Devanahalli is just an hour bike ride from my home, so if I get a day off from work, I will just ride to Devanahalli Fort and then to Nandi Hills. It is located right on the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway.
There are only 2 places of note - the fort and Tippu's birth place memorial.
The fort has always captured my imagination since my childhood. Its enormous walls, now defunct moat, military architecture, the temple right in the middle, and of course, the great warrior-martyr, one of the first fierce fighters against the British, Tippu Sultan's birth place monument are all my favorites.
