Not good as i expected...!!
Jun 10, 2017 07:12 PM

As we already know that Norton Internet Security 2009 is popular. But here I would not say that it is fully secure. Because it is not providing a good security as I expected. Most of the viruses did not identified by this. It protect some of malware. But Here it is not that as expected. It does not have any advance security technology. Still I am getting problems with that. My PC performance get low. Even it is not fully success in removing of whole viruses and protect the web malware. It is user friendly and easy to use. But it is useless.

Norton internet security-An underrated antivirus
Jun 10, 2017 03:25 PM

To protect the computer from harmful viruses, trojans & spywares that are present in the internet or software programmes, we need a good antivirus that too badly.  The market is full of various antiviruses e.g. -Bullguard, Norton, Kaspersky, K7 & AVG antivirus. Out of these, I am using Norton internet security for years, which was recommended to me by my computer engineer.  From day one, I could notice the difference-the  antivirus with a class.  A couple of friends had earlier misguided me that Norton is a very heavy antivirus.  They still believe that, although I had tried to convince them hundred of times. But guys, this Norton internet security which I got installed is so good, that anybody can give a 10/10rating.  It updates a lot, but performance wise still it is the number one antivirus. Manyl important options present  there from scanning  in depth to live-update.  But my favourite one is deleting tracking cookies in seconds. I have seen  that some hidden cookies also got deleted with this option.  Proof- I deleted the tracking cookies manually, but after using Norton deleting tracking cookies option, I discovered that there were some more hidden cookies left.  My system is a twelve years old, but still norton is not making my sytstem look heavy  .The browsing speed is definitely good.Hence.I will like to recommend this antivirus to everyone. with a 10/10.With priced as Rs 650 in Amazon & Flipkart.I must say, go for it.

Its a must for your PC or Laptops!
Feb 08, 2016 01:37 PM

I've been using the Norton Antivirus software for my laptop for over 2 years now. Based on my experience, I would say that it is really good in  terms of the threat detection and keeps your  PC's and Laptops safe for any virus risks.

What I've experienced in my 2 years of use is that it doesn't slow up your PC/Laptop during startup or anytime during its use.

It gives regular updates and up-to-date protection from recent viruses. You have to renew your subscription every year and need to buy a new one. You need not install it everytime. You just have to enter the product key and the subscription will be renewed.

I just purchased one about 2 weeks back from Reliance Mart at 30% discount of the MRP of Rs. 1, 300. Not may stores give you discounts. At Croma mall, its available on MRP rate only.

I've used many antiviruses like AVG, Avira, Quick Heal, Kaspersky but nothing worls as efficiently and smoothly as Norton Internet Security.

Just I thing I would like Norton to improve is that it is only usable for a single PC. On the other wise, some of the other antiviruses like Kaspersky could be used for 3 PC's(A single Product Key).

Exe viruses not deducted
Jul 04, 2012 06:03 PM

A good security software.  This Norton internet Security software does not deduct some new viruses like folder.exe which takes the icon of flash player. if there is a folder called norton, the virus will take the name called norton.exe. And if u accidentally run it, it multiplies to each and every folder in ur system. Norton does not deduct this. Also it lags in automatic USB devices scanning (Removable devices scanning).

This is the problem till the current version i.e Norton Internet Security 2012.

Fastest security available, low ram usage , fast scan, less detection worst firewall

i have tried many security products NIS is one of them.Norton is greatly improved in scan less ram use, user friendly interface etc, but unlike mcfee , KIS or avira it has bad firewall, no vulnerability detection.detection , NOD, Avira have great detection rates .Its auto protect is great.i will recommenced KIS insted of NIS, because Nortons "internet security "sucks all the feature like fast scan , less memory consumption are available in NAV so why buy NIS ?

I mean if you wanna buy a true internet security product go for others but its antivirus engine is very good.though it cant detect much but you can spend money for its real time protection.so internet security & norton 360 doesnt much needed software.

Of course, you can use freeware alternatives, but you will need to download at least an antivirus (AVG, Avira or Avast), a firewall (Comodo, zone alarm), an anti-spyware (Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, superantispyware), an anti-spam(Spamhilator), a password protection software (KeePass) and a parental control software (K9)to do the same work, and when all of them are set to start up withWindows every time, it will slow down the computer quite a lot.

Protect your computer against a terrorist strike!
Nov 29, 2008 01:58 PM

How well is your computer protected against "terror attacks"? "Very well", you say. But unless you are an expert on Windows or a geek who runs Linux, the chances are that you have left the doors wide open for identity theft or hacking. Studies have shown that while 80% of computer users have antivirus protection(in the west) only one third of them update the virus database regularly. Furthermore, only a measly 20% have anti-spyware protection on their systems.

These startling statistics about our lack of awareness and insensitivity towards a problem that we face everyday is what prompted many companies to switch from offering standalone AntiVirus solutions to comprehensive security suites. While an antivirus protects your system against viruses, provided their database is updated regularly, the security suite integrates a number of other layers of protection to this base.

Norton had always been at the forefront of the battle against the computer baddies, but their software had suffered bad press recently because they became behemoths which swallowed computer memory in huge chunks, and slowed down the overall performance of the computers on which they ran. As a result, their 2009 releases concentrated on making the software leaner, meaner and faster. Let us see what the end result is like!

Norton Internet Security 2009 offers an antivirus, firewall, rootkit and botnet protection, anti-malware, anti-spam, anti-phishing and identity protection, all rolled into one smooth package. The program installs quickly and starts automatically when you start your computer. All the essential items run by default, so you don't have to delve into the innards of the software to turn the protection on. It also updates automatically when you connect to the internet, and so you will never run into trouble because you "forgot to update".

Unlike other security software, it does not keep giving pop up alerts every time a software tries to access the net. I particularly liked the identity protection feature, which enables you to save passwords, credit card information, bank details etc in an encrypted format, much the same way that Roboform does. It also scans your "at risk" files automatically when the computer is idle, reducing the chances of an infection even if you are complacent.

An add on file is available for download, which enables you to activate parental control, and prevent your children from accidentally accessing pornography or other undesirable sites on the net. This whole package is available for a reasonable Rs. 2700(approximately) for a 3-PC, 1-year license(which means that you can install it on 3 different computers and that you will keep getting updates for one year from the date of the first installation). If you have a credit card, you can buy the same software for Rs. 2000 from

.

Of course, you can use freeware alternatives, but you will need to download at least an antivirus(AVG, Avira or Avast), a firewall(Comodo), an anti-spyware(Spyware Doctor Starter Edition), an anti-spam(Spamhilator), a password protection software(KeePass) and a parental control software(K9) to do the same work, and when all of them are set to start up with Windows every time, it will slow down the computer quite a lot.
