equivalent of a first Service Pack for it,

Windows 8.1 Update 1. The latter should already have landed automatically on Windows 8 systems via Windows

Update; you need to have Windows 8.1 already installed beforehand. So did Windows 8.1 fix what was wrong with Windows 8? And does it really required yet another update in the form of Windows 8.1 Update 1.

From Facebook to the full-featured Mail app and modern Outlook, a "peek" bar in the modern version of Internet Explorer 11 and the new Windows Scan app, you get all of the Windows 8.1 extras that were teased in early 2013.

We are still waiting for the proper touch versions of the Office apps but that's the waythings work in Microsoft's new'continuous development' world. And of course, you get the interface changes and SkyDrive integration we saw in the Windows 8.1 Preview.

The Start button is back and you can use the same image for your Start screen as your desktop background.

SkyDrive is built in to sync files - on both Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 RT - as well as settings and the layout for your Start screen and desktop taskbar. But Microsoft's second bite at the convergence of PCs and tablets doesn't back away from what we still want to call Metro; in fact, there are more built-in modern apps than in

Windows 8, more settings you can change without jumping to the desktop and more options for how you position modern apps on screen. The question is how well these two platforms sit together, and how much of an improvement

  • if any - Microsoft has been able to deliver in a year.

Nice OS Currently Using it
Jan 31, 2016 07:37 PM

The windows operating system I have been using it since I using computers.when I first used the computer I didnt know that there exist other operating system.Because in india its rear to find a system with other operating system.

But later came to know many other operating system like ubuntu, apple's ios, android, haiku etc.i'm acquainted with few of them. my favorite are MAC OSX  and windows.

Different versions of Windows: The windows is very old operating system and came with numerous versions of it.Among the different version it had I liked the most are windows vista, windows 7 and currently using windows 8.1.

windows 8.1 is pretty much the same as old operating system with few changes like live tiles which are nice unlike the old icon which are static. The search is also improved compared to the old versions, syncing all the mails etc.

I have been using it for almost one year and i'm happy with it.

Windows 8.1 still has full start screen
Jan 23, 2016 07:59 PM

Redmond giant released the newer version of windows as 8.1 which hosted a certain new features into it but still doesn't manages to perform that well compared to Windows 7.

New features were:

Improved visualization of start screen- with setting to choose for tiles to background of start screen but still I personally don't like the whole screen start menu as it hampers a lot of usability.

Snap view.

Some adittional bundled apps most of which I don't use ever.

Tighter One drive(formerly known as skydrive) integration a definite good cloud feature to have.

Internet explorer 11(still a waste of time)

Unified BING search engine(definitely great to have but I still prefer google over it)

Option for Taking direct to desktop instead of start screen as previosuly done on Windows 8.

Support for higher HD displays, Micracast, 3D printing, Wifi-Direct.

though it was miles better than windows 8 but still it failed to impress on various grounds.

Since windows 8 initially was designed separately from its RTM versions these versions simply hogged to much GPU resulting in sluggish and poor performance specially of the games installed on devices and people upgrading on devices that used 2 GPU profiling more properly know as switchable graphics resulted in total chaos as non of the manufacturer were able to provide bios and other updates in time thus resulting is total system failures for few people. And this problem was still not adressed in windows 8.1 only question that I want to ask for it how hard was it microsoft as this feature was already available on winodws 7.

After the launch of windows 10 microsoft has rectified all its problem and provided us with OS which stand at par with the legends of Windows XP

Worst update of Windows
Jan 20, 2016 01:14 PM (via Android App)

I purchased windows 8 with Dell laptop. But this version of windows is very bad . It has many problems in it. They only worked with the appearance  and not on programming. It lags very much. It didn't respond many times . It slow down pc very much .

After getting updates this problem doesn't resolved. It requires many memory to installing. It requires very much data for updates. Store never open . There is some problem with store . You can not download apps or nothing from store.  If you are new to Windows then you can't easily use this.

Please guys I never recommend this to anyone.

Never installed this.

Worst upgrade ever by windows
Jan 16, 2016 02:41 PM (via Android App)

It is one of the poor upgrade of windows by microsoft.

It has poor graphical user interface, poor layout, poor application and system software, poor features, requires a lot of updates in a very short span of time, requires internet connectivity every time.

