Escape, ''the Fun Place'' as they proclaim at the entrance of the pub is really a fun place.Hailing from the Bangalore, the watering hole of India or better know as the Pub city, I keep on hunting for pubs whenever I visit other cities. Comparison is not my idea, but having seen lots of pubs and having my own favorite list ,i'm hard to satisfy kinda guy :-)
Escape came as a good surprise when I visited Hyderabad. Located inside Hotel Green Park is this place. Right from the entrance I had a feel that this place has something different.The place sure is a big one and can accommodate groups and groups of pubbers.The decor is also impressive with nice sitting arrangements for twos to big groups. Service was the thing that impressed me the most. The guys sure know how to handle the customers. The etiquettes, promptness and casual talk with the new people, Man I was bowled over.
The day I visited the place was a Saturday ,Pub goers will agree with me that this is the day to get sloshed over. The crowd on the day was trendy, with more of mid aged people. And Hyderabad is no different from Bangalore so here the clock strikes 11 and there they stop taking your orders.Of course u get the time to finish your last sips and enjoy some more music.
Music was little disappointing .Sunny, the DJ sitting on his console in the centre of the pub accepts more dedications and less requests. The music was more on the Techno side than Rockish .But I guess he has to please the crowds and not individuals .I'm told that week days are good for Rock Lovers when the pub isn't much crowded and u can have him play your requests. None the less he played some good numbers including Floyd, Tom Petty, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple and The Doors.
Complimentary snacks on the house do most of the good and then u can order some starters .It's not worth mentioning their names as everything is good over there. Pitcher is to start with and then one should move on to Sex on the beach (a Vodka based cocktail) .Rates are no bar as this place sure doesn't leave a hole in your pocket.
Hungry after the booze ? Move on to the restaurant of Green Park , the hotel to which Escape belongs and if u'r ready to wait till 12 then u can have the taste of the Midnight Biryani, a dish Hyderabad is famous for.
Hyderabad people have fun, u got a Gem of Pub with u.And I definitely am making more trips to your city.
