My Experience with NoBroker: A Cautionary Tale for NRIs


As an NRI trying to manage property back home, I thought I was making a smart move by hiring NoBroker to handle my apartment near the Hyderabad IT hub. I wanted peace of mindsomeone to find tenants, manage rent, handle maintenance, and keep me updated. What I got instead was a frustrating, costly lesson in misleading sales tactics and poor service.


🎯 The Sales Pitch That Hooked Me


It all started with a call from Udit Narayana, a sales rep based in Bangalore. He painted a picture of seamless property management: tenant search, verification, rent collection, quarterly inspections, and even maintenance. He assured me that if NoBroker couldnt find a tenant within a set timeor if I found one myselfId get a refund. The fee was pitched as a one-time, lifetime payment. It sounded ideal for someone living abroad.


Looking back, I now realize how carefully crafted that pitch was. It wasnt just optimisticit was deceptive.


Once I paid, Udit vanished. No follow-ups, no updates. Instead, I was passed around to relationship managersPatan Rahamthulla, Sai Teja Chowdary, and Rohit Dixit. Their focus? Not finding new tenants, but asking for details about the existing one. They even contacted my tenant directly for site visits, ignoring his schedule and causing unnecessary tension.


When I pressed for answers, one of the managers admitted something shocking: the sales team routinely makes false promises just to meet their targets. The actual service? A far cry from what was sold to me.


Eventually, I found a tenant on my own. I submitted the rental agreement expecting the promised refund. Thats when NoBroker changed the rules. They claimed the rent was too low and refused to refund me. After multiple escalations, they agreed to process the refund in 45 weeks. Three months later, Im still waiting.


Ive since discovered Im not alone. Many others have faced similar refund issuespromises made, then ignored.
