Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Examination - Abhijit Guha

Dear all, This book is not a good option if one likes to practice questions. The reason for me to buy it was to get an adequate understanding of banking PO level concepts and later solving questions learned from the concepts but because of wrong questions that can't be calculated from one way to another and the absence of some answers this book really a waste. Concepts are ok but for speed, as required in prelims it's not.

This book is not for students preparing for CAT exams as the information so provided in this book are very basics and would not suffice the need for CAT.

I will not recommend this book strongly as the book is careless with many flaws in the writing part. many of the answers are printed the wrong which can create many confusion in the mind of the students.

I HAVE PURCHASED THIS BOOK. WHEN I READ THIS BOOK I FOUND IT IS NOT WRITTEN IN SIMPLEST LANGUAGE. THE LANGUAGE USED IN THIS BOOK IS HIGH. IT CREATES SOME COMPLEXITIES FOR THE READER . IT LENGTH IS TOO LONG THEREFORE IT WILL BECOME MORE DIFFICULTIES FOR THE GENERAL STUDENT . SO IT TOO MUCH TIME TAKE TO READ IT . IT DOES NOT INCLUDES EVERY TYPE OF QUESTIONS WHICH IS GENERALLY ASKED IN THE COMPETITION EXAM . THERE IS NO HIGH LEVEL PROBLEM GIVEN IN THIS TEXTBOOK . I FOUND THIS BOOK IS NOT USEFUL FOR WEAK STUDENT . IT COST IS ALSO HIGH . It story is also not so good. This book has no capacity to attrack weak student

Hi friends, I am sharing my experience on “Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Examination” by Abhijit Guha .

This book concentrated on Aptitude but not on statistics part. In many examinations questions on Statistics are appearing in Quantitative Aptitude Section. Questions which are given this book don't match that level. This book is not useful for CAT, GMAT etc. The question s in the exam are difficult and tricky. This is a basic book. This is not the best comprehensive book for various competitive exams. Since I am a maths student, I feel its not useful. I feel Agarwals book is nice. Thanks for reading my review.

I bought 5th edition of Quantitive aptitude by Abhijit Guha.this is very useful for various competitive exams.

it cover chapters in HCF, LCM, percentage, loss, work and wages, linear equations, time and distance, trigonometry, geometry, algebra equations, logrithms and etc

one single book contain preparation of all competitive exams like TET, GATE, Mat, bank exams, TNPSC exams, railway exams, UGC exams and etc

it having to solve problems from easier to toughest range to train competitors.

it has sample sums to solve and contain answers in back to clear our doubt in simple and short steps.

this book is referred by mostb of the coaching centers to cover chapters.i got confidence in my exams to clear by this help of book. next am going to by 6th edition by impression of this single book.

As, we all know to crack any exam we have to first study quantitative aptitude.As per my knowledge this book is sufficient to crack any exam. Aptitude is must to crack any exam so in my opinion this book is best.It contains all the topics and suuficient examples are given in this book. I also prefer this book for my exam like for ssc, bank exam or for placements in the IT companies.So this book is best in my on ways.

Questions which are given this book don't match that level. where actual exam questions are. I think you read this book you will see that questions are too easy and you will think that actual exam also too easy but actually actual exam questions are too difficult than they have suggested in this book. I think author had not attended this exams ever, so he is thinking that, this exams are as easy as he have given in his book refer only previous year question paper and study by your self

Quantitative examination of the best of book but not suggest to learning state of practice book not at all why problem are most of unsolved with data efficiency most occur quantitative aptitude in material problem may be come using of the common enterence test and most of the PSU and CAT, MAT GMAT aspirants to the book is most helped most of people not knowing buy this book who are prepare examinations of the bank examinations not at all covered may helped of staff selection commission examinations become help full come to chapters not understand learners so practice people are who are coaching running management prepare teaching reference books is one of the best book.

• The quality of questions is very well.

• The questions are of all levels from easiest to the heighest.

• The hints and explations for some of the recomended questions are there in this book.

• Old questions from papers are there in this book for refrence.

This is a very extensive and comprehensive book for various competitive exams. This book contain chapter on HCF, LCM, profit and loss, Percentage, work and wages, linear equations, time and distance an trigonometry and geometry.

Availability of good question bank of unsolved and solved model test paper which is help me for practice and revision. I like this book due to this single book is fulfill my all competitive exam like TET, CTET, MAT, Banking and railway etc.

Overall, I think this book helps a candidates to assess ones comfort with numbers and also puts his/her logical thinking to test.

In most of the competitive examinations in India including Banking and SSC, one or more test is conducted on Quantitative Aptitude. Today let me tell you about a very helpful book that helped me very much in enhancing my skills in Quantitative Aptitude. It is “Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Exams” by Abhijit Guha.

It is a very comprehensive book with details about how to solve a problem in really quicker ways. I learnt many short cut methods using this book.  The teaching is very comprehensive and the author has provided examples of most types of questions asked in exams.

Along with this book, I would also recommend Aggarwal’s book on Quantitative Aptitude. If you practice from these two books and consult these regularly- then cracking any Test would be 50% easier for you.
