Nilgiris Nest, Nilgiris

I have stayed in Nilgiris Nest in Chennai for many years many times. The Hotel brand has a legacy of being for over 100 years. There have been times when you would find it difficult to get an accommodation in this hotel unless you plan and book well in advance.

Of late I find their services deteriorating very rapidly. I had booked a room for me a week back and came to the hotel exhausted to take a refreshing bath and rest. To my first dismay, the receptionist made me to wait for half an hour because he has allotted my room to some one else though I had confirmed my arrival on the previous day. While I was waiting in the reception I could find a couple of other guests upset for some other reason with the hotel and they were expressing their displeasure to the receptionist.

Finally after half an hour I was allotted a room 301. I went in to see a series of unwelcoming things in the room. The room was stinking because some one had just checked out, second, there was no hot water, no hanger to lay the cloths, water glasses without water jug, TV with no remote, air-conditioner not working, staling room lights and crowning all this the electrical switches giving a shock when I tried to switch. I was given another room on complaining, which was slightly better than the earlier one. There is hardly any value for money. People who plan to stay in Nilgiris please watchout. Nilgiris is sure losing its glory
