When I completed my 3rd year of Btech programme in Civil Engineering, I chose PNC Infratech Ltd to go with for my summer training.
PNC Infratech is located in Agra, next to the SRK mall.My home is just a few minutes away from it's office, so I found it easy to join this company for summer training.
The office looks dazzling from outside, and same inside.I had my meet with the HR manager and I was given a training letter to join the construction work of Agra-Lucknow Expressway under UPEIDA at Fatehbad road, for a period of 28 days.
I started my training programme on 29th of June.The construction site was quite far and it took me around 2 hrs to reach.The site was amazing.It was full of construction materials, machines, transportation services and offices for the supervision of work in progress.I was given 7 days each to learn in 4 different departments.
The first week was devoted towards lab work.The lab under PNC Infratech was perfect.It had all the equipments required to perform the necessary tests on soil, aggregates etc.I worked there rigorously with the staff and learnt a lot about what I had read so far.
The next 3 weeks were devoted more towards site visits.The highway was being built a km far at the back of site, extending upto Firozabad.It was a great site experience for me.There was a well designed road section which was being brought up into construction process.Most of all, the PNC Infratech engineers were really supportive and helpful.They painstakingly answered my doubts and guided every time at the site.
After my training period completion, I had learnt a lot about the expressway in both aspects:Engineering and Economy.
The PNC Infratech company also involves in construction of airport runways, bridge construction, waste management and other such civil engg. related projects.
No doubt, this company is gonna rise and give a tough competition to already established companies of civil engg. in India.