I have used this windows for three months and I got totally fed up with this upgrade.it was not compatible according to me and it was a very pathetic experience for me. I recommend each and everyone to not to install this windows as it the worst upgrade ever by the microsoft.

Windows 8.1
Jan 06, 2016 12:29 PM

I am using windows 8.1 since one year, I'm using pro version. I had installed windows 8.1 directly when I was using windows 7. The main reason I get attracted towards it is its appearance, smoothness and ease of use. Developers have made it very attractive. In windows 8.1 you can change the dimensions of the split screen which you cannot do in windows 8. Everything goes very smooth.

It supports all the latest updates of software and now days the latest software coming runs very smoothly on this platform. But here are some worst aspects of windows 8.1,  the major problem occurs in windows 8.1 is directX and other c+ files error. If you are installing a software or game then its very usual that many dll files would be missing. The biggest problem across the world is the blue screen error. It occurs at a good rate, whenever I use proxyfier or doing some useful work, just the blue screen appears saying that some error occurs and you cannot rectify the problem at all. sometimes the computer did not restart after blue screen error and it hangs the computer.

I recommend windows 8.1 but there are some worst aspects too, so choose according to your need.

Amazing UI and Average UX
Jan 05, 2016 06:20 PM

I was using Windows 7 and I got Windows 8 after registering on website. Microsoft just tried to make it smooth and flat. Win 8 had many great feature but overall OS didn't had ease of operation. After few months the give update to Windows 8.1

I would say Microsoft has improved lot of things in Win 8.1, especially the menu bar, task bar, file menu and start menu along with login page. I must appreciate their efforts. Most amazing thing is we can change the theme of the Start Menu which is the limitation of Win 8.

But same thing in Windows 8.1 there is no ease of operation, you get confused in the control panel and the network(including WiFi & Bluetooth) settings are very complicating. Overall appearance is great but User Experience is not up to mark.(Win 7 is better in terms of User Experience) Currently I'm using Win 10 which is awesome.

Windows 7 is much better than windows 8.1
Jan 05, 2016 04:43 PM

Windows 8.1 is the update version of Windows 7 and Windows 8. It contains many difference  services update version of Windows 7.

I think there is no more  difference between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 but the main difference is that Windows 8.1 has a large side bar size and also the alternator duration of screen is faster than the Windows 8.

The Windows 7 is better than Windows 8.1, if you want a reliable and very convenient operating system also the Windows 10 which is a mixture of Windows 8 and Windows 7 have a great screen and design layout.

Windows 8.1 has many issues like driver update issues and the booting time is greater than Windows 7 and also it is not unable to update the windows update directly from the server  causes the slow speed of laptop.

I think this is not a good operating system so we must go for Windows 7 or Windows 10 which is great in function compare the Windows  8.1.

I was introduced to windows 8.1 when I bought an HP envy laptop, that comes with a genuine Win 8.1.I have previously used almost all versions of windows starting from windows 95.I have used Win 95, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.I am a regular windows user and have also tried out different Linux Operating systems like Ubandu 8, 9, 10 Fedora 16, 17, 18 Backtrack 4, 5, 6, Kali Linux Red Hat and Macintosh variants like OS X, Leopard etc.

And I should say the most user friendly one I have ever come across is windows 8.1.Of course its not open source and is not as powerful as a Linux platform could be.But the interface design of Windows 8.1 is so elegant and touch oriented. Many drawbacks and bugs in Windows 8 are solved in this updated version.Windows 8 was a nightmare, full of bugs, often crashes and compactability issues for bridged applications. But 8.1 is real awesome.

They have extended the possibilities of the compactability tool which now lets you run older applications in older platform compact-able modes, which reduced the issues with them.Another amazing feature is that this one has never let my system hang on.It works smoothly and even if a high priority threads fails or becomes unresponsive the Os itself have the potential to terminate them to rescue the safe state of OS.Moreover task-manager is accessible under almost all circumstance, which makes the computer more reliable.Later I have updated to windows 10, but I will vote 8.1 over 10.Win 10 is more easy to use, but they have reduced the freedom to the user.I am thinking about going back to Win 8.1

Better than windows 7 and 8
Dec 27, 2015 07:41 PM

The flaws of windows 8 has been gotten rid off in this version of Windows i.e. Windows 8.1. The start menu is back at the bottom left hand side. You're allowed to log in direct to the main screen as was in the previous versions such as xp, vista and 7. This is also I would say the most secure windows as Bit Defender is inbuilt, plus system administator rights are required at every step. Though it can be a pain sometimes to keep clicking'yes'. But, then to keep your system secure you do need to work a bit, isn't it?

