I purchased one tp-link router for sharing my internet connection over wifi.
it was working ok till 1.5 years.
Setup /installing is easy for IT person.
Connection security is also good.
after 1.5 years, the router's WAN port is misbehaving when used for more than 3 to 4 hours which is not good.
When called to customer care, they told to reset which I did and it worked ok for some time, but same issue getting repeated, when I use directly to my ethernet card, internet works ok.
I changed lan cables but no use, in middle of some work it stops working.

Its ok router for the small places or small houses its range is very small and any of my device can't even sense the signals while accessing from terrace. But for a given budget the service of that product is worth it.
Its best for the bachelors when there are in a small rooms in the house, and it takes time while authenticating the broadband its response time is slow if it was great I would have given 4 star rating.
I have been using this router for the past 1-2 years and it still works very good .
the router has not even once malfunctioned or shown any problems .
it provides quite good range .
the range covers my entire house no matter what corner are you in .
if you have a family of 3-4 people then this is the perfect choice for you .
it is very easy to install and use .
once it fell from my hand and nothing happened .

Last year I was planning to buy a good router for home use.
After searching a lot on internet, I have decided to go with the TP-LINK TL-WR740N router because of it low cost and its amazing features.
So finely I have good range of router. TP-LINK TL-WR740N give full signal for up to 3 rooms. if you keep this router middle place you can cover up to 6 rooms without losing any signals. in my phone it is giving full signals by passing two walls without losing single signal point.
it is great choice after all.
This router I have been using for more than one year,and no issues till now. Tp-link is the company providing hardware products in the inter national market and its product are reliable to use.what any one want while choosing wifi router? This question answer is basically range and cost.I had book for 300 mbps range and I got it well.My house is having two floors and I have fixed my router on the ground floor,still I get good signal strength from router.Don't worry about its range.I having been keeping it turned ON for most of the time and then also it is working fine.No adapter problem or router problem.It also contains ports for RJ-45 and RJ-11 connectors that means you can connect optical fiber cable as well as DSL line to get wired internet access.One more important thing it comes with stand so that you mount it anywhere in your home or office with minimum space utilization.I think I have given enough information to you and now you will find easy to make your choice.Thank you.

I bought this router 1 year back for my home use purpose only. Earlier I had a Dlink router which stopped working and was out of warranty. So I decided to buy this one.
The router works like a charm. The signal is quite good for a single 5 db antenna. I get signal on my roof also which is at the 6th floor(I live in the 2nd floor). Setting up this device was quite easy. Even a 10 yr kid can do it in 10 mins. Every required item for the connection was included in the package. The device has no failure issues. I never switch off the device and generally there is a power cut ONCE in a month. I use my 2 mobiles and laptop to connect to the device. in the past 1 yr there was no visible signal drop. The given cat45 cable is not long enough. So if you want to use your Desktop wired with the device then you have to place them together(or very close).
Overall this is a nice value for money product.
This router is excellent for home and mini office use. easy to install and set up. easily affortable and low cost router. I personally used it and I recomend you. if you are thinking that should you buy or not, just go for it. and the brand tp-link can be trusted undoubtedly. this router is working perfectly with ethernet(cable or broadband). the wi-fi coverage area is also too good. its a good product.

I bought this wifi 3 years ago.I got a awesome deal on amazon at price 700 Rs.I keep my wifi on almost 24 hours still I never faced any issue regarding it.The installing of router was effortless.One important think I would like to bring to everybody's notice that this router ==DOES NOT WORK WITH MTNL=.It has various feature like parental control which can prove handy for parents also you can input the user whom you want to connect and in this way only the person you want will only get connected though your router may be open.It is a single antenna router so people with large houses may find problem with the range.Compling the review I would like to say that it is a good buy seeing the reliability and price of the product.
For hostelities or college students living in flats, this is the best Wifi router you can have in the price range of 850-1000. It'll absolutely satisfy all your requirements!
BUT one IMPORTANT thing, it doesn't support MAC filtering!
MAC filtering is same as "only allow allowed devices to connect" option in your smartphone's hotspot! So other than registered users, others can't to connect to the Wifi even if they have the password.

Although you can keep your Wifi password protected(Which is a'must-have) make sure you don't need MAC filtering option, discus it with users and then definitely go for this one as its the best one in this range if you want to use it in a limited area like a flat.ADVANTAGES-.Set-up is quite easy and seems secured.

Hi, I am using this router from last 2 and half years. Its function is good. Till now I did not recieve any major issues from it. I have ordered it through flipkart. Even though if there is any problem we can contact the customer care executive. They are really helpful. It maintains consistent speed of which you can connect your laptop, mobiles and even PC through Lan cable. The single antenna of 5 dbi is enough for usage without any issues if your taking for home usage. Setting up the router is also every easy. In the box they provide a CD for easy installation. There is also a user manual which will be helpful. Tp link has provided such a good product at reasonable price. You will be satisfied with the product.
TP-Link might not be a renowned brand in the Router Business but definitely it will give tough competitions to other brands.
This is the cheapest WiFi router you will ever find.(I bought it from Amazon just for 740/-) But don't judge by it's price, it performs really well and for the everyday normal use it's just great.
The connection is strong, WiFi signals never get lost or distorted. Speed of the connection never gets down. Range is pretty good!(My router is placed on the first floor and I can easily get this working even on the 3rd floor; isn't that amazing? for such a cheap one!).

Let me start by saying that I am currently using TP-Link TL-WR740N Wireless Router and its been 6 months and I have had a great experience.
I was looking for a router to make my home a complete wifi zone when I came across this model of router.
The brand TP link was a well known brand already so I was just thinking whether 150db single antenna router would be capable of delivering signal to the entire house.
And since there was Diwali offer going on in Amazon this product was available at Rs 649 and without any second thoughts I bought it.and as already mentioned very happy of my decision.
The router is easily configurable and the security functionality is also good.
It directly masks your LAN's MAC ID if you are using a Ethernet connection so it can be connected to router also or even your laptop or computer without any hassles of changing MAC ID.
Overall at a good budget this is the best router for any household.

Overall a good router for normal use. If you are not looking for a larger area to cover with Wi-Fi and usage does not demand high strength then this is a good choice. Ideal for home use or small business. I am using this router for past 18 months and it is working fine.
The signal strength is not very strong though if there are obstacles in between(e.g. walls). I have placed this in a corner of my drawing room. The signal is excellent in the room but drops as I move inside of the flat. You may experience a slight drop in internet speed(I experienced it couple of times on my PC after installing the router) but need not to worry as it is very marginal.
Set-up is very easy. Just plug the router, add installation disk and follow the wizard. You may want to clone the PC IP address if your ISP has linked the connection to MAC address. This router has I WAN port and 4 LAN ports, useful for home or small office network. Overall a good router in budget.
