The annoying spyware (which is also detected by lavasoft ad-aware) cannot be removed as it is needed by the program to run. That is, Kazaa would not load without these files. I should know, I tried removing them using Ad-aware.

Kazaa has another con: it makes your computer prone to crashing. I've only used the free version (with the ads) and I've had all sorts of errors in my laptop. Even my sister's desktop and a few other neighbors have noticed this problem. I just recently uninstalled Kazaa and my computer now functions better.

It's such a shame, since I really like this program. It's user-friendly and very fast. But I don't think I'll sacrifice my laptop for a few free files.

I know that I sound like a commercial now, but I do appreciate things that give people good options. We should, however, always be mindful of the copyrights of record artists--how we reconcile that with file sharing programs is difficult. I use the program to preview music, so that I know what records to purchase when I actually go to the store.

Even for people like myself, who is far from being a computer expert, Kazaa is easy to use. They have lightning fast downloads, and they give users the option of controlling messages sent, the number of downloads and the number of uploads that can get into your computer. One suggestion I have is to limit the upload level, so that people arent always getting into your computer. But do share, since that is what keeps the program going.

Yes, theres been some talk about pop-ups and spyware. I'm not a big fan of that. Admittedly, I dont know much about that and I havent personally experienced the problem myself. Its a valid concern however, and since I hate pop-ups, I read the other comments and took note of the different ways to deal with it. I really appreciate the comments people gave on that regard.

I find Kazaa to be easy and fun to use, and I recommend it highly to people who are looking for a good way to find music that they are having problems locating.

So alright, they thought they banned Napster for good? They thought they could hold down peer-to-peer sharing? They thought people are actually going to buy music again? Hence Proved - they don't have brains to think!

KaZaa is definitely far far more successful over Napster, and much more convenient too. Remember connecting long hours at a stretch because there is no 'resume' in Napster? Alright - here's a surprise. You can not only resume, you can download from many multiple users at once. Also, you can listen to your music while downloading it.

Also - you can download video, software, documents and more!

Over the past 5 days I've downloaded over 7 latest hollywood flicks! Okay, I hope no one's gonna catch me for this! You also get third party softwares for KaZaa to enhance its performance. All in all, KaZaa really is a net-freak's dream come true. It has lots of features, the new version also providing skins, adult filter and the works. KaZaa has a very user-friendly interface and its very easy to get the hang of it, especially novices.

There is a large range of search options to help you find, just what you want. Of course, you also have easy messaging among users. The best part - you can download, and disable uploading (sinister grin)...!

There are often bothersome ads popping up, but again, you have cracks to fix them, dont you :) KaZaa promises to be more than just a peer-to-peer file sharing software. It is a bigtime favor done to mankind ;) Okay, maybe I'm going overboard, but in short, it is kinda damn cool.

After the demise of Napster I was despondent to find another place of the web where in I could find and Download music and my choice of artists, having tried various MP3 searches a friend of mine on the net (we play chess online often & share similar tastes in music) suggested me to try KazAa.com to find great music which wasn't available anywhere else or you had to pay to access that music. I downloaded the KazAa Media Desktop and ever since have been getting access and sharing music, videos, movies, documents, software with people on line.

How it works: KazAa works on the principle of P2P (Peer 2 Peer) sharing, i.e. when there is someone else on line who is willing to share his/her collection of MP3 etc. and you would also like to hear or watch you can download that particular thing using the KazAa Media Desktop.

In the past 3 months I have made up an unenviable collection of all my favorite artists and movies by sharing files. It is so amazing and easy to use. If you want to search for a particular song invariably you will get hold of it on KazAa.

You ALSO HAVE THE OPTION OF NOT SHARING ANY OF YOUR FILES. (Those worried out hacking can rest assured that even when you are downloading from another person your files on your computer is safe from other people). Those you have slow connections will definitely have to wait for their downloads to finish as some of them can be up to 11.2 MB but people with Cable or DSL connections will be able to complete faster downloads & like Download Accelerator you can find more sources to download the same file from thus making it faster as simultaneous connections make it faster to download. It also has the facility to resume downloads and chat with other people (another option which some users turn off). Overall it has very good user control options for limiting what kind of material you want to share with other people and if you don't wan to share you are in a position to cut other people off, but I think that is against the whole principle of P2P.

There are other sites like Lime Wire but I found that the availability is much greater in KazAa, then any other file sharing network, as files from Gorkster & Gnute, File Shareing etc are also available to users. If you are only interested in Music another such P2P share is called Blubster.com wherein only MP3's are available. For those who want easy access to rare and previously costly music or video's this is a great way to acquire some of your favorites. I am hooked onto it... Try it out, if you want access to some great and rare music along with the latest videos and files.

Searching and downloading MP3’s and MPEG files was never easier. KazAa has paid the big music corporations for access to their artists music, overall a very good software with far reaching effects on how the internet can be used (misused) in the future!!

Well what can I say all have placed their opinion about Kazaa and recommended it at 100 % , well I disagree completely so what if it is free and so what if I can download mp3, Video, and other stuff.All it boils down to is service firstly all indian users face the problem of Illegal error which keeps coming the moment u get connected and if u close the illegal error window , kazaa shuts down.

Then the speed of downloads has gone down very Slow . It takes ages to finish a download. The speed, Service and support is so sad of Kazaa that as of today I am just check download.com everyday for the arrival of a bette software.

Even after mailing them 10 times there is no response, Which boils down to one thing that all good things come to an end. In the start The amount kazaa's speed, user interface and other good things use to please has all vanished in thin air. Overall I feel its not worth downloading Kazaa. The Use has lost to no use.

Having read all the reviews on Kazaa, I think that no one is aware of a major problem with it.

