I am a die-hard fan of ICQ. It is a wonderful chat/instant messaging

tool. Over the years it has developed more into a community and a

culture with the varied services it brings.

The latest version of icq even enables you to get messages on your

mobile phones and you can even make international phone calls.

I have met lots of wonderful people and icq has helped a lot in increasing

my contacts. You meet lots of people from different walks of life and

different ages. All in all it has given rise to a new internet culture

and has redefined modern day communication.

This is the most coolest chat software I have ever seen. it has so many chat options which you never get in a website be it yahoo or something else. the best part is that you dont have to logon to any site to start chatting just click on the flower and BOOM you can start chatting now .

ICQ, when launched, took attention of the whole world, especially Indians. Its easiness and combined with all the features make it my favorite choice of chat software, well atleast for now! ICQ has all features inlcuding birthday reminder which to me is very helpful because next time I can be reminded with a hyperlink to send a birthday card to one of my friends. Also, ICQ has good chat features inlcuding 1-on-1 chat and group chat, although I have never used the group chat. There are also plugins for ICQ for doing all sorts of things. One of my favrotie ones is BuddyPhone which is a pc-pc phone service which has integrated its software with ICQ.

The only thing I am afraid about is that since AOL has bought ICQ, they can do anything to it. I really don't want to see any changes that are not asked by the ICQ community but I am afraid AOL will take some big decisions to yeild some quick bucks from it... and that shall lead to the collision of ICQ, if ever! THere are rumors like AOL might put banner ads in ICQ just like they have in AIM.

ICQ...A cool service in itself...Great for talking to friends with...

A buddy of mine introduced it to me...And ever since then I've been hooked on...

I have many a friends all over the globe..And what I found with ICQ was, that it was a pretty good way to communicate with one another..It was just like using a phone..But instead of verbal communication..We're typing words to each other...A little time consuming for the average Joe who's a bit slow with the keys...But overall it's a great pleasure typing in words...You can basically write down whatever the hell you want..And get a way with it too...

Okay the downloading process can become a bit of a headache...So many questions and answers to fill in..But none the less it's a cheap and effective way to chat to one another.