Combined with the right system configuration it would take less than 30 seconds flat to boot into your laptop. Though you would see 15-20 seconds is the max it takes. Some of the apps that are in built are pretty awesome too like CNN Money, Dropbox.

It would be right to say that this is the awesomest windows ever if you do not want to upgrade to Windows 10. Period.

Pros: Awesome windows version.  Very secure.

Cons: Takes almost 22 GB of hard disk space.

Windows 8.1 - the best os!
Dec 26, 2015 04:51 PM (via Mobile)

I am using the genuine version of Windows 8.1 operating system in my lap top. It was developed soon after windows 8 with improved features. It supports almost all applications. I can easily install games and play in its quality. I play games like asphalt, gta 5, far cry with least hanging problems. All the WiFi and bluetooth devices works without any driver.

Windows 8.1 looks pretty good. It has an awesome and user friendly start window where all the applications, files etc are available. It's perfect for Home and office use. It's easy to install, there are no demands like that for Windows 10. You can provide security to your files by adding administrator privileges so that it remains safe from outside applications.

There is no lagging. I love this os for its support and reliability of using. I strongly recommend windows 8.1 to anyone who purchases a new system

A touchscreen based OS
Dec 19, 2015 07:27 PM

Microsoft updates there OS every year. Windows 8.1 is a revolutionary os developed by them.In win 8 microsoft brought back the start button which was discared in windows 8.windows 8.1 is more fater than windows 8 and now microsoft starts concentrating there OS for touch screen based devices, which is a drawback as most devices are not touch based.

Even though they have made this effect minimum. With this os personilization got much easier as well.Win 8.1 improved so much better than win 8, So it is worth upgradation.I personally suggest going for this OS.

One of the best Microsoft has ever produced
Dec 11, 2015 05:52 AM

Windows 8.1 is an Operating System developed Microsoft and it's code name is "Blue". It is an ungraded version of the Microsoft's previous operating system Windows 8. Windows 8 was a big set back for Microsoft. Many people did not like Windows 8 only because it does not have any "Start button" at the bottom left corner of the desktop screen.

Since Windows 98 we, the Windows users are habituated with the "Start Button", we can not even think of accessing computer without it. Even on the earlier version of Windows 8, which was Windows 7 also has Start Button. But suddenly Microsoft removed that useful start button in this version and later on they realised this is one of the worst decision their designers and engineers has ever make. So within a year they launched another upgraded version of Windows 8 and they named it as Windows 8.1.

People happy get their favorite "Start Button" back and it has got all the features to be a good operating system for any interface like mobile, tablet, desktop, notebook. From Windows 8 onward Windows starts concentrating more on apps rather than software and that legacy continues on Windows 8.1 too. This makes this operating system easier to use with touchscreen computers and Windows phones.

It looks awesome and it is very fast and supports almost every hardware, that makes this Windows 8.1 one of the most successful operating system on Microsoft and it pulled up Microsoft from the Windows 8 set back.

Best for home and personal use
Nov 05, 2015 01:27 PM

Windows 8.1 good operating system which is very stable,  all the WiFi and bluetooth devices works without any driver.

It is the most stable operating system today can use for daily use and office use and company use.  All the drivers that will work on Windows 7 will also work on Windows 8.1.  If you are having Windows 8 please upgrade to 8.1,  issues in Windows 8.0 like WiFi and bluetooth problem and some pen drives or not detecting properly.

All the games and softwares works fine except road rash and other old Windows XP games.  The latest operating system of Windows is Windows 10.  Windows 10 is not stable as Windows 8 because it has many issues like graphics Driver issue,  and you cannot stop the update.   Windows 10 will use your most of Internet and will only allow you to use Internet when it is updated everything.

So if you've got update to windows 10,  please don't update it.

Please remember that only Windows 10 has direct x 12 which other Windows does not have that option.  So if you are a gamer and don't mind other issues you can install Windows 10.

Windows 10 is good for gaming.  Windows 8.1 is good for home use and office use.
