Sunil Datt was a actor, director, producer and politician. He was born on 06 Jun 1928 in Jhelam, Panjab and died on 25 May 2005 at Mumbai due to heart attack.
His childhood name was Balraj Dart and later on became famous in the film industry as Sunil Dart. He married to Nargis Datt, she died on 03 May 1981. Their children are Sanjay Datt, Priya Dart and Namrata Datt.
He was minister of youth affairs and sports in Manmohan singh Govt and son Sanjay Datt is a actor. He started acting in early 1950 and became popular in the film industry in 1955 with his film Platform. He acted in plenty of films and directed many films and became very popular and famous in the "film jagat". His few famous and well known films are - sadhans, sujata, mujheminedo, padosan, hamraj, gumraah, khandan,
man ka meet, heera, nagin, jaani dushaman and also Panjabi film Man jeete jag Jeet, sat sri akal and tere naam.He got good name and fame in the Hindi film industry. He was very nice person as a human being, cooperative and helping nature. Because of his good work, public liked him very much as a minister.
He was honoured with several awards for his attractive work in the film industry like- Filmfare best actor awards twice in khandaan and mujhe mine do, national film award for yaadeiy, padma shri award, sheriff of mumbai. Filmfare lifetime achievement award and glory of lndia award. He contributed everything to the cinema jagat and to the nation and died on 25 May 2005 in Mumbai. I salute to that great personality and I pray God to take care of him.
