This software will not help create your own logos for a Nokia cellphone, but what it will do is display mind-numbing test patterns, and color charts. If you are really, really bored, and possibly bombed out of your gourd, then download it and start messing around with your monitor.
Nokia Test Monitor was first written a few years ago when still had a computer monitor division. Nokia has since sold that division to Viewsonic, and focused on telecommunications instead. Nokia Test Monitor was used to help people diagnose monitors.
All this software does is display a bunch of test patterns and color charts to help a technician troubleshoot monitors. If you are experienced with troubleshooting monitors, this is a godsend. If not, then this software is a wasted 590k download. Nokia Test Monitor is not interactive, and the test patterns and color charts will serve to confuse you.
The software has instructions written in a wide variety of languages. There are test patterns for geometry, brightness and contrast, high voltage, color, convergence, focus, resolution, moiré, readability, and jitter. The help file briefly describes each of the test patterns available, but not much else. There is also a www button that takes the user to the Nokia monitor product page, but the link does not work.
Locating the software is a bit difficult; you have to search for it. Most of the sites that pop-up in search queries are located in Russia, and the possibility of downloading viruses and trojans is there if you use some of these sites. Nokia Test Monitor is not available from a more well-known, and trustworthy ftp site unless you do a more thorough web search.
