Went to them and asked them if they stitched Punjabi suits, answered in affirmative, went with a suit (embroidered) length and gave it for stitching along with a sample suit. On due date went and found the suit stitched with the embroidery inside!!! On being told they said they reluctantly admitted that I should collect it the next evening. I went two days later and found that they were hemming the suit and they asked me to come the next day. On being told

(i) that I already had given them a day extra and

(ii) showing them that they had ruined the salwar when compared to the sample given to them,

(iii) Since I had already made two trips and waould make the third who would pay the cost of auto? so for my inconvenience she should reduce the price to Rs 200 (ie by Rs 50) I was shocked when the lady launched a tirade saying you North Indians are all like that!!! Greatly angered I told her that what if I was from a Brahmin family in the south and she suddenly did not know what to do and disgusted I picked up my half finished suit and left. Bad experience.

My first brush with regionalism in the South. Extremely Bad Taste in the mouth.
