I tried zoomcar earlier this month in Lucknow. Overall, it turned out to be a pleasant experience due mostly to the local fleet assistance. as the pickup point was located in the basement of Singapore Mall(Lko), the app wasnt working but Mr.Jitendra, the fleet staff efficiently solved the problem.
Pros: The hourly charge, as well as the security deposit, is within the affordability limits of mid-income class.
I received the security amount in 7 days(though the app and website mention 3-5 days).
At Lucknow Singapore Mall Pickup point, the fleet assitance is very supportive resulting in a pleasant experience!
Minus points: The supposed-to-be Customer Care(1860123966) never picked up the phone in 3 days. All my emails too recieved auto replies without being read!
Lessons learned: If you find good assistance at the pickup point then all should go well. You cant depend on the remote CC. however, they do read and reply on the facebook so its worth trying there if faced with some issues.
Do remember to flash an email to the CC anyway -if only for your own record-after completing the trip reminding them to return your security deposit at the earliest.
Also - take pictures and videos of the car -exterior and interior -prior to starting the trip so as to capture all the scratches and dents/any other damages otherwise you might be charged for those.
All in all they are fair about monetary issues.
