Horrible customer care & unknownagable staff

I had 2 lakhs loss because of this bank

I got an SBI Forex card for my daughter who went to UK for a semester abroad programme in 2022. Here are some problems:

1. The card does not have a chip, and most services in UK require a chip card. For example, the bus that my daughter had to take to college needed only card with a chip, and since SBI card did not have one, she could not use i. She had to withdraw cash at ATMS and pay service charge for that.

   
   




2. The card works in big cities, but not in smaller towns. The card was declined in all shops in Scotland.

   
   




3. The server kept dying every now and then and is down for hours. The worst was on the day before my daughter was going to leave back to India. The server was down, she didn’t have any cash on her, and the card wouldn’t work anywhere - not in ATM machines, not in shops, nowhere. She travelled with not one pound on her. It was scary.

   
   




4. There is no customer service. The server usually goes down during our nights, (which is day time in most western countries) and there is nobody to complain to.

   
   

One of my friends had advised me not to get SBI Card, but go for an ICICI card instead, and I didn’t listen. I learned my lesson the hard way.

From my experience, I would recommend that you get two cards from two different banks(neither of them SBI), so that if one card doesn’t work, you can use the other one.

One horrible thing with this bank is, they don't provide you customer service. Their service number mostly works only during INDIAN daytime. I mean, its forex card and SBI should obviously use their brain and understand they should provide service during daytime of other country. Its ridiculous and you literally get no help when you have an issue. Their website are down most of the times, customer care number rings forever but no one picks up. Its pointless to go with them!

SBI travel card need to be used with utmost caution. No response will be available from customer service when you frantically call from abroad. The card behaves erratically, sometimes declining to honour payments, but nevertheless giving out credit. There is no way to check your transactions online. Even though https://prepaid.onlinesbi.com/ shows the option for last 10 transaction, 30 day, 60 day and 90 day transactions, in reality only the last 10 transactions are displayed. I have been unable to track my transactions and am at a loss to find out whether I have been refunded payments which were duplicated by the card etc. In short, this card is not user friendly and leaves you in the dark, and possibility of losing money is very high.

Hi all, Today I m gonna share my experience with this credit card service support and charges and many more thing that I have and gone through in last few days! This credit card is soo relieveable in charges Nd paymemts! As their services charges are average! There are alot of discounts are link to this credit card! And also they provide reward point too and I jave also used their attractive offers too! But but! Their customer support is worst ever I have faced! I got problem with my reward which I was unable to redeem and soo I called to customer support for that but they just react in very bad and also keep giving me complaint Id's 20046IKDHNd atlast I get it solve after 7 days. So their customer support is soo bad!

Bought this FTC card with hopes of having a good smooth journey but sadly everything related to this card is hopeless. Few important points to remember:

1. Never forget userid password you will be charged to reset this.

2.Any doubts you have if you call customer care( free no) they would just say sorry madam we dont have the right to give this information so kindly contact the branch you took the card from, so you have to end up making isd calls and waste lot of money

1. Any email sent to the branch would take eons for them to look into it and respond.

4.Once the card is blocked you have to wait quite some time before you can reuse the card

5.The worst customer care service be it via phone, email no value for time or response

1. Any bank account statement you ask the branch they would charge you for that.

In total this card is not worth the efforts you take.
