From the first day I start using pc, I use winrar only for rar and zip extraction not because it is easy to use but it has many powerful features. Winrar is an ultimate compression tool, it has feature to split the file into separate volume easily.winrar supports many compression formats i.e. rar, zip, cab, iso etc. In my best experience I used winrar as a security locker, you can put your file in a archive and set a password for protection.winrar automatically identified its association file type. So in my experience for any compression handling give the responsibility to winrar.
