Look & Feel:

“I have been watching this show since I was a kid” say most kids in their late teens and early 20’s on the show.  Javed, Naved, and Ravi, the creators, the hosts, and the judges of the show never get tired of listening to this phrase over and over because it has been around for 10 years.  These three incredibly cool people in their 40’s make everybody feel welcomed and they give exposure to the much needed talented kids of India.  Due to the warmth and the passion for dance in this show, the show has audience of all ages.

It was off air for a little while but came back with a boom or should I say “BOO!”.  As most of the viewers of the show, I too enjoyed the leg pulling of the contestants and the comedy done by all of the judges.  However, this show is more about talent.  I am so amazed by the contestants on this show.  As a viewer, you get to see a variety ranging from hip-hop dances to classical dances of India.   Some are excellent break dancers while some are excellent folk dancers.

After its reincarnation, the show has become more serious.  The stage looks more stylish and it seems as if the producers are spending more money now than before.  They are also including money prizes these days to encourage people to continue their dreams in the dancing industry.

Another good thing about this show is that the hosts are promoting our Indian Culture across the Globe.  They have made dancing a medium through which they reach children of Indian descent from all over the world.  They do many good things that are good for children to learn.  For example, they always pay respect to the elders who come to watch their grand children.  In additioin, they encourage kids to dance to songs that are more appropriate for them according to their age.  For example, Javed pointed out to a girl who was only 12 but was dancing in an improper way to an inappropriate song.  These are just few things that make it a good family entertaining show.
