I purchased this black-bird in may 2012. I am completely satisfied with my option. The dealers would ask you not to take it above 55 kmph before 2000 kms. But I found it very hard to do so, as it crosses 60 very easily. I am getting a steady mileage around 42 kmpl at 60 kmph after 3rd service.
But to be frank, I had to change the battery during the first service itself. and sometimes the bird downshifts by itself if the shifting is not proper. The riding comfort is so good that u do not feel fatigue even after long rides. I am completely satisfied with my option.
This bike suits only for those who love speed, power and masculinity and P.S.No sense in complaining about mileage. If you wanted mileage, you could opt lots of bikes at much lower prices.This is not about mileage, its about power, so you have to sacrifice something.
