Rebirth is another creation of steinberg and propellerhead team.thier aim to design this software is to replace expensive hardware synths.Best for home musicians and djs.in its appearance simmilar to recycle the software is made of panels like two synth patterns and two drum n bass patterns.
Overview:
First panel is Synth panel this is where you create your melody and top of it there is transport panel which includes options like start/stop buttons and tempo button.in the top of right hand there is song and pattern mode.Second panel is also synth panel which can be mixed and controlled with another PCF(Pcf is synth controller effect.)
Below synth panel there are two panles which are drum and bass panel.you need to play with them for while to get good sound,once you practice on it you will make good music,below PCF there are delay, dist and compresser effects which are very handy.Yes that means it produce smooth as well as hard tehno effects.
Rendering :In Wav format.
Softwares appperance is not so good but as this software can be used in MOD mode so that its apperance and drum samples can be changed. also you have to create music using the knobs on the panels well this type of working is slightly irritated but once you know how to make music then you will not leave Rebirth out of your hard disk.
Software makers created this application for electroncia genre which includes subgenres like techno,trance,ambient,house etc.but I also doubt it will hardly help you out in another genre.
As far as price is concerned steinberg softwares are very expensive and you can not get proper technical support as well the cost of software for techo rebirth is 6500/- Rs.
Troubleshooot :
For PC it is not behaving well under win 95 & those of you are having win 98 and above it will work fine.
No linux version.
Final cut:
Go with it if you can not afford expensive softwares like reason etc.then with sonic foundry's acid and Steinberg's Rebirth you can create great music.
