My experience with Virtusa has been deeply disappointing and stressful. The company operates under the guise of offering remote work and flexibility, only to completely flip the narrative once you're onboarded. Here are some major red flags I encountered:
Unrealistic Workload: Employees are constantly burdened with overwhelming work expectations without proper support or resources. Burnout is rampant and often ignored by management.
Deceptive Onboarding: They lure candidates with the promise of remote engagement, but shortly after joining, employees are forced to report to office. Worse, youre randomly mapped to different teamsoften from entirely different locationsjust to justify this change. There's no regard for what was promised during hiring.
One-Hour Terminations: The company has a ruthless and unfair termination policy where employees are let go without warning, sometimes with as little as one hour's notice. This shows a complete lack of empathy and professionalism.
Notice Period Exploitation: While the company can terminate you instantly, employees are expected to serve a full three-month notice period if they want to resign. It's an extremely one-sided policy designed to trap talent.
Toxic Leadership Culture: The senior leadership seems more invested in PR than actual employee welfare. They frequently produce flashy internal videos showcasing themselves with different teams, creating an environment filled with pretentiousness, favoritism, and resentment rather than inspiration.
Hostile Work Environment: The cumulative effect of all these practices results in a demoralizing workplace where trust, transparency, and respect are completely missing.
If you're considering joining Virtusa, especially based on promises of remote work or a healthy culture, be extremely cautious. Whats presented during the hiring process is far from reality. Employees are treated as disposable resources rather than valued contributors. There are far better companies out there that respect their people and deliver on their promises.
