I don't use the disk for heavy operations or computation. I don't really care how fast it is. I really care that the movie files I store on it are safe and playable easily / clearly.

I can attest that after 1.5 years of storing movie files on this disk, they are all safe. They are also very crisp when I stream them to my TV.