From user point of view, yes, Kazaa is excellent. Missy has written an excellent review describing its features. This program is fast, well featured, and just plain fun. It is also really easy to upgrade to a new version. Lot's of users, lots of files, and no disconnections and it connects easily, and works smooth. The interface is web like and is pretty simple. It is the here that I saved $25, by downloading FIFA 2002!!!

Oh yeah, coming to the major problem. Kazaa installs a spyware (Cydoor) without the user?s knowledge. Simply put, a spyware is a program that resides in your computer and sends information to the companies. This information can be anything; from the sites you visit (useful for finding out what sort of advertising to target you with), to your credit card numbers, bank account details and almost anything, which a company can use to target you with specific advertising.

This spyware that comes in package with Kazaa monitors and records everything going on while you use your computer whether online or offline, it sends your info back to Kazaa network, Kazaa will then sell them to third party companies. This partially explains why you receive junk mails day after day of companies you never heard of, trying to sell you their most of the time super crappy products. And you wonder how the hell did they get my email address and even know about my interests? blah blah blah... Well go figure.

Ok, now to the fun part. This is where I tell you how to beat them. Do those annoying ad popups really get on your nerves ? (blame it on the infamous Cydoor) Do you want to get rid of these popups for good ? Yes you can do so. Oh yeah, please mail all your cheques to my Swiss account. What? You thought I was going to tell you for free?? Get real.

Oh well, what the heck.

You can remove the spyware (Cydoor) by using the Kazaa Spyware Removal Kit circulating on the Kazaa Network. Simply download the Kazaa spyware removal kit and you are on your way.

Out went Napster and in came kazaa. I bet the musicians are now upset over this new MP3 program that allows people to download any music they want. Napster was a mega hit, but it was shut down, and now we have the new kazaa. What is kazaa? It’s a MP3 program that allows you to download a song of your choice. It is not only used for downloading songs, but you can download a full program, or a movie, or even a video. You can do so many things. You share your files with others and enjoy the fun together.

This program is easy to download, and once you download and install the program then you can start enjoying the benefits. It’s very simple to use and if you have a dial up connection then the downloads will take awhile, but if you are connected to the internet with a DSL or Cable connection, well then it will be a breeze to download files and enjoy them faster then a dial up.

If you have a CD burner then you can enjoy making your own music CD’s with out ever having to buy a CD again! I like this because now you can make a CD that has many different types of music on it. You don’t have to listen to just one singer; instead you can make a CD with a variety of music and singers! I would consider this type of CD to be like the “NOW” CD’s that are available to buy.

Well the name said it all. I was a happy chappy using napster, when out of the blue it suddenly took all of the songs away forcing skinflints like me to buy their music.

Well I wasn’t up to this so I went about finding an alternative. And I feel that I have a clear winner: Kazaa.

I was told about it my mates and I went to the site and down loaded it (the site is https://kazaa.com). It took the average time, about 10 min. When it was complete you have a short cut on your desktop. I double clicked on it and a box in the left hand corner came up and a bar was flashing vigorously from left to right. After about 5 seconds it went. The cursor changed into a timer for about 20 seconds then it went back to normal, as did the computer.

By this time I was really miffed off by this entire occurrence, due to I had delegated nappy!! So I went to it again and it done the same again.

I left it a few days and an ''K'' with green; blue and red came at the bottom left hand side of my desktop.

I have been a user of kazaa now for about six months now and it is the best downloaded application I have downloaded as yet. if I find a better one I will informe you. Every thing I have searched for I have succesfully got.

I logged onto the Internet and opened it up. I registered and I was off. At the top of the Kazaa window there are several options:

START: this is the home page to https://kazaa.com there you can access a lot of other things.

MY MEDIA: when you have downloaded things such as: audio, images, videos, software and documents. When you have completed the download it appears under what you searched for it. At the top it tells you how many in total you have downloaded.

THEATER: when you download a video or software you can go on it from here.

SEARCH: the main part of the application. You can search for a number of things ranging from Koalas to KoRn. If you do not know what it falls under then you can search for it under all of it, but if you need a more specific search then you can search for the specific ones. You key in the appropriate things and all of the products are produced in a window on the right. When you place the cursor over the product it gives off information.

TRAFFIC: when you are pleased with the find and you have double clicked on it to download it, it appears here. This also displays a range of information about the product that you are downloading. On the left it gives off the name of the product and what the percentage of the download is complete.

All in all I feel that Kazaa is the top downloading application.

This is the same as my morpheus with kazaa substitited as morpheus. this is for those people who havent heard about Morpheus. I downloaded Kazaa because you needed to get on to morpheus to download the latest version, but alas I couldnt get on!!! Kazaa rules

This is, of course, a security measure that many users take to avoid hacks, viruses, and other problems. Overall, this is great software. I have been using it for several days and have found all sorts of files that I could not locate anywhere else.

For example, does anybody remember a band called Elastica? YEARS ago they released a song called ’’Connection’’ that I have not found on the Internet before. I just found it tonight - after about twenty seconds of KaZaA’s searching. But, this software is not great to use in conjunction with America Online: The rest of my Internet connections (such as to MouthShut.com) are significantly slowed down because of this software. However, there is a very good reason for this: MP3 downloads are almost twice as fast in KaZaA versus regular Web browser downloads! I can’t even begin to tell you how much time this has saved me! So go ahead, former Napster buffs - download this software. You shouldn’t be disappointed.

In closing, I would like to make two side comments:

1. The advertising banner at the bottom of the screen is there so that the creators of this program can continue to distribute their software for free. Click on it every now and then when you have nothing better to do.

2. Delete all copyrighted MP3 files within twenty-four hours of downloading - this is the law. Also, if you like the artist, support him or her: Attend concerts, buy merchandise, and get the album you just downloaded! They’re trying to earn a living just like the rest of us.
